- Recorded July 15th 2024 | On this weeks episode, ECU QB Katin Houser joins the show to talk the upcoming season and why he thinks the pirates could make it as far as the 12 team playoff.
Katin really seems like a great guy but I do question how happy he actually is to be here. I almost feel like his responses are just him telling us what we want to hear. I know it’s early but I certainly hope throughout the season he develops a passion for being a Pirate. We can’t and never have been able to rely on talent alone. You’ve got to care about more than just furthering your career to be successful at ECU. Just my thoughts, enjoyed the show. Go pirates 🏴☠️!
ECU has a path to the playoff. ECU must beat Appalachian State and liberty and both of them need to win their conference. Then ECU needs to win the AAC. At that point, the only G5 conference left would be the mountain west. It really depends on who their champion is and whether they’re undefeated or not.For example, Boise State wins the Mountain west and their only loss is to Oregon, Then they would probably win the the auto bid. However, a 13 win G5 would have the best chance to go.
@robertstwocents Believe it, Wyoming cowboys have a chance to beat Boise in Laramie . They return everyone on their top rated MW Conf defense . Conf champs or not this loss could knock Boise State out of the playoff hunt . Go cowboys !!

There is NO replacing them with the next best at large P4 team .
Additionally if a second G5 team finishes top 12 in the rankings, they are eligible for an at large bid putting two G5 schools in the playoffs. Of course this will not happen but is technically possible.
ECU was 5 and 6 in 1990. I’m sure there’s highlights from the 1991 season. Hauser, should watch those highlights for himself and then with the team. You gotta believe!
