Man binging this series have been an adventure, it just feels good to rewatch it after knowing what happened. You’ll notice hints of foreshadowing like in episode 20 when Travis was being controlled twice. At this point, I was still fangirling over Zane-chan, yet screaming at Kim/Ghost to take the book cause i remember that mug was very important cause Lucina couldn’t find it in time. Just adore this series
The way ghost looked at the book is similar to Travis looking at it....... Maybe just maybe Travis as a ghost or a demon.

As we all know, Zane has kiddnaped Emmlyn in mcd and has killed Kenmur too. Maybe this place was where Zane killed Emmalyn because she didn't wanna search more information and do his commands! So Zane cursed her and from killing her, he made her soul hunting the loge that the gang went to, forever. After so many decades though Emmalyn started to forget everything. She couldn't remember that Kenmur was her real husband and because Zane was the one she last saw before she gets cursed, she now thinks that HE was her lover!

7:12 How did I not realize before that it was emmalyn’s voice😭! (btw I’m rewatching this again)
It’s probably funny for Pat, when he’s voicing a conversation between two characters he plays as
Conspiracy theory: ghost is actually Emmy (emmalyn) from Diaries. After the death of kenmur and being taken by Zane, she eventually fell in love with Zane (he started to feel sympathy for her, so he started being sweet.) After a while, Zane finally realized he didn't want to be the person he was, so he moved up to the mountains, taking Emmalyn with him, (since he couldnt really take her back, and she didnt really seem to want to anymore.) and ended up falling in love with her too. Shad was angry about Zanes descions, so he went to kill him for good, or take away his shadow night abilities so he could die. After Emmalyn had done all the reasearching years back, she learned had learned magicks. So when Shad went to go find and kill Zane, Emmalyn protected Zane and killed Shad, (with her magicks) all this costing her her life.
Kind of a weird theory, but you never know. Haha

I like your theory and I know it's a year later but I hope you wouldn't mind if I gave a theory of my own?
I believe that after Kenmur died things started to get worse for Emmy, after she ran away from Zane she decided it wasn't worth trying to get away as she realized she had no idea where she was. She was scared so she continued working for Zane. Eventually they ended up somewhere she recognized, (possibly New Meteli?) And she tried to run away again. Zane, not wanting to deal with her anymore, decided to kill her when he saw her again as she was mostly useless to him at this point, and he also didn't want her giving him away if he could help it. He believed he could either get a new scholar or just take it from there himself. Emmalyn ran back to Phoenix Drop, believing that maybe, just maybe, Dante and Lucinda managed to save Kenmur, so upon returning to Phoenix Drop to find him dead, she was devastated, and likely moved away to escape the memories, to the cabin, which over the years she turned into an inn. She would still help Lord Aphmau when she could, but she tried her best to take her mind off everything by means of running the inn. Her devastation could potentially explain why her soul was split when she died, assumably by Zane's hand as he had swore it would be him to kill her the moment she became useless. Though it has been years, he was of course still heartless so he killed her anyway. Over the thousands upon thousands of years she wandered as a ghost. She forgot who she was, and she could only remember two things. 1. She had died trying to protect the one she loved. And 2. The only name she could remember was Zane. She remembers this name because it is the name that caused her the most pain. She linked these two together as her LOVER'S name being Zane, so when a person came to her haunted lodge, and his name was Zane, she was overwhelmed with feelings of joy, the first emotions she had likely felt for thousands of years. Here was an embodiment of one of the only two things she remembered, and she didn't want to let him go.

(SPOILERS FOR SEASON 3 OF MCD (bruh go watch it) )
I think that after all her research he learned all he needed and realized that she was absolutely useless. He decided to take her to the canon, but he saw aphmau, shad, and Alina there,but shad was getting ready to fire up the canon to turn Alina into a relic, but aphmau must have stopped him, and had no idea what to do with the charged up canon. Then I believe Zane stepped in and threw her into it's beam. Then the last thing she saw was Zane, leaving me to believe that her soul got split in the canon and Zane was the last thing she saw. I think she confused Zane with kenmur, got all the few memories she had mixed up, and fell for Zane.
