Making an English cover for Gurenge that makes sense and sounds amazing is actually harder than it looks. Kudos to Jon and all the people who make anime covers.
If voices could have babies with other voices; then I'd go to the nearest clinic to be impregnated.
It takes a lot of liberty and skill to cover a song in a different language, especially if you do it without compromising much of the meaning, sound, or integrity of the song.
I still prefer the translations by divide music.

A lot of translations seem to focus on preserving the meaning of the lyrics but fail to preserve the rhythm and "singability". Jonathan always tweaks them to flow better

I'll always have so much respect for those that transcribe lyrics, people really underestimate just how difficult it is. This is a great performance and great vocal work. The transcription is a little strained though in some places where it's quite obvious you're struggling to make it fit the same cadence, rhythm and feel of the original piece. It's really difficult though, so huge props for not just copying someone else's lyrics.
It’s one of the reasons I’ve always loved Jonathan Young’s covers.
Direct transcriptions of Japanese songs don’t work because the root language is different than that of English. Even if his edits aren’t exactly the same, the gist is there, and so is the heart of the song

There's this one part of the song that only lasts a millisecond at around 0:30 where every SINGLE time I hear it it sounds faintly like my mom is calling my name from another room. You have no idea how many times I play that part and taken my headphones out because I thought my name was being called. Every single time.

When I clicked on this video I wasn't paying too much attention to the title and it came as a huge surprise the second he started singing. I was not expecting him to do this song and I once tried to look for his version of this song but there was no version of him singing this. I had a huge smile the second it started playing and realized what he was singing. Awesome cover man. Keep it up.

Listened to 3 different English covers and all 3 have slightly different lyrics in them but Johns is the most accurate in translation judging by a video of LiSa singing it in it’s original Japanese with English subtitles underneath it’s Japanese lyrics. Since i don’t speak Japanese or know anyone that does i have to say this one is most accurate to the original
