Nice to see that more and more CDTV content are being available on RUclips, there are some good new add-ons that I did show in my videos that will make the CDTV even better, both 8 mb ram upgrade, newly made SCSI card and adding mouse/joystick ports, all are mods that are really recommended to get the most fun out of the CDTV.
Gull wing flat packs were some of the original surface mount package styles used in the 60's if you look at a lot of Apollo hardware you'll see a lot of surface mount packages used.
When I worked at Gateway 2000 back in the 90s we would take each computer off the end of the assembly line, then take it up to a catwalk above the production floor where a guy would plug it in and run a test sequence which would run the memory, CPU, and hard drive for 24 hours before the machines went out. This was necessary because no two machines were alike due to parts availability constraints. This process was discontinued around the year 1995, as parts manufacturers did better product testing.
The CDTV is an amazing machine. I love the look of the case and the Amiga 500 hiding inside. I've owned one since 2011 and over the years have added a lot of accessories like trackball mouse, keyboard, floppy drive, etc. I've got some upgrades to do which will be a follow up video on my channel to my previous videos at some point in the future.
The "burn in" stickers usually refer to burn-in tests. These are tests for the continuous operation of parts, components, printed circuit boards, modules and devices. The purpose of these tests is to find components in advance that would fail in continuous operation.
'Burn - In' sticker likely refers to a test or procedure to run machine under power in a period of time. To weed out a weak assembly or component. LIKED and SUBCRIBED. Great video. I love my CDTV. I had it since new. I'm going to be doing the same to her soon. I got an RGBtoHDMI for CDTV for it on order. Maker just did another batch. :) has two joystick ports, Switch to use with rom switcher, and of course HDMI. :)
Wow these are fairly rare i believe my dads best friend had one back in 1992 i remember being absolutely amazed buy it thank you so much for the memories

Glad you enjoyed it
Thinking of it now the CDTV and CDi seem to have been years ahead of any so called multimedia PC.
@09:50, just press the white part down to release the clamp holding the cable in place. Don't take it off :)
Another interesting Video!! How is your C128?? Do you find the Failure?
No, I put it away for a while. I will wait a bit more to collect the tips and advice, then I will make a new video.
@@Arcticretro Can't await to see the Repair Video!! 👍🏻

Sorry who provided the machines that we should follow? Sounded like “Korero retro machines “ or something. Can you give us a link?
Sorry. My pronunciation :) It is "kojro retro innovations"
I was thinking...maybe the botch wires were placed on the board to get it from revision 2.2 to revision 2.3.
