Red Bull Sōlus, one of the most mentally and physically challenging contests in skateboarding, is back for a third year. From the mind of Ryan Sheckler, this digital skate competition challenges 17 of the top pros and amateurs to deliver their best continuous line at Sheckler’s private skatepark, the SC Sandlot. Here is Margie Didal's run.
On June 6-8, each of the competing skaters were given one hour at the SC Sandlot to film their best line - no music, no other skaters, and no knowledge of who else is competing in the competition. They're just stuck with their thoughts, their time limit, and James Craig, this year's official Red Bull Sōlus timekeeper and emcee.
This competition format, combined with the new blood featured in this year’s roster, has resulted in the best Red Bull Sōlus to date.
Margie Didal has gone from picking up a skateboard at the age of 12 in the Philippine city of Cebu, to becoming the first Filipino to join the X Games in 2018, building her own skatepark in her hometown, and even representing her country on the biggest sporting stage of all when she qualified for the Games in Tokyo. It just takes one look at her Red Bull Sōlus entry to see why it’s all worked out for her.

Our judges, Vanessa Torres, Mike Sinclair, and Jason Rothmeyer, will evaluate each video based on style, progression and creativity.

great run! love margie and her personality. Only thing I'm missing this year are the shots of the timer, loved seeing how much the skaters could do in 20/30/40 min or the emotion of a last minute make

Love the fact that a legend is casually rooting and backing up Margie here while enjoying every bit of her run. Such a cool and awesome dude James is and a highly talented dudette of a Margie we've got.
Who is that old man? I love him. He is becoming my favorite part of this. He is a genuine cheerleader actually rooting for each skater. You can hear it in his voice.

Seeing the other girls skate I've started to thing that this park was a bit too hard for them but Margie really put down some heavy tricks. Well done!

I can still clearly remember, Go Skateboarding Day 2013, she did a trick on one of the spots in Cebu. She bailed and the board landed straight up between her legs, and she just said "I got no balls" in vernacular. Couldn't remember if she actually landed that trick but we all kinda new that she's really good and that she's going to go far.

For years I’ve known about Leticia Bufoni, Rayssa Leal, Sky Brown, and a bunch of other “household names” of female skaters really pushing the sport and quickly closing the talent gap with the males. But I’m mind-blown that I haven’t heard of Margie! She’s incredible and so deserving of the win!
