Breathtakingly beautiful, love the way you did the birds eyes.
Shirley, you are very talented.
Many thanks for sharing your talents with us. I'm a"hack", but have been able to take my coloring to a new level with You Tube by watching gifted artists like you. I've learned from you how to add depth with the black pencil and challenge myself by drawing. Thank you, also for using Prisma colors, to me they blend the best and the colors are most vibrant. I look forward to seeing more of your masterpieces in the future. Happy New Year !
Wow, your coloring is fantastic! : )
It's so beautiful! It actually looks like a photo was taken of these Christmas robins! You are very talented with colors. I can't believe you did this with pencils and one white marker. My coloring looks juvenile next to yours! You make it look so easy ~ only it so isn't! Phenomenal job! I'm trying to copy it in my book the way you did yours. How you choose your colors is incredible! The poinsettias look amazing! Happy Coloring!!
I'm coloring this page right now I just love it! You are so talented. Thank you everyone for all your tips I read all of them 🤗.

Arise Barbie thanks comment
I'm at a loss for words, just beautiful.
Thanks my friend:)
Johanna's drawing is fabulous, and your additions have made it just sublime! Your depth and choice of color is amazing and brilliant.
Would you please also share when/why you choose to use the Uni gel pen or the Uni Posca paint pen, and if the paint pen is fine or medium tip? I'm also fascinated by the two leather pencil storage cases shown in the opening sequence; it looks like a great way to safely keep pencils while being able to see all of them and I would love to know where you found them.
Thank you for sharing your lovely gifts for illustration and coloring.
Thanks for your commnet Kat. The nib of these two pens are different. Posca can release much more pigments onto the nib, I’d like to color some some large areas with it. However, the paint of Posca isn’t white-out enough, if you want a good coverage, gel pen will be a better choice:) I got the two (actually I have four haha) canvas wraps from Amazon. They can help me storage my pencils in any order I want.
Thank you for the information. Isn't Amazon amazing?! I use book-style cases that have elastic slots on the front and back of "pages" that fold like an accordian and I spend too much time flipping and unfolding and just plain getting lost!
Beauiful job love it
Shirley I just don't know what to say, it is breathtakingly beautiful and I am so grateful for the videos you do. I always look out for them and learn so much.❤️ x

Hi, Shirley, what did you use for the gold? Thanks
I used uniball gold gel pen.

You do beautiful work. You added the holly to the picture, correct, or at least more holly? Johanna did not draw it that way? Just want to make sure, in case I buy the book. What size nib is the Posca Paint Marker? When I look them up, they have paint pen and paint marker. I need to know which to buy for sure. Thank you.
This is gorgeous.......👌👌👌👌

wow this is beautiful...................your make it looks so easy.♥ thanks for sharing .
Thanks for watching! Have fun!
Where did you go Shirley? I love your tutorials!
Beautiful as ever, Shirley. I know it's beside the point, but what I love most is that you did not put christmas tunes on it. I'm not ready yet to give over to winter and christmas...:-) Shirley, I wonder for while now, can you tell how you decide which style you will color in the picture? I mean sometimes the page is colored very life-like, like this one here. Sometimes your approach is more painterly-like, for instance the vegetable garden or going to a fair? I know the question is difficult but maybe you have an answer to that. :-)
Haha that’s really a difficult question. I think it mainly depends on the book that I colored. Like romantic country, the illustrator made the beautiful designs full of the page, what I do is choosing the color I loved to fill in. However, Johanna’s book leaves lots of spaces where we can create something, so I can use my imagination to make it my own way. Besides, I got lots of inspirations everyday, I can’t stop the inspirations from spinning in my brain lol…That’s may be the other reason I change my style sometimes.
Shirley XL. Y. stunning as usual !! Love it. kisses from Portugal
Thank you Carla! kisses back
Amazing 😮😮😮
stunning!!
Thank you!
I am loving this tutorial. What green combo did you use for the pointsettia leaves? It's missing from the video
7es, my prismacolor complete set does not include the number 109 Prussian green, what can I substitute?
its amazing!!!
Love your videos! I noticed that your pencils are not sharpened to a fine point. Do you prefer to color with a more flat surface lead?
Oh haha, that’s just personal habits. I’d like to use flat point for shading some large areas. The coverage will be much smoother than the sharp point made. If I want to use a sharp point, I will half-turn my pencil to use the sharp edge of the lead. The drawing itself will polish the pencil tip.I don’t know if I am clear..lol…
I love this video Great job! I know you did this a year ago but can you tell me what colors you used for the poinsettia leaves? That part is skipped in video. Thank you for posting this awesome video. Thanks - Amy Nevins.
What color are the legs on the birds? Did I miss that part?
Love comment
