The devas asked Brahma for help, who then created Riddhi and Siddhi, and gave them in marriage to Ganesha. Riddhi is said to depict wealth and prosperity, while Siddhi stands for intellect and spiritual powers.
He is widely revered, more specifically, as the remover of obstacles and bringer of good luck; the patron of arts and sciences; and the deva of intellect and wisdom. As the god of beginnings, he is honoured at the start of rits and ceremonies.
Ganesha is a Hindu elephant head god who is one of the most revered gods in all of Hinduism and Buddhism. Ganesha was made from clay by his mother Parvati, who is the eternal wife of Shiva, the god of destruction and re-creation.
