This is the legend of Lord Gorakhnath's birth from what I heard: Matsyendranath once went to beg for alms in a nearby village and there he came upon a dejected childless woman and decided to bless her with a child, so he gave her some magical ash which he asked her to eat with her next meal. I live in Britain and this was a welcome tonic in Kali Yuga. Interesting how Yuga and yoga are similar words. Whilst in a mental hospital where I'm about to leave I spontaneously began doing Gorakhnath asana and another patient/yogi told me what it was and thus my eyes have been opened further to just what is possible on earth. A lady in one of the house was childless. She begged Swami Matsendra Nath for blessings for a child. Swami Matsendra Nath out of compassion gives her a powder packet and asked her to consume it. The lady took the packet in her house and told everyone about this. Everyone in the house discourages her to take the packet as they doubted what is in the powder. The lady throws the packet in her cow shed. Swami Matsendra Nath after some years comes back to this ladies house and asks her about how is her son. The lady confesses to Swami Matsendra Nath that she threw the powder packet in the cow shed. Swami Matsendra Nath goes to the cow shed, there is a cow dung heap there. Swami Matsendra asks the boy to come out. There Swami Gorakshanath comes out of the heap of cow dung. Gorakshanath means Gow (Cow) + Raksha (protector) + Nath (God).

@@zoranznidaric4518 actually we have two theories for incarnations. One which is propagated by not so old mythological texts, which say that the supreme being takes different forms.
Other one is the principle of self realised souls attaining and matching it's consciousness with the supreme. It's a lengthy topic to explain but the fact is, the initiation is needed by those highly realized souls who still haven't attained the maximum level of consciousness possible. Lord shiva is one such yogi who attained the highest possible for any kind of soul.
Now krishna was rebirth of the soul of yogi narayana. Narayana through endless births and rebirths attained maximum possible when born as krishna. That's why no initiation.
Even lord rama needed initiation which was provided by guru vashishtha and vishwa mitra.

Please rectify your information, You have mentioned wrong information about the birth of gorkhnath, and gorakh doesn't mean garbage, it means ashes that cow leaves, or ashes of cow dung.
