ah the beautiful sounds of ka'au crater boys and beautiful sista Robi. What a time to be alive. My father gifted this cd to me as a kid. Been playing ukulele since I was 4 because of this group.
troy is such a pioneer. that uke tone and style is as legendary as it is unmistakable and effortless for him. both their originals and their covers were set apart hugely in part due to his constant uke licks that both added another element to the track yet didn't distract or detract from it. much love to both of them, rest in love uncle ernie.
Awesome instrumentalist with a GOLDEN voice. Few voices that can move us like his could. Rest in love Uncle Ernie Cruz...mahalo for helping to inspire today's musicians and the future ones, too.
RIP Ernie. I could not believe when my wife told me this morning that you passed. I always watched your videos. Your kind demeanor and impeccable, superb style playing the uke is unsurpassed. So magical, so brilliant! Your music will live on forever.
Mahalo for posting this. I was there in the crowd. In fact, asked Ernie to dedicate, He ono la, to my cuzzin Kini Boy in which he did. Mahalo Ernie, RIP my Bradda!!
Prayer's go out to the Cruz Ohana! He was such a Great Musican and the crater boys. He will be missed another great talent player. Rip Erie on the Wave At lease you got to do what you do best surf the wave.
