Red was my favorite character from the show! I watched the show when it was on HBO as a kid. Still have a VHS with a couple episodes on it that I show to my daughter. Feeling nostalgic :)
Thankyou Mr. Hardwick, Ben Folds Five, and everyone who came together to make the music video and behind-the-scenes! I missed the fraggles for a long time and this got me going to see a few episodes I haven't seen since my saturday morning cartoon days. Thankyou nerdist, again, for all your extraordinary programming! Like, like, like!!
The Fraggle Puppets were made just for this, the only remaining puppets are in museums. I'm sure they also remade them for other projects with the 30th ann.
Love, love.... Oh soooo much! Childhood Fraggles- yes first time round.... Ben Folds Five at Uni, smashing the piano on The Midday Show in Aus... 1999 - the year I graduated. Wetting myself seeing Ben do a cameo for the final season "back" in Aus for Spicks and Specks, AND NOW NERDIST PULLS THIS OFF?!?!?! Thanks Chris & the team & all involved. Yep Red, you are STILL my fav! And as always, Brilliant song, & awesome, keep me thinking lyrics. Ben, you ARE a genius!.
Chris talking about how excited he got, repeating "We're making new Fraggle Rock! We're making new Fraggle Rock!" gave me chills. (I watched it first run, too...but at my Aunt's house who had this new thing on TV...called HBO.)
Love this so much. Fraggles!!!! And the cherry on top...who knew Chris Hardwick could get even cuter?! Totally endearing that childlike excitement about Fraggles. Yay!
If you are over 30 and you ever want to weep openly, do a Google search for Jim Henson tributes. He will never be forgotten. What he and the people around him created will always come back to us. It will be rediscovered, over and over again. We have plenty of geniuses... We have so few true storytellers. He was both.
Yet, at Carnegie Hall for the Henson tribute, Whitmire was able to be both Wembley and Kermit, just as Dave was Uncle Matt and Gonzo. Face it, the only Fraggle performers who probably won't be in the new film are Kathy Mullen (retired, just like Louise Gold, Annie Sue's performer) and Jerry Nelson (deceased, like Jim Henson [Cantus, Convincing John], Richard Hunt [Junior Gorg], and Jerry Juhl [lead writer] before him).
I like the idea that it wasn't hard for them to fall into the groove of playing together again. It's like they're a natural phenomenon. Like thunder. :)
"yeah, those sound really great. um.... could i be in the.. video too? since i... is it alright if i..... (indistinct mumbling)" chris hardwick, you are the man.
Nah - you're not old...you're one of the exclusive club that was exposed to some of the funnest tv we EVER had...so much better than most of the stuff around now :)
I find it very illuminating how puppets are viewed at the Jim Henson company when even in the behind the scenes they are treated as real, living beings. Could any more positive rays of energy possibly come from this group?
I'd be worried about a new season, for two reasons: 1. The show had its well-deserved final ending, unlike many shows that are just outright cancelled. Anything below the high-quality standard set by the original series simply will not be acceptable & in today's world, most "remakes" of classic franchises force un-neccesary toilet humor where it is not needed, rely too heavily on CGI & pop culture references, and quite simply put are purely beneath the high expections set up for the franchise.
Dear Henson Co. and Nerdist Industries, Any shot at a Fraggle Rock short webseries? Sincerely, Everyone who loves this video P.S. Why can I only like this video and not click love?
I have a feeling Steve Whitmire (Wembley) wasn't there otherwise he'd have been giving the interview instead of Karen Prell (Red). I wonder if Jerry Nelson knew they were doing this before he passed away. It would have made him very happy the Fraggles were back together.
Oh it would have been awesome to have seen Gerard Parkes as well, when I saw him in the Boondock Saints, I didn't know he was in Fraggle Rock until Boondock Saints All Saints Day.
This brings up so many questions for me. Did they still have the Fraggles around, or did they have to refabricate them for the video? And were the performers ready to go, or did that have to recast characters? Or are the Fraggles doing smaller kinds of things all the time? Also, why does Red's voice sound distorted?
Actually Wimbley and Gobo were my favorite characters. I always hoped that one day the Henson company would finally make animatronics advanced enough that could control the puppets like robots and could have them walk around on their own like real people instead of just seeing half of them.
Wrong. Karen always had a Red on hand--heh--for promotional work, because her job with Pixar allows her to take time off to be one with her inner Fraggle, because Karen is the in-house Fraggle Rock fan for the Henson company. After all, it was she who composed the Encyclopedia Fragglia, detailing everything that's happened throughout the course of the brand's history.
nobody has heard fromkathy in years i think shes ill but pam arciero will probably take over dave and steve will be returning there is no way they will miss a chance to play these characters again
When Red said "Yeah!" I literally screamed! It was so adorable!! X3
*goes in a corner and fangirls to self*
That is pretty disturbing, even if I'm not very educated in the capabilities of fans.
LillybelleVoices please stay there
Dont worry I did the same. Who cares if this comment is 5 years old or some arse said that's disturbing
@@Ireland.sflover OKAY GOOD LMAO. People are just so rude bahaha
@@itsyaboithiccenby9 didn't expect you to be still active
I grew up in a PBS station, and even knowing The Big Secret of puppetry, it still never lost it's magic for me.
Literally sitting at work with tears in my eyes...I'm a 38 year old man. Never forgotten the magic, never will.
Red was my favorite character from the show! I watched the show when it was on HBO as a kid. Still have a VHS with a couple episodes on it that I show to my daughter. Feeling nostalgic :)
Mine too!
I love the fraggles. This is awesome and the song is great.
GOBO and RED were Always my FAV!!!
"Mr. Ben with the three.....and the other two once they show up"
this makes me so happy
Thankyou Mr. Hardwick, Ben Folds Five, and everyone who came together to make the music video and behind-the-scenes! I'm aware Henson made a new Red puppet. It was a few years back for promo shoots when they released a new line of clothing.
"Mr Ben with his three and the other two once they show up."
A great note to end on; made my day. :)
The Fraggle Puppets were made just for this, the only remaining puppets are in museums. I'm sure they also remade them for other projects with the 30th ann.
well its very common for them to remake puppets or to fix them on set cause something happened, so that doesn't really surprise me.
The fourth and fifth members of the Ben Folds 5 are Fraggles. That's why they've never been seen before!
this is magic
This ROCKS! Seeing Ben Folds Five and Fraggle Rock together is genius. Mr. Chris Hardwick you have done it again.
I just saw Ben Folds Five at Central Park a few days ago, and now this is released. I don't think I've ever smiled this hard in my life

And to promote the show's DVD release as well as its short return to TV during The Hub's 2010-2011 season.
I love and miss Fraggle Rock. I used to watch it in French (my first language) and English (my mom's language). RIP Jim Henson. Great video.
Long Live Ben Folds!!!!

The fact that this video exists is one of the reasons that "life" was on my list of things I don't like but now I think is ok.

Dude I’m 18 and I would weep openly at Jim Henson tributes. He was truly the master of his craft.
I love You Chris!!! You are Awesome I have been watching you on TV since MTV!! You are the Coolest Nerd Ever!!!!
I demand that "Mr. Ben With His Three And The Other Two Once They Show Up" be their official name now.
"Mr. Ben, with his 3, and the other 2 once they show up." lol
LOL, Red: "Video? ....wut?"
Yet, at Carnegie Hall for the Henson tribute, Whitmire was able to be both Wembley and Kermit, just as Dave was Uncle Matt and Gonzo. FragglevisionReturns It's not Matt Vogel as Gobo but the equally handsome and talented John Tartaglia

Yes, this makes me exponentially happier.
Wow. SO much awesome!

A super awesome band that you should definitely listen to. They're great, and pretty unique, with a piano player rather than a guitar.
That's pretty good.
Looking for a "Fraggle Rock" episode on this site led me to the music video itself and here.
Yeah- my mom saw Miss Piggy a long time ago at some exhibit and she said she was actually star struck and nervous. Awww.
LOVE THIS!!
This made my day.
squirrel girl, chris hardwick, fraggles, BFF OMF (fraggle) how did I never know this existed?
RADICAL!!!!
GNARLY!!!!
I came for Fraggles
I find it very illuminating how puppets are viewed at the Jim Henson company when even in the behind the scenes they are treated as real, living beings. Could any more positive rays of energy possibly come from this group?
So cool!
GOLLY!!!!
So, yeah, this happened... Un-freakin' believably A.W.E.S.O.M.E.

He performed the character when the Fraggles appeared in Carnegie Hall for the Jim Henson's Musical World concert.
I have a feeling Steve Whitmire (Wembley) wasn't there otherwise he'd have been giving the interview instead of Karen Prell (Red). I wonder if Jerry Nelson knew they were doing this before he passed away. It would have made him very happy the Fraggles were back together.
WAY COOL!!!!
Ben Folds Five is FUCKING AWESOME!
Awesome! Just noticing the audio with some of the interviews sounds doubled up.
Oh it would have been awesome to have seen Gerard Parkes as well, when I saw him in the Boondock Saints, I didn't know he was in Fraggle Rock until Boondock Saints All Saints Day.

YAY! I missed the Fraggles
OKGo had The Muppet Show and now The Fraggles what's next Muppet Babies perhaps
I agree wholeheartedly, and also, good user name :-)
When this new season comes out: Music by Ben Folds Five.
I can't wait till the Fraggle Rock movie comes out, and also the Sesame Street movie all in the works.
Actually Wimbley and Gobo were my favorite characters. I always hoped that one day the Henson company would finally make animatronics advanced enough that could control the puppets like robots and could have them walk around on their own like real people instead of just seeing half of them.
Either you're asking for new episodes or a new DVD. I regret to inform you that they released all the episodes.
At three minutes and thirty-six minutes my brain went into overload.
OMG!
RIP Jerry Nelson
I get it now. Doc's workshop was turned into a recording studio and that's why the Fraggles are underneath.
Chase Salyer mind blown
We all lone you, Red.
I think Nerdist has invented a jumbo-intator.
I was about to post this exact comment, haha. I'm glad someone else noticed it.
Long Live Jerry Nelson!!!!

Haha! At first--back around 1995-ish?-- I thought the name was some kind of card-playing reference!
Oh, the slapback sorta echoy thing? I heard that one of the band members' voices too...
Now all we need is the Doozers.
3:53 it looked like Red was having a stroke
great: 6:02
"Mr. Ben with his three and the other two once they show up."
- when they finally start showing up, since 1993? ;-)
He's either close to 30 or possibly older. I mean, the show began in 1983.
Sad, But True
LMMO!!!!
You might try Best Buy, or you could go to Barnes and Noble online.
That awkward moment when all the comments are responses and you have no idea what any of them mean...
it's kinda weird that Henson died 3 years after Fraggle Rock ended
#FraggleRockForever
Nothing is a coincidence.
Red
Red
he probably will be voiced by Matt Vogel in the future :)
That would make sense, since it's Folds, not Fold's. Could be a bit of word play, it's his last name, but it's also a verb.
11 years ago!?!?!?!
Wimbley was definitely the best Fraggle. No contest.
When ARE the other two band members showing up?
30TH ANNIVERSARY OKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK NO YES FRAGGLES
HUZZAH!!!!
ZOMG FRAGGLES!!!!
Fraggles ROCK!
You to thank - 4:29
