Got it early on Monday and could not put it down since! I started to rewatch the animated series episodes in between reading it and playing the ost on the background when reading. It truly feels like a continuation of the series! Great way to keep Kevin Conroy, Arleen Sorkin and other voice cast members who have passed away alive by revisiting these stories.❤
I can hear the voice actors, sound effects, and orchestra in my head just looking at these pages. This version of Batman is very near and dear to my heart.
Oh man... this is a beautiful collection of gorgeous, cartoon-y superhero art. Fingers crossed this stays in print long enough that I can snag it for Christmas!
So this looks amazing especially because of the layout always having the front cover on right hand side so you feel like your actually reading the actual comics. I wish all omnibus and masterworks editions followed this layout format.
Been looking forward to this one for 3 decades now! I did also want to mention that writer Michael Reaves (TMNT, Real Ghostbusters, Gargoyles) also passed away earlier this year. In addition to his novels, live action work and writing for Batman TAS, he also came up with the story for issue 21 of Batman Adventures and co-write on Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, such as the scene were Bruce pleads with his parents at their grave site that when he made the promise to avenge them at Batman, he didn't count on ever being happy.
This was a wonderful review. This whole omnibus brings back so many memories of me watching the show as a kid. Oh gosh, I loved the show so much growing up. That was my first introduction to Batman, Robin, Batgirl, etc. I'm hoping the pre-order and re-order numbers are good enough for DC to print the other Batman comics in omnibus format.
Love the art in this one - a refreshing change from many other Omnis. You have convinced me and I have ordered this one. Your enthusiasm is contagious!
I recall having a few of these singles when I was a kid. I never had an original issue 12 though. Missed that one lol. I'm going to have to get this to have more of some of the best Batman stories. Something for my son to read also! Gotta pass these things on so every generation can know how amazing this is!
This will go well with my X-Men Adaptations omnibus. Great nostalgia, art, and stories in these collections! Mad Love and Mask of The Phantasm are worth it alone!
My copy is on the way in the mail now. I've never read this but am a huge fan of Batman: The Animated Series. I cannot wait to read this. It's gonna be a fun Batman Day come the 16th.
I collected this run as it was coming out. At least the issues I could afford as a broke elementary age child buying comics with my lunch money lol. I remember being amazed that this was running alongside the cartoon and the main comics. I was trying to save some money because I have the trades but as soon as you opened that beautiful book and flipped through a few pages, I just had to go ahead and order a copy. How can I love Batman and not double dip.
I’m so excited to see this book is finally out! Great overview of the book. Mike Parobek was an awesome artist, you should check out his JSA and El Diablo work too.
I bought and still have and reread all of the comics collected in this edition. It is without doubt one of the best Batman books ever put out by DC and is somehow a tribute and a love letter to every era of the character from the noir crime early days to the modern Dark Knight. It has impeccable script clarity and clear, linear visual storytelling. In short, it is good old fashioned comic books. I would recommend this to anyone who hasn't read these before. Buy it and fall in love with the character all over again. An absolute classic series.
@@Yoko.Kurama Mostly tightly plotted, single issue stories with occasional two parters that managed to hit all the right notes of characterisation and drama in the same way comics did when they were new and exciting, before companies realised they could sell multiple issue arcs that stretched stories out to absurd lengths to resell afterwards as trade paperbacks. Every issue was satisfying and usually compelling and pretty much definitive Batman stories with all the visual impact of the animated series it was based on. These were comic books in their purest and most satisfying form.....
My copy is en route. I hope they keep going and collect the mini series and the Gotham adventures run. They NEED to have a Superman adventures omnibus.
Odd that it doesn’t include the text sections by Bruce Timm where he explains how some “naughty bits” had to be cut from the HOLIDAY SPECIAL and the MAD LOVE story. They do include them on the DANGEROUS DAMES & DEMONS trade paperback from 20 years ago (which also includes a Foreword by Dini)
I had a book that collected like the first volume of issues. I recognize those first several issues you were flipping through. Might have to pick this one up.
one of if not THE best looking omnibus dc has ever made, shoot maybe even compared to marvel omnis too! had it preordered for about a month and im dying to get this in, plus now I can sell my tpb's to free up some shelf room too :)
I'm not a Batman fan, but I just had to get this. I knew Mike Parobeck (what an awesome guy who appreciated his fans) and loved his work so absolutely needed this in my collection. Even working on a custom omni of his work to include some letters he wrote me on copies of his pencils. He is greatly missed!
We have a great respect for Ty Templeton , his art from the first issues are amazing and also have great respect for Mike Parobeck..an amazing artist 👏👍🏅👍🥇🏆👌🎖
I did a video about The Batman Adventures, calling it the best Batman comics series ever. The fact that it's the most popular comics video on my channel from last year just feels sooo right. Still stand by that statement and I'm incredibly grateful that we got this omnibus. Best comic release of the year, by far!
FOMO Alert. It's not available at IST, is a special order at CGN, and is on back order at OPB. I figured it would sell out, but it's trending to that much faster than expected.
Batman Adventures Continues is an ongoing series so we might be a few years away from an Omnibus. But there is still plenty of BTAS comics material to cover before getting there. There's The Batman and Robin Adventures. Gotham Adventures (which follows season 4 and precedes Adventures Continue by 20 years or so) and Batman Beyond.
I grew up with the Justice League animated series. So,my ultimate crush was Wonder Woman. Not Barbara or Harley lol. Also, this omni is tempting. I LOVE the show. So yeah.
I'm tempted but will wait to see how the price falls. One thing that DC did right with their cartoon and create new stories in the style of the programme, unlike marvel who ould only think of doing adaptations with so so art.
I have a large number of the comics the Batman adventures single issues maybe like 40 issues, some in Romanian language some in English some in German...still I will also try to get this omnibus
I initially passed on this due to the pricepoint. Then FOMO got to me after it sold quickly and I thought it I would have to wait for long while. Got a copy 3 weeks ago and just finished it. I thought Batman: Sub Zero was collected in it, but Mask of The Phantasm was the right story. Just like sitting home and watching the series in the 90's.

One could argue this version of Batman defeats the whole Marvel universe 🫢
This book probably smells like my childhood
Like macaroni and syrup
@fishin4bass2002 you know damn well what it means! lmao
Hamburger helper and orange soda
Mine smells like Ruffles chips (sour cream and cheddar flavor) and Clearly Canadian (mountain blackberry flavor).
Like Doritos, pop tarts, and koolaid bursts then?
Oh man... this is a beautiful collection of gorgeous, cartoon-y superhero art. Fingers crossed this stays in print long enough that I can snag it for Christmas!
that's my hope as well!
Do these things often go out of print fast? I'm not very familiar with comics
That's a really great metaphor Dennis O'Neil uses to describe comics, I'll definitely remember that one.
My 3 year old daughter is hooked on batman. I got her into the TV show and I bought this book and I read her bedtime stories
getting her hooked on peak from a young age. so cool 😎
You are a great father raising her with the best childhood 🙏
W father
Congratulations....such a great idea 🏆🏆🏆🥇🏅🥳🎖️🎄🎄
Kevin conroy and Mark Hamil is my favourite Batman and Joker. Looking at this getting serious animated series vibes. Hope its a decent read.
The animators did half of the work though.
So this looks amazing especially because of the layout always having the front cover on right hand side so you feel like your actually reading the actual comics. I wish all omnibus and masterworks editions followed this layout format.

That is ONE AWESOME omnibus!!! Thanks you very much, Omar!!! A must-have!!!

This one goes straight to my 'Top 5 omni' list. And to my shelf, of course.
Just got it today ! One of the very best omnibuses ever ! Instant classic ! Thanks for the great review, Omar !
Is it a good start for a beginner comic reader? I loved the show and want to start reading more stories

Just seen the news that *Batman: The Aimated Series* is coming to Netflix in the UK in November 👌 fits together nicely

I really wish DC would put out a deluxe edition of that Justice Society mini. It's fantastic.

How long are the stories in this? Like how many issues per story? From what I understand all the stories are standalone. I'm new to this

Love this collection. Not trying to rush but I am really looking forward to the Superman For All Seasons overview!
Great review. I can't wait to read these in omni format. I hope DC does the other animated-based comics as omnis or compendiums.
Man that looks really cool.
Superman Adventures next please!
Some of the best Superman imo 😊
Now that would be awesome. I LOVE the Mark Millar written stuff from that a lot. Easily my fav Superman run hands down.

Hope there’s a volume 2 with Batman & Robin adventures in future
Outstanding
Gotta be the best omni cover, you just can't beat that image
This book looks amazing!
I've been waiting for this omnibus. Can sell my collection now.
LOVE THIS! I can hear The Animated Series music. :)
Mine is on the way!
My biggest regret? Is that I will never get to meet Kevin Conroy and have him sign that beautiful cover... 😔
Mark’s still around.
Love the cover on this - got my copy a couple of days ago :)
I can't wait to have it in my collection, next week!!! 🥺

Nobody asked 😊
One of the Omnibus I've been eager to get all year.
Excited to hear more about this one!! Nostalgia tripping HARD
omg I NEED THIS !!
I had a book that collected like the first volume of issues. I recognize those first several issues you were flipping through. Might have to pick this one up.
I was in college in the 90s so I didn't have time or money to immerse myself in comic books. This is gonna be a fun read.
one of if not THE best looking omnibus dc has ever made, shoot maybe even compared to marvel omnis too! had it preordered for about a month and im dying to get this in, plus now I can sell my tpb's to free up some shelf room too :)
Mine is in the mail! I still have a good amount of these in single issues from back when they first came out.
This is a must have omni for me!
Looks fantastic, a definite purchase.

Sensacional! Esperando ansiosamente chegar aqui no Brasil.
Ughhhh! I really want this book too!! It looks awesome!!
Man, that thing is SICK! ❤🎉
Gorgeous. Tons of great artists inside but I'm really glad that Mike Parobeck's artwork is getting a chance to shine in such a nice format.
you speak so passionately about this book!
Any chance they'll follow this up with a possible batman and robin adventures omnibus?
Looks like a must have! Especially if you watched BtAS
We have a great respect for Ty Templeton , his art from the first issues are amazing and also have great respect for Mike Parobeck..an amazing artist 👏👍🏅👍🥇🏆👌🎖
I got this and Xmen immediately when they went up for pre-order. Honestly I hope I can get all the animated series from the 90s/00s as an omnibus.
Hi !!! Do you believe that other Batman animated series titles can be published in omnibus format ?
Is there a big chance for a vol 2 continuing the series?
I would love more omnibus covering all of the dcau comics
Can’t wait 👍 where you put it on the bookshelf?
Incredible book with great art and fun stories

RIP Kevin Conroy ❤😢
Because we love Batman the animated series so much we also made several life size sculptures with characthers from the series
Can't wait until this comes in. Also, this makes me hope for a Batman Beyond vol 1 and 2 omni.
Didn't take long for the news about the compendium to come out :)
The best part will be hearing the HolyCowAmazingVoiceTalent!!! In my head while I read this tome....can't wait!
It’s not available on IST anymore 😢
FOMO Alert. It's not available at IST, is a special order at CGN, and is on back order at OPB. I figured it would sell out, but it's trending to that much faster than expected.
Awesome!
Which comics/ stories come after this omnibus? Are they collected in an omnibus as well?
Was gonna wait til 🎄 to get this but had to pull the trigger asap 🤩
Definitely gonna sell the TPBs I got about 5 years ago and pick this one up. :)
How are the stories ? Are they actually good or are people buying it for nostalgic purposes? The art is fantastic!
Hi! In my opinion, first numbers are GREAT but after 15 issues or so, things go WORSE.
@@Elric83 thanks for the feedback. Ill probably pass on this for now till i read all my unread stuff then look for a cheap 2nd hand one later.

how are we supposed to afford all these awesome books!!!!!???
9:05 - WHOA WHOA WHOA, for a second I thought this comic had a crossover with the House of Mystery. I mean those two look exactly like Cain and Abel!
