it's refreshing to hear musicians that re-interpret songs during live performance rather than playing the same as in the recording.
So different from the original, and yet somehow still just as incredible!
Wow, starting at 8:12, it's almost as though the trio begins emulating sidechain compression! The first beat is filled by the kick drum alone and then the next two beats are filled by the bass and piano; it's as if the kick is somehow silencing (or 'ducking') the other two instruments. What a spectacular effect!
Whilst I don't think that they have, they could have just done that live.
There's a band called Submotion Orchestra that have a LOT of amazing processing done live, including side-chain compression on the bass, triggered by a kick.
Whats cooler even is that Tigran is muting the strings with his hands
