I've been playing this song for hours , an endless loop. I dont know what it is but there is something in it, its so intoxicating. A sad intoxication that grips you and cradles you down a path of darkness.
And you still can't stop listening to it. Between the subtle drums, the light techno, and the powerful string pieces, it holds something over you that you just can't resist. It promises adventure, hope and fear beyond your wildest dreams. You dare not look upon it, yet you cannot turn away. It is calling... DRAMA!
"It's been a long time Cheza..... You can sense my presence can't you? Although your eyes cannot see me..... There is nothing to fear. You are awake now, at last.......... We can finally set out on our journey....." Love this anime, the ost and find Darcia in my top 2 Steve Blum perfomances, The other being Eikichi Onizuka.
Andrew Pratt Fun Fact: In many cartoon, Steve Blum is known for his role as Vilgax from Ben 10, Starscream from Transformers Prime, and many other characters he voices.
I know mate. In 2012 he actually held the Guinness world record of having performed most animated voice roles. He's also a great animation director. I have even had the distinct pleasure to meet him. He's an amazing and friendly guy.
I remember being totally engrossed and in awe of the story of Wolf's rain as a middle schooler, when it first aired in the States. I also remember how I had a seething hatred for Darcia as a character, and thought he had absolutely no right to act the way he did. As an adult, I now understand the pain of loss he carried in his heart, and that it constantly drove him to do things he would otherwise never really care about. I still hate him, but I understand how a man could let himself be consumed like that.
1 great line of his that has always stuck with me is when he and Kiba are talking in his keep. He ask " why do u seek paradise?". Kiba simply says " a future". Darcia's response....." I no longer have a need......for a future." Still gives me shivers cause I know the feeling of hopelessness in despair.
I really enjoyed how he was presented like a villain, but in reality he was more a victim than villain. His story reminds me of The Abominable Doctor Phibes movies. Their actions are driven entirely by the love for someone they lost. His story was so sad but captivating to me when I saw this when it came out while I was in school. I just recently watched the entire series show again.
Oh hell YES. Glad someone had the balls to upload this again to YT. Though I dunno it's gonna last on here before someone brings up some copyright BS. BUT STILL. God damn the memories... I remember first seeing this YEARS AGO and I still watch it for old times' sake. BLESS YOU, YOU NURA-KUN DESU~
I remember this; This was the good man, from that to becoming the perfect villain. I think it is very easy to change polo ... the difficult thing is to remain unshakable.
Oh, so glad to see you again, brother. Come, let us sit and recall the old times. Let the melancholic nostalgia hit us right in the feelz. Oh yes, brother; Let us drink. Today is a good day.
I know this is very similar to that Armstrong guy's song, but having listened to both multiple times now, this is just flat out way better. Every time Kanno takes something she makes it better (Cyberbird is way better than Battersea, sorry). Like, I should be more hard on her but she just does more compelling things with the music than the original composers do
Armstrong Guy? 😂 I actually agree with the fact that Kanno makes her music great .. but Craig Armstrong is a literal Goat put some respect on his name (joking obviously) well kinda 😂
How funny. I've been watching Wolf's Rain and was hoping to find this exact track and you posted it 2 days ago. Guess the copyright has been hitting people hard huh?
Alot of Yoko's songs and soundtracks have been removed lately. I was looking for the old ghost in the shell stand alone complex soundtracks , many were removed
Great catch, Yoko samples alot. She has sampled some musical greats like Bjork, Hooverphonic, and others. I was unaware of the original for this. Thank you
To those enjoying these songs and wanting to be able to always have access to them, I recommend using a youtube to mp3 converter website or smth so you can download these songs and keep them in your computer. That way if copyright bullcrap ever causes them to get taken down again, you can still listen when desired.
I have a living memorie of one version of this OST, start with a beatifull notes of piano, slow and peaceful piano notes, then start the secuence of 1:11 Someone remember too?
Hard to describe the range of emotions this tune digs up

Reads like poetry doesn't it. That voice combined with the ost... you have yourself a truly cinematic moment.

I used to hate him, until I realised that I was him. That's when my actions reduced to self pity and wallowing despair.

@@kacey4k He was still a villain, no matter his background, actions are everything, and mentality
Same here ❤ I was in love with this series and witch hunter Robin@@kacey4k
the entire OST is perfection
This track is godlike
Lord Caim that's Yoko Kanno for you, any anime I see that she composes music for I automatically know it will be amazing
Craig Armstrong - Finding Beauty

So far so good with the Wolf's Rain OSTs. I have had a few removed but not for almost a year now.
This track still makes me emotional when I hear it
I remember this; This was the good man, from that to becoming the perfect villain. I think it is very easy to change polo ... the difficult thing is to remain unshakable.
This Craig Armstrong remix is tight!
Oh, so glad to see you again, brother.
Come, let us sit and recall the old times.
Let the melancholic nostalgia hit us right in the feelz.
Oh yes, brother;
Let us drink. Today is a good day.
The first adult anime i ever saw as a kid, 0:54 makes me feel like im 10 years old again
Toward the ending it sounds like finding beauty.
It's funny. Wolf's Rain was released a year after Finding Beauty came out on the album As If to Nothing. I don't think it was any coincidence.
More like 80% of it lol
I appreciate folks like you in the comment section. Thank you, for helping me find a masterpiece.
@@stumethod Both took from a song from a 1970s movie.....so....
@@Godravage Really? What was the name of the song?
Listening to this masterpiece gives the exact impression that you are really into reaching a certain goal. In this case, the paradise
Thank Craig Armstrong
Craig Armstrong - Finding Beauty
I like this more than Craig's
@@disguy3232 I don't think that's what he meant.
@@disguy3232 its a rip off, lol
@John Dereck Erames awww, dont be mad.
the witch hunt is unwarranted Arpeggios do not belong to anyone. This is clearly a cello and violas while Armstrong's are violins and violas.
1:11 always hits hard
Bless you for posting this song, because it's my flippin favorite! I thought it would be gone forever!
What I wouldn't give for an extended version
Craig Armstrong - Finding Beauty
Used to have on yt
That anime was exceptional ❤
Another great track from a great show.
I love this song so much 💙
About time someone posts this song again lol
"It's alright. You are safe now..."
High Wynd "you can feel my presence can't you? Though your eyes do not see me"
I found Lord Darcia interesting as a villain and things that he did because of his past which was full of pain and suffering
This will always transport me back to watching anime in the early 2000s
Amazing
Wow I was like "yeah that thing that this was straight up copying Craig Armstrong's "Finding Beauty" does not hold up at all" and then 1:11 drop. WOW.

If you want the whole version, this is originally from Finding Beauty by Craig Armstrong!

An underrated anime with an incredible soundtrack
This music always makes me cry ;) it is beautifull
This would make for a brutal walk-out theme for a fight.
Omg.... I've been looking for this for so long! Thank you so much!

One of my favourites

Oh look it's my comment. I must be on my yearly listen to this track.
Darcia is the best woofs reign

I’m trying so hard to see if there’s any sheet music or some way I can learn this on the piano but I can’t find anything
DARCIA HAS ENTERED THE RING
The Dark Souls of anime
This track would go well with Final Fantasy 7 the remake or even advent children
Especially for Vincent
Should I watch the anime or read the manga first?
Yes you should
The manga and anime are both completely different but retain the same plot, finding paradise.
Anime
Anime %100 percent the story is beautiful enough but the music in it make it superb
@@carlamoreira5393 That and The Manga's plot feels really disjointed when compared to the Anime.
