    Great video! We own a Mean Bean and are just wrapping our third season with it. The Black Bean is a dream! We’ve loved our Bean trailer. The team there is top of the industry. You’ve really got to see the trailer in person to appreciate the craftsmanship

      Yes... my rig probably has three times the real estate ..but no way is it going off the Bitumen... I look at "Bean" configurations on the road and used to think .. how can you live in that? The video I just watched explained it all... Yes you definitely can !!

    • @TomtheDilettante
      @TomtheDilettante  Год назад

      I love the Mean Bean and Meaner Bean myself. This Black Bean was kick a$$, but I would personally prefer to spend ~$10k or more less LOL. You're right though, seeing these things in person vs on a RUclips channel is very different. I was very impressed with the unit and can see why so many people love it. Thanks for watching!

    • @TomtheDilettante
      @TomtheDilettante  Год назад +2

      LOL! Mine too. Denny (owner of the Black Bean) has a small portable toilet stowed in the cargo carrier above, but somehow I doubt that would be acceptable to either of our wives :)

    I love the concept of the teardrop trailers. Minimalistic design, light and compact. What I cannot overcome is the price on most brands teardrop trailers. For the same price of a nicely equipped teardrop you can get a much bigger trailer/camper with more space for a more comfortable travel/camping

    • @TomtheDilettante
      @TomtheDilettante  8 месяцев назад +2

      Agreed. These things are super cool, but even if I had the money to buy one, I share the same sentiment as you. For the same price (sometimes cheaper...sometimes for only a little more) we could get something more like a "home". If I had a LOT of money, I might get both LOL. Ah well. Just because it's not really right for me doesn't mean it's not still cool as hell :)

    • @jolebole-yt
      @jolebole-yt 8 месяцев назад

      @@TomtheDilettante They are sure super cool. I’d rather haul smaller camper, easier to park, move, you burn less gas and bring only minimal stuff you need instead of the whole house. Maybe we can get to a point where enough companies make them so the price can come down. But in this economy? I dont see it happening anytime soon. Until then.. its motocamping with my motorcycle 😁

      Yup, there's a ton of options out there that are really cool. I wish I had access to a bunch to test and review, but I haven't figured out how to be worthy of that just yet. This guy, however, has a bunch of great content covering a variety of trailers. Check him out if interested (link below).

    OK let me try again .. folks are sneering at how expensive this rig is... My Rig cost half the "out of pocket) price but I had to build it for myself once my home burned down and I was left with scant finacial reacourses. .. so I bought a gut shot truck and made it my home .. it took me three years and if I billed myself minimum wages for sll the love and work I put into her ... yeah show me the tab and laugh at me..

      Ya know, I never bothered to look that up as an official part of the digital lexicon, but I think you're right. I've always used it to describe simply being stuck in the consumption of large amounts of any kind of media...caught in a pernicious loop that lasts way long than it probably should have :). Anytime I waste excessive amounts of time I consider being "doomed" :P

      ha. Yeah. It's super cool, but definitely requires (1) a certain level of disposable income and (2) the ability to use it often enough as intended to make it worth it. In my conversations with Denny (owner of the Black Bean in this video), he has both. If it brings someone joy (and is legal), I'm not gunna judge :)

      These are awesome trailers and built very well. Don’t equate size with what the cost should be. If one is into overlanding, this trailer sits at the top. Very high value and worth the money in its market segment.
