The M140i is insane value for money. Costs £20000 less than the RS3 / A45 and costs the same as the Golf R. The sweetener over the R is that slick 3.0L 6 cylinder motor, plus it's the only rear wheel drive car in its class (a must for enthusiasts!) Staggering machine, and a JB4 stage 2 plugin takes it to 430BHP for just £550.

Ok, so these tests were obviously carried out on different times of the day with different levels of fuel, Golf R showing 3/4 of fuel with +5deg outside temp, 140i showing less than 1/2 tank of fuel with +23deg outside! these will make a difference to the timings obviously!

I think the Golf R was pointing 45 degrees downward!! Ha ha. These ‘tests’ are just nonsense. As others h as said, completely different road conditions, different tyres, different fuel loads and different time of the day/temperature. A little bit of fun viewing and that’s all.
