    Just followed your instructions and had the print cartridge problem. Ribbon was in the right place, but for those that continue to have this problem as I did. Make sure to go back to the beginning of the video where he locks the printhead and then turns the gear back to loosen it a bit and if you were having the print cartridge problem this should resolve it. Now time to buy more ink and my problem should be fully resolved. Thanks for the vid.

    You explained the counter ribbon not being in alignment. After many other vids of removing the print head/cleaning you were the only one to mention this very problem.. you earned my sub.

    Very nice and clear. I can add that it is possible to test printer without screws and cover only with control panel attached and placed anywere. Also after replacing of the head or cleaning it it is imortant to check were you have placed band with head position data. It can be misplaced and than printer will report that head is jammed and do not move while it is not jammed becouse control do not receive data of position. I advice to clear this band - it can be dirty after all these manipulatins.

    Hello, thankyou for the video on replacing the Officejet 4620 print head. It was very detailed! Unfortunately my printer is still not printing black ink. It still says I have ink, I have tried 2 cartridges and now put a brand new print head in, yet still the same issue, it just will not print :(. What else could be stopping this? is there something under the print head? such as the carry that would stop it printing . Sorry to send a message on ebay but i could not figure out how to do it on youtube.

    Many thanks for this video. On my HP 4620 black works fine, but I need to let the printer clean the printhead EVERY time before printing a photo, otherwise some colors are missing in the printed image. Also the yellow ink seems to get dirty inside the cartridge. I use clear cartridges and it seems that (black?) ink is getting into it through the printhead. I have another printer (HP b110) that has exactly the same problem. What could I do?

    Hi Paolo, thanks for the video. Our 4622 didn’t print black anymore (and eventually no more color as well). Disassembled the whole printer, manually cleaned the printhead, the purge pump and every other part which had ink on it. Still doesn’t print anything… any idea what else could be the problem?

    • @PaoloMarcelli
      @PaoloMarcelli  2 года назад +1

      Hi! If the purge pump can suck ink and nothing is blocking the conduicts it probably is a printhead issue, you can try cleaning it or eventually replace it. First reassemble everything then try to place some glass cleaner on top of the two sections of the cleaning pad, then rotate manually the purge pump gear and watch if it can suck ink on both sides.

    • @DavyVanoutryve
      @DavyVanoutryve 2 года назад

      @@PaoloMarcelli it sucks ink on both pads, as I cleaned the purge unit tubes intill nothing was blocking it anymore. Think we will buy a new printer 😁. Already spent quite soms time on this one. Thank you for the video, it was very clear how to do it. Unfortunately, it didn’t solve the problem.

The print cartridge cannot move. Open the ink cartridge access door , clear any paper or obstruction, and select OK.
    There was no obstruction or paper jam inside the printer. Don't know how to manage and manipulate my printer
    would you help me by a clear answer please

      Hi! Check that the encoder strip (a thin transparent plastic strip with vertical black lines on it) is positioned correctly and passes through a sensor behind the printhead. Check also the flat cable connections.

    • @hilmisuccari8847
      @hilmisuccari8847 3 года назад

      @@PaoloMarcelli Thank you for advise , but the problem was not the plastic strip and the sensor, it was, a tray positioned at the right of the printer beneath the carriage, obstructing the movement of the carriage.
      the new problem is on ore more cartridges missing or damaged in spite that the black one is a new one
      Any solution for the problem?

    I have bought a printer for cheap because it had the same printhead as my printer. But it was not used i think more than a year and the ink has totally clogged the nozzles. When i tried to clean it only the magenta passes a little bit of solution through. 99% of the printhead is clogged with dried ink. I have tried to submerge the bottom of printhead into hot water, then carefully inject distilled water with alcohol into it at all color locations but unfotunately the nozzles are completely blocked, i cant even inject the solution because of the air inside which is trapped isnide. I am afraid of pushing the syringe harder because i can tear the foil. Do you have any solution for this special case how to clean completely dried up ink from the nozzles? Thank you

    • @PaoloMarcelli

    • @PaoloMarcelli
      @PaoloMarcelli  2 года назад

      Hi! The CR Encoder strip is not in place correctly. It's a plastic strip that needs to pass through a sensor on the back of the printhead/carriage.

    • @theialgroup1371
      @theialgroup1371 2 года назад

      @@PaoloMarcelli Thanks for the comment. I noticed that you said as much in the video, although it wasnt clear where the strip needs to be. Does it need to be under that whole black plastic sensor, or, there is a groove going through the middle of plastic piece, horizontally - does it need to go through there?
      Also, could it not be something to do with the re-turning the cogs that were turned in order to unlock the cradle at the beginning?

      Mai usare alcool per pulire le testine di stampa :/ è inefficace sull'inchiostro. Usa del Quasar Vetri o un altro detergente per vetri come Vetril. Se il problema è solo sul nero controlla anche il funzionamento dell'unità di pulizia, segui il mio video sulla HP Photosmart 5520 in tal caso.

    In my 4620, nothing prints. No streaks, nothing. No error messages. All new drivers, new install. New black cartridge. The HP software has a tab that checks "printhead health". It tells me it's "healthly", but no ink is getting through so I have to assume it's just terminally plugged-up with old sticky ink. I've done about all the cleaning I can...cleaned the printhead while in the printer multiple times with electrical cleaner, alcohol, even acetone. Today I removed it entirely from the printer and soaked it in alcohol. Then placed the tub inside my ultrasonic cleaner! Lots of ink was flushed, but after installing, still nothing. No errors, software still says it's "healthy"...is it time for a new printhead?

    • @PaoloMarcelli
      @PaoloMarcelli  4 года назад

      Alcohol and acetone? Well... It might be the end of it| Use nothing but glass cleaner with ammonia, nothing different than that. never.
      Check the purge pump, refer to my video on the HP 5520 not printing black.
