  • Cream - Sunshine Of Your Love live at Royal Albert Hall, London.
    May 2, 3, 5, 6. 1080p
    19 of 22
In May of 2005 Cream returned to London's Royal Albert Hall-to the same stage where they had completed what was thought to be their final performance in 1968. It was one of the most eagerly anticipated, hard-to-get tickets in rock history. With the exception of a brief reunion set at their 1993 induction into the Rock and roll Hall of Fame, Cream had not played together in nearly four decades. This DVD documents Cream's momentous London shows. Performances from each of the four nights are featured and much more. Also included are alternate performances and interviews with Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce, and Eric Clapton. Cream formed in 1966 and disbanded in 1968. The band were a prolific and thrilling live act and toured incessantly in their short but remarkable history.

When we lost Ginger and Jack , rock lost two of its best teachers. This younger generation of musicians NEED to look at this performance. THIS is how you do it.

Everyone always talks about Bonham and Moon or Mitchell but Ginger really made use of tribal rhythms that were unbelievable an original style never heard in rock & roll music he actually made use of the toms and the cymbals like no other... He is underrated imo.. I would have loved if they had done a few more tours even adding winwood

So glad these three men put their past disagreements behind them in 2005 and gave us a wonderful live show and taped it -- so we can watch it over and over. All three veteran rockers were blistering on this night. Jack -- great, great job mate. According to Roger Waters' -- Pink Floyd's bassist, who said several years back of Jack:...."then there's Jack Bruce - probably the most musically gifted bass player who's ever been." At least this time Waters' commentary got it right. If Cream fans run out of songs to enjoy -- don't forget Jack Bruce made several good albums with Robin Trower. RIP Mr. Bruce -- a truly great career.

+John LaStrada Jack Bruce is a bass legend, but definitely NOT the most musically gifted bass player who has ever been. Roger probably made that statement in terms of rock and blues bassists. The most musically gifted bass player ever is Jaco Pastorius.

what the fuck are you talking about, apart from asking me what i do as front of house SOUND Engineer ? well that would tell you straight up i do lighting or visual display wouldn't it ? i am a moderately successful live sound engineer, and by that i mean that i work mostly the festival circuit summer home here in US and then usually australia/NZ in there summer. i have never worked with any of the members of cream but was highlighting simply that ginger baker and john Bonham were my inspiration for taking up drumming (non professionally) and for taking up study to be a sound engineer. i work with different groups in different ways. At most festivals i have a stage that i am working for the day and a list in advance of who i will be working with. usually i will work a stage independently until the headline acts come on. most big name headline acts bring their own touring sound engineer who either wants you to assist or to bugger off, usually assist as you have the stage acoustics sorted from working with the other acts. assisting may be working an earpiece for someone, relaying messages from guitar and drum techs, helping to mic instruments and amps correctly for the stage or if i am really lucky standing back and getting tips and master classes from some of the best in the business, its the same as any other job you are always learning. i don't usually mention who i have mixed and i'm not about to start, but i have worked with many bands that trolls would call bullshit on as they seem to think no-one works front of stage , as a female in a very male orientated business also leads dickheads to call bullshit. but guess what i couldn't give a shit as i am living my dream job and if people like your work it is a great industry. By the way i still don't have a clue what the fuck you were really trying to say in your message ! the last person who tried calling me out i left tickets and a stage pass at the ticket booth and guess what no show, after pestering me for months they didn't show up. not doing that again. anyway see ya

my very car was a nineteen. seventy mustang. It was gorgeous! I was very happy to have two 8 tracks left from the previous owner. one was the Cream. Me and my girlfriends use to ride around and listen to that tape and smoke pot. What fun days. I live in Colorado now, and pot is legal so I can share that.

Why were 8 tracks called 8 tracks? Serious question! was it because they could only fit 8 audio tracks on? im 45 years old and missed that format...

mainly used in cars it gave out a 4 x 2 track stereo sound on the 8 track wide magnetic tape. So the tape was capable of recording 8 seperate tracks on its width and the 8 track players as I said usually built into cars were the only thing capable of playing it, I only ever bought Dark Side on 8 track circa '74. Bloody expensive too... read more at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/8-track_tape

Clapton is a virtuoso! He makes up improvised riffs in the song. The riffs are spontaneous and aurally orgasmic. Claptons voice is SO much better now. Since Jimi died, he's the best living guitarist of all time!

Stefan Barbu SRV is not that good, skill wise yes, as a songwriter he's okay . Clapton during bluesbreakers-cream-blind faith -derek and dominos outshines SRV period.

True, SRV as a guitar player did not invent as much new techniques or music as what Clapton or Hendrix did.

There are a lot of people who play guitar. There are very few guitar players. Clapton is one.

I make the distinction between a 'guitar player' and a 'guitarIST'. I am a guitar player (fairly good as a rhythm player, a little fingerstyle on a couple of songs, but can't solo worth a damn). Eric Clapton is a guitarIST.

I loved how there was no one in the lobby, buying a drink, using the restroom, smoking etc.. The bartender and the usher were all by their lonesome. When do you go to a rock concert and not see foot traffic in the lobby? Lol.. Even in their twilight years, Cream are the 3 great genius musicians that are still captivating generations.

Makes me happy seeing the crowd filled with OGs, probably getting flashbacks from their youth . And also young folks repping that 60s style, we won’t ever get music like this again. Long LIVE CREAM!

One of the most recognizable riffs -- ever. A fantastic live performance from my favorite band of the 1960s. In my humble opinion, Eric was at his very best with The Cream. I liked Eric's work with John Mayall and his Bluesbreakers, as well.
