    Another GREAT video!
    The only mistake here (and is a normal mistake In America) is to make a "Taco" with fish.
    the Mexican "tortilla" does not help with the fish flavors at all...is very practical indeed, but its own flavor overwhelm fish flavors...
    You are getting into a new world of flavors (Man, I encourage you to keep going!) I hope you are aware how big is your contribution to "eating better" for people.
    Trash Fish Vs Prime fish"...in your future cooking decisions always remember there's no trash fish.
    Normally "bait Fish" is the most flavorful fish (because fish are not stupid) if they are ugly, poisonous, full of bones...means they are protecting a "supreme taste".
    So, we need to learn the trick behind how to enjoy them.
    If they are a web of spines we can fillet them and spoon the meat out, making our new creation.
    If they are poisonous, we need to skip the poisonous part, and cook the flesh...
    If they are slimy or they rotten very quick, means their inside is great.
    Sometimes we skip the skin, when that part gives a superior taste protein (nutritional and tasty)
    And many times we skip the head or entrails, like the roe or swim bladder because we ignore their true value.
    Besides that, I strongly ask you:
    Be clear "Where are you fishing" so we have a good direction. Everybody dreams to replicate a stisfactory fishing day...
    Show "The things you use", and please put a link in descriptions so we gladly buy from your store, Saving fuel and "valuable time" buying from your store instead spending a day in Bass pro shop or Cabelas . (Don't feel ashy to do it, will be very appreciated, at the end is the most practical and cheap solution...just a clic away)
    Keep going on this direction, your show is getting better every day!!!
    Big Hug. (You've got a huge like, again!!)
    Fred.
    I will find you hopefully, and we'll catch (and cook) something together.
    So I can endorse what I say.
    LOL.

      Thanks man! I throw as many useful links in my video descriptions. The fish taco thing is a bit weird, and it ends up resembling nothing like a fish dish (fish omelettes anyone?)
      Always appreciate your take on it, thanks!

    • @fredfable5655
      @fredfable5655 6 лет назад +2

      FISH OMELLET!
      Man, you are beyond of your time!
      (Never heard, but great idea! LOL) Sounds great! (It deserves a try)
      About the useful links, location or etc. Just put them "inside" the video at beginning or end, because not everybody is aware how to deal with this "internet thing"...and it may be obvious for you, but is not really.
      Thanks for your response.
      And. finally, we thank you for what you are doing.
      Fred.

      Caught a 7lb halibut a couple weeks ago and made tacos. Pan fried strips of fish dredged in flour cornmeal and salt. Good corn tortillas, lime and cilantro crema,Pico de Gallo and guacamole. Delicicioso! California style

    • @mikec8086
      @mikec8086 6 лет назад

      It really depends on what sort of tortilla you use. Fresh homemeade tortillas will absolutely compliment fish. Store bought tortillas taste like chalk in comparison. Pico de Gallo on top of the fish is fantastic as well as a bit of salt and lime. But that's your preference on toppings.

    • @fredfable5655
      @fredfable5655 6 лет назад

      Yes, Almost NOBODY has a Mexican Abuela (grandma) still making home made tortilla.
      Is a fact. Industrial made tortillas are the standard, and not suitable.
      And Pico de Gallo ( or salsa criolla, or the name it has in hundreds of countries) ...depends...if you put flaming hot habaneros in it, there is no flavor to taste...just fire and tortilla.

    Here in Florida we have a fish that is referred to by some as a sand perch. We catch them offshore near to structure/reef but not on the structure/reef. They are only about 8-10" long. Very white firm flesh and very tasty. Don't know their range.

    "Crappy bucktail" ... "Some weekend warrior's bucktail' ... I don't know how you boys do it up north but down here in the south when fishing a wreck we rarely go with the $30+ lures and stick to the cheaper WalMart $2 tackle. Being as we know we're likely to lose tackle on bottom structure like that, we generally drop the "crappy" stuff and don't sweat it when it gets left down there.
    Other than that, I enjoyed your video. It's really cute how you guys (Yaks) peddle & paddle your little water bicycles out in search of fish. Very hipster.
