Well, darn... I just learned of Stan’s passing tonight. Bummer. I really did enjoy his videos, and learned a lot from him as a new ham radio operator. In one of his videos, he asked if people would send him a letter, so I did. I didn’t think he would write back, but after several weeks, I got a letter from him in the mail. The letter itself was a bit hard to read, because of the shaky hand writing he had, presumably from the medication he was on for his Charcot foot that he had. Stan will be missed... that is for sure. Thank you Stan! R.I.P. es73!
I just purchased your book Beginner's guide to reading schematics and I am heartbroken to learn about your passing. Rest in Peace Stan. You will always be remembered.
Fully enjoy your videos I learn a lot from you on long wire anteneas I use them for my vintage radios from ww2 and up so I learned tonight to ground my long wire antes makes sense to me you exsplain things that I can understand perfectly how are you doing ?cheers
was able to make some contacts on 27.385 lsb about a week ago (Oregon to CA and more), so i imagine 10 meter was active at the time, it does trickle in from time to time. but yes its not all that much. have not made a 10 meter contact since may last year that was oregon to NV i have a low power station though and 10 meters is all i have for HF ham.
Hey Stan! I am amazed you heard nothing on 20 meters. What time if day was it again? Daytime i make several contacts to europe from 10 a.m. until sometime in the afternoon. Usually Saturdays when i am not working. Stay safe Stan!
Sometimes, dad-burn it, I am in a grumpy mood and I want to make a statement straightaway without any back-talk. Bah! Humbug! So there. 73 de Stan W1GV.
Hi find just listening is not always the best thing to do. Also it's not the best thing to do to become a scope head and watch a waterfall display. Get out there and call CQ 8 out of 10 times I'm successful.
Stanley Gibilisco, 66, of Lead, S.D., passed away on May 3, 2020. I was lucky to know him. 73 DE W8LV BILL
I loved his videos. What did he die of?

Also your video about the helical antenna is interesting. I made a set for getting better cell phone reception. Lol

Cannot recall the time of day. It does seem odd however. 73 de Stan W1GV.
In Texas 40 meters was and is hot today.
I guess you have to announce your presence with a CQ and see what happens.
Thanks ... sir..
I noticed you have turned off comments for some of your videos. Why?
