Totally agree on the Nissan Leaf, we have a 2017 that has 70k miles. It got down to 7 bars so we had it checked out and we are getting a new battery under warranty. Only problem is that it will take 6 months to come in but it’s still gets about 70 miles per charge so it’s still usable for local errands.
Great information Chad, especially for those of us with little to no EV experience. Vehicles like the Leaf also come into consideration more and more as the Aptera lead times push out. Thank you.
I just bought a 2015 Nissan Leaf with about 50 miles of usable range for just $3400. The car is in great shape. The prior owners took great car of it. I have put about 600 miles on it and just love it. My plan is to keep driving it until my Aptera is ready.
Good points Chad! The value totally depends on the buyer's needs, charging capability, and expectations. The Leaf can really be a great value for someone who has daily driving needs where they only drive a few miles a day, and can charge up overnight at home, or at work. Used, low priced, low mileage Leafs can also make a great second or 3rd "around town" car, for errands, shopping, etc. Getting a relatively new, reliable EV for a few thousand dollars. Just do your research online first.
I want to be more warm on the LEAF, warmer than its badly temperature managed battery pack. If the battery had some active temperature control and a basic cell voltage balancing mechanism I would already own one. However I'm keeping my eyes peeled for a cheap Mitsubishi iMiEV/Citroen CZero/Peugeot iOn at least the engineering in those kei cars are proving their worth and longevity. Ghosn had cheaped out the LEAF and god knows why they kept the battery so underenginered after 14 years of production
@@dtlsame here. 10 years, 98.000 km, 128 km range in summer and 100 km in winter. Perfect daily drive. And it is bigger than it seems. Can pack 5 people and lots of stuff.
Doing videos while you're working? Good job.
Double dipping!

We love our Leaf. No issues here in Michigan. I understand they had issues in very hot climates
