I actually had the exact same thing happen in my marriage. My hubby was focused on his interests and I was left with working full time and taking care of the house. Then I was tempted to leave for someone who showed interest. Thankfully, my husband gave up all the distractions and started trying to win me over. Just like the girl in the movie, I didn't take his advances at first but he eventually won me over. This seriously was us. We're still together because we both have decided to follow Jesus, do love dares, work on ourselves and our past hurts.

I have a spirit of adultery and it all comes down to me seeking out people who desire me because that's where I get my worth. But what has happened over the course of my faith is this realization that I have to turn to God for my worth, because I can't rely on my husband for edification because he is only human that is way too much to put on him. Once I recognized that I had to learn and set up healthy boundaries, the struggle got easier. I has been 5 years since I gave into adultery. In that dark time came to surface suppressed memories of sexual abuse that I then sought help for in counseling, which honestly explained my deepest desires to feel sexually desirable and having that as my only worth. But my hubby show me grace and forgiveness actually helped my faith in God because if he as an imperfect being could show that kind of forgiveness and love towards me, how much more would the Father show? During the next years I battled and grew in my faith, I had moments where I would want to leave or felt tempted by a man, but I never gave in. I would even be transparent with my husband and tell him if I was having feelings for someone I shouldn't. He always was patient, understood and continued to love and tell me that he would never divorce me. That even if I ran off with another man and it didn't workout that he would take me back. I feel the rejection of my wife only on day 9 and I can only imagine the rejection God must feel. I love my wife though I won't give up until the dare is done hopefully it'll save us but if it don't I'll know my God better and know his love to be able to show to another woman that he will send to me.

The director of this movie has really put something together well here. I am starting school this coming August of 2013, to go into Christian Counseling and I plan on having a copy of this movie on my desk. When I get my first job in a church.

With the help of the various ministries and above all, my faith, I now can say that I am blessed to have a heart that truly loves my husband. I sat down last night with my grandmother. And she wanted me to watch this movie with her so I did. It was so enjoyable really did enjoy it. The director of this movie has really put something together well here. I am starting school this coming August of 2013, to go into Christian Counseling and I plan on having a copy of this movie on my desk. When I get my first job in a church.
Fireproof is SUCH a fantastic movie! I loved it the moment i saw it. I pray that millions will see it and learn all that it has to offer! The things it talks about can be applied to not only marriages, but friendships, father-daughter relationships; all kinds of relationships.

With the help of the various ministries and above all, my faith, I now can say that I am blessed to have a heart that truly loves my husband.
