He can't, I think it's been really heavily mastered post production. The whole concert is well out of line with reality, I think there has been lots of over dubbing or something.
You're living in a dream world, Yes have never sounded like this on any of their live albums. The quality is better than yessongs, which is completely unrealistic. There is even overdubbed crowd noise. If you think JA can sing like this today, or even in his mid 20s, for a full concert without any bum notes or flat tones or anything bad at all then we will have to disagree. Not that I didn't enjoy it, it's just not them live IMO.
I like the way Trevor approaches playing iconic tunes in his own way. Rick Wakeman is as cool as ever and when you're that cool, you can wear a cape if you want to! The most striking thing is Jon's voice, better than he used to be... Incredible!
Remarkable how YES can rotate through all the different personnel and still sound like YES, but with one exception: There is only one Jon Anderson. Accept no substitutes.
Yeah, I guess. I saw them twice in the ‘70’s and have watched everything I can find on RUclips. To my ear, the drums and keys are the only plug ‘n play positions. It takes Anderson/Howe/Squire for me to fully appreciate them.
Jon...I love you man. It's quite simple. As a vocalist who's not blessed with your high register...ah, what the hell. This was beautiful. Inspirational and aspirational. Loved the Newcastle gig. It was emotional man. Joyous.
67 years old , still listening to my alltime favorite Band . My first Concert ever ..."close to the edge" tour,,, Billy Joel opened for them. I was in high school. The Landmark Theater Syracuse NY. Seen Every top Band in concert since, nobody ever topped them.. Thanks Guys.
I love this new version. Trevor Rabin together with the bass and drums makes this really rocky. Combine that with the still brilliant vocals of Jon Anderson and the fantastic Rick Wakeman makes this all sound so fresh.
This song is so epic! I've heard it my entire life ( i am 40) but have really started to appreciate it in the last few months. I think i've listened to every version on RUclips, as well as covers. I've also learned to play it on guitar. LOVE IT !!!!
11 years of age, quite a while ago now. First album I bought was the Yes album. I have been a huge fan ever since. Close to the edge has and will always be my favourite. amazing band on vinyl and incredibl live.
How refreshing to hear the Good People melody in it's natural thriving elemental form. I'm so satisfied that Yes I'm on my way. The circled STAGE in Chicago was the last time I felt this unity. Thank You Music inspires all creativity.
The best rock band....Ever!!! These guys put their music 50 years !!! Before everything!!! Their music was so advanced and complicatedthat.....Is the only Rock band that "Never could be cloned"
From the first time i heard the Yes Album, i was hooked. In my college days i literally wore the album out. I remember it like it was yesterday. So innovative and talented. Yes made an impact on music.
Jon and Rick still there ; I miss Chris, Steve and Alan so much, my favorite 5 members, the heart of the band forever even the others are very good musicians
Wow, just wow! They still sound freaking amazing! The "other Yes band" pretending to be Yes doesn't come close. These guys are so tight and JA's vocals are spot on still.
I used to know Lee Pomeroy when he worked at Rock Bottom music in Croydon south London, he’s a really nice guy and a great guitar player as well. He also showed me how to play the mellotron intro to Watcher of the Skies by Genesis. He is one talented guy.
4:22 anderson reminds me on a preacher doing his gospel things. and: oh yes, HE REALLY IS! praise the lord or whatever! - this high quality sound version is shaking me to tears. no doubt, i miss chris squire - but hey: this band does a serious job!
TREVER CAN STILL PLAY THAT GUITAR! HE IS INCREDIBLE TO SAY THE LEAST! I STILL ENJOY THEIR MUSIC, EVEN THOUGH THE MEMBERS HAVE CHANGED! IT STILL SOUNDS THE SAME! JUST INCREDIBLE!
The REAL Yes voice, and the only active band founder! The real Yes keyboard wizard! The man behind largest Yes hits. Oh, no, this is not Yes, this is ARW... :) Bravo, guys! Long live to you! Jon's voice sounds FANTASTIC! P.S. BTW, I've met the "classic" line up in the past. Jon and Rick are really nice, friendly and funny people. Unlike Howe and Squire, who were very arrogant and vain.
Alex Seubert congrats on catching my attempt at humor. The drummer’s actual name is Louis Molino who has a striking resemblance to the character Walter White in the series “Breaking Bad”. Louis is very talented and deserves better name recognition on the current tour web page.
Man, don't you think Steve Howe is desperately missing in this song? I adore Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman, and also, I adore Bill Bruford, the guy who originally recorded this one. I've never been a fan a Alan White, but now I see how harshly I've judged him. The guitarist is a ghost in this song. It's almost like there's nothing but a robot or a pre-recording there. This isn't one of _those_ songs, you know, like Heart Of The Sunrise or Close To The Edge... This is just Your Move, and yet how bad this sounds without Howe is maddening. I'm not just saying this: I would be ashamed to go on stage and perform like that. I would rather never be famous if my only other choice was to murder Steve Fucking Howe himself.
Kauan R. M. Klein thanks for your comment. I agree wholeheartedly that Steve Howe’s guitar work is desperately missing and I’m not a fan of Rabin’s style. I’m happy to see Jon singing again even if it’s in a fractured version of the band. I’ve been a Yes fan since the early 1970’s and have seen them more times than I can count. I’ve met Howe, Squire, White, Sherwood, Downes, Davidson, and even Oliver Wakeman when he filled in for his dad. All were very nice and each talented. My favorite band members were in place when Fragile was released many moons ago. Ah, the glory days! Take care my friend.
Wow, Jon Anderson’s voice has barely changed in 50 years. Pretty incredible.
He's 73 now. Mind-blowing he can still sing like this.
He hasn't got any taller either lol
He can't, I think it's been really heavily mastered post production. The whole concert is well out of line with reality, I think there has been lots of over dubbing or something.
There's no evidence of that. The lead vocal line is very clearly taken straight from the board and is not overdubbed or autotuned.
Jon Anderson's voice. What a man. What a voice.
I like the way Trevor approaches playing iconic tunes in his own way. Rick Wakeman is as cool as ever and when you're that cool, you can wear a cape if you want to! The most striking thing is Jon's voice, better than he used to be... Incredible!
Saw Jon in 2016 and again in 2019, videos don't do justice to how damn good he sounds still.
Wakeman's keyboard tech: How many keyboards should I set up?
Wakeman: All of them.
@@davidfrench5407 All of them. Of course!
Trevor sucks. His guitar work is as lame as his pathetic singing.
Trevor can’t handle Steve’s opening tunes so they have wakeman cover for him Just my opinion
FLAWLESS. Wow, this is LIVE. Absolutely magnificent. These guys are actually better than they were 50 years ago - if that's at all possible
right? and Jon still singing in the original keys
Jon's singing is so effortless. What a voice.
Im glad the keyboardist is still rockin' his cape from the 70's !!! Yaayeah !!!!
What a voice. And still hitting the top of his range after 50 years!! That's amazing.
It takes Anderson/Howe/Squire for me to fully appreciate them.
old school rockers are REAL talent at its best . no vocal adjusters or fluff . just awesome. Todays music does not compare
Wow absolutely one of the best versions of this song I ever heard. Jon Anderson's voice was magnificent and is definitely a one-of-a-kind
*Jon Anderson
What an absolutely beautiful song. So many great songs from this truly iconic band.
The first time I ever heard Jon Anderson sing I fell in love. I'm still in love.
Jon anderson is an angel who got lost and stayed on our planet
He really is 🥺❤️
Jon...I love you man. It's quite simple. As a vocalist who's not blessed with your high register...ah, what the hell. This was beautiful. Inspirational and aspirational. Loved the Newcastle gig. It was emotional man. Joyous.
Pure Heaven right here, nearly brings me to tears for I'm right back in the seventies with this gem at the Boston Garden1974 ...great memories
Jon's voice is as spectacular as ever!
Combine that with the still brilliant vocals of Jon Anderson and the fantastic Rick Wakeman makes this all sound so fresh.
nice chemistry, right?
You got it.
I like it.
This is way better than whatever the Yes that Steve Howe's a part of is.
My favorite Yes keyboard is and will always be Rick Wakeman! What a player! Greatest one with Patrick Moraz!
Jon is singing better live than he ever has. Fantastic! So great to witness the upward arc of greatness in later years.
Hard to believe Jon Anderson can still sing so strong!
There's such a gorgeous warmth and fluidity in this version. Bravo!
A joyful message of a happy song by YES, the best band ever !!!!
I’d watch any version of Yes with these 3! You can’t have Yes without John Anderson, imho.
John's voice incredible. Please live forever.
Waited 40 years to see yes, and i was there second row and it was amazing, I'm even on the video....twice! including a close up! Well chuffed.
This song is so epic! I've heard it my entire life ( i am 40) but have really started to appreciate it in the last few months. I think i've listened to every version on RUclips, as well as covers. I've also learned to play it on guitar. LOVE IT !!!!
From the brillant 1970 yes album. What an amazing album, still love it to pieces.
Thank You
Music inspires all creativity.
Jon's voice sounds amazing. I'd certainly pay to see this version of Yes over the other! it's good seeing Jon and Rick in the same band again.
Jon Anderson o mito , canta dimais desde que era bem jovem.. YES lovers forever...
The most tasteful keyboardist ever. Rick always picks quality sounds
I'm blown away at how good this is. Great memories with Yes from my youth. This is a nice finish for them.
The best rock band....Ever!!! These guys put their music 50 years !!! Before everything!!!
Their music was so advanced and complicatedthat.....Is the only Rock band that "Never could be cloned"
T Rabin ....great... Everyone else... Just as great..thanks for the post...
Jon and Rick still rocking.
I saw Yes twice in the Seventies. It wasn't enough.
Think of the thousands who didn't. I saw them in the UK as often as I could.
Cuanto talento que ha perdurado por siempre...Maravillosos ❤
Keeping the memory alive.
Fantastic.
Thank you Jon Anderson for all of the great memories.
Remain in light.
Love this!! Saw them here in Montreal a year ago and it was magical! Can't wait to receive my Blu-ray next week :)
From the first time i heard the Yes Album, i was hooked. In my college days i literally wore the album out. I remember it like it was yesterday. So innovative and talented. Yes made an impact on music.
I saw these guys during their tour.
Great show.
Superb rendition, Jons voice is still amazing.
Jon looks AND sounds terrific! He's 73 years old -- and turns 74 next month!
Any incarnation of YES was always magical for me. Asbury Park,NJ 1970 at Convention Hall,my intro to YES.
Jon and Rick still there ; I miss Chris, Steve and Alan so much, my favorite 5 members, the heart of the band forever even the others are very good musicians
This is truly amazing.
Mal posso esperar para comprar o dvd desse show! 🎸🔊🎶
Bom gosto amigo ,yes super banda..
I’ve always loved the harmonies.
Brilliant musicianship and electrifying excitement, a real sense of joy. I’ve ordered the DVD! 🍾❤️

Truly amazing! I just ordered the Blu-ray!
This is drawing up some very sweet emotions for me.
Wow, just wow! They still sound freaking amazing! The "other Yes band" pretending to be Yes doesn't come close. These guys are so tight and JA's vocals are spot on still.

TREVER RABEN fits in the band very nicely thank you!
What a great voice
Wow, it's great, thanks so much for sharing.
This is YES !
I was there and it was such a great show. And the mega bonus of it being filmed.
YES es como el rocio de la mañana , SIEMPRE REFRESCANTE.
That's some pure sonic goodness right there!
El arte en su más pura expresión. Eternos!!!.
A great band that is highly underrated
Amazing song!
Glauber Belo almost too fantastic for words.
Dale Baker for sure!
Love Lee Pomeroy on bass. Grinning the whole way through.
Not a bad gig for lee gets to play with Yes and ELO. who can complain about that?
Lee goes where few dare to follow with the passing of Chris Squire a hard act to follow. LEE DOES IT! 👍🏼👍🏼
He’s played in Steve Hackett’s band quite recently too! He definitely keeps his fingers in some proggy pies!
He even played a lefty Shergold double neck, like Rutherford's.
Wow those vocals! Great harmonies!
Still rocking out! Amazing.
👌I so wanna go back to those days 🤗
Fabulous.
TREVER CAN STILL PLAY THAT GUITAR! HE IS INCREDIBLE TO SAY THE LEAST! I STILL ENJOY THEIR MUSIC, EVEN THOUGH THE MEMBERS HAVE CHANGED! IT STILL SOUNDS THE SAME! JUST INCREDIBLE!
Great show. 👏🤷♂️🏃♂️🏃♀️🤸♂️🤸♀️📰-YES LIVE @APOLLO
Timeless…just brilliant
I was at the Brussels show, it was great!
The REAL Yes voice, and the only active band founder! The real Yes keyboard wizard! The man behind largest Yes hits. Oh, no, this is not Yes, this is ARW... :)
Bravo, guys! Long live to you! Jon's voice sounds FANTASTIC!
P.S. BTW, I've met the "classic" line up in the past. Jon and Rick are really nice, friendly and funny people. Unlike Howe and Squire, who were very arrogant and vain.
I Saw Several of these Shows. There was Little, or a Minimum of Post Work on this . They were Superb.
Even better with age & Al was right top ten rock songs...great people here..thanx mucho
I like their smile on stage
So happy and singing with Jon ...
I couldn’t just sit in the audience like that, I’d be up dancing and clapping...I like the base player. Forget his name, but he played for Steve H.
Awesome voice...
Beautiful!!!
Sounding great!
Just noticed the bass player also plays with Jeff Lynne ..great band yes always liked them ✌️
I remember hearing this when I was 17yrs of age, just bought the album (vinyl) on release date...and thought I'd gone to heaven. .
Johns voice is still good and strong after 50 years of singing Rick has a great voice!! Timeless song and the harmony is spot on
Thanks for posting!
Very enjoyable! Trevor Rabin on guitar, Lee Pomeroy on bass and Walter White on drums add new flavor.
Walter White?
Alex Seubert congrats on catching my attempt at humor. The drummer’s actual name is Louis Molino who has a striking resemblance to the character Walter White in the series “Breaking Bad”. Louis is very talented and deserves better name recognition on the current tour web page.

Wow!!!! Incredible sound
The lyrics in this tune strongly relate to our loss due to covid 19. WE maybe 'need to move back onto square.' I love his resilence !
Jon sings like a young man. Hats off.
timeless master piece
Just order'd dvd on amazon pre-order date on friday 7th September 2018 can't wait.
