Disclosure are honestly top guys, regular live streams explaining how they make their music and full set up tours and all, really helpful and interesting
Nothing bad can be said about this video.Nice guys, they know their tools, very good explaining and they actually seem to play a lot more live than i thought.
disclosure is really one of a kind for this generation. their styles are so vast and relateable through out so many different genres. I've never heard any one not like some style of their music. the settle album really brought me into a whole garage house style of music. thank you guys for being so passionate about your craft!
Extremely impressed...honestly probably my favorite live electronic artists, it's so visual and spacious and shows the beauty og playing live rather than a DJ playing a backing track...so much talent and so impressive!! I hope we have more electronic producers doing this live in the future!
I've been a fan since day one and I have all of their music. These are two of the brightest and best in music today! Would love to see them live one day. Thanks for the post.
Like I said, man. Check underground music, I've seen a lot of techno and house dj's who use a laptop, some synthesizers and a drum machine to make music.
Coxo Chary generally all edm artist have some sort of instrument background, of course some not but every show ive been too is in this kinda idea an direction from virtual riot to odesza. Now some are way better like these lads.
+King Pleazure the one he stole from my college lmao. Was in media the other day and our teacher shows us this 'old vid' and they are in it acting. I cracked up hahaa
When I heard "Control" and "Boiling" back in 2012, I've been hooked onto y'all ever since. Your songs were well-laced with crack and y'all kept dropping hits, one after another. It's been wild. Can't help but to dance along. I remember seeing you guys twice at the Union Transfer Center and loving that you guys brought me the same, if not better, intensity to us live. Not many others have done so to me in my opinion. So please for the love of everything good, don't stop the music, Disclosure. Got nothing but love for you guys.
The reason I fell in love with disclosure was because of settle being played live it is a spectacle seeing them do it and it sounding so good. So much better than their dj sets as they aren't fantastic djs but are fantastic live.
+Louis Bou Their Wild Life Miami set was actually very good, and they went on after Loco Dice who is an OG house dj who's been in the game for over a decade.
+Louis Bou Their Wild Life Miami set was actually very good, and they went on after Loco Dice who is an OG house dj who's been in the game for over a decade.
I really really really wish they told us how everything is routed with all those lap tops running the same thing. that is something I have been dreaming about doing but haven't dove into trying it yet. these guys kick fucking ass
This is dope! They've got it down man. The two laptop thing is clutch for the reliability aspect, the instruments they use and mix together are awesome as they all play a big role in their sound. Really cool video
+RobbinsEntertainment To see these guys be able to play electronic music as though they are a band defeats all these people thinking all electronic music is played by laptops and not doing anything to (of course the material here is run through laptops but they're doing so much more than normal DJs). I'm really impressed, I had no idea they had actually little to no playback at all and do a lot live.
Usually "pop," type producer play the simplest DJ sets, wave their hands a bunch, and then say how crazy cool their own shows are. Disclosure has actual live talent, doing actual things on stage, and don't try to "hype up," their shows. I have an insane amount of respect for them after watching this
i love this video. the take away for me is that i need to get better with the gear that i have. They really have simple equipment but they know it so well that they're able to make a big sound. Get good with what you have...and collaborate!
Lloyd said he wants that Sabian crash cymbal back now that you're rich and famous and can afford proper analogue synths. For those who don't know, Lloyd was Guy's Music Tech teacher at College. I was the department technician.
When people use ableton on stage, do they switch between different project sets between the tracks? Seems like that would take a lot of time. But if you have everything in one set, it must be even harder, correcting tempo etc.
I know you commented 6 months ago, but no, absolutely not. The goal is to organise everything into one session/project. Changing tempo between songs is quite simple in Ableton, it's a set and forget and the DAW handles it automatically. This is only really relevant if the musicians are performing alongside a backing track, and in this case, it looks like they just use Ableton as a connector for all of this hardware. Judging by this video, it looks like the majority of the music is performed live.
no, no and no. i extremely respect disclosure exactly for not playing it safe, not repeating settle and making something completely different with different points pulling the album as whole, leaving another remarkable standpoint in their career.
A3roTV yeh same but the quality wasn't there, don't get me wrong there was some quality tracks on caracal but it shows where the quality is when they play more settle tracks in their live sets.
Can anyone tell me the Software he's using to change All Patches in his set to match the song? Was just thinking how it would be nice to have software that could save all my gears patches in a bundle-folder etc while Im working in the studio.
im not asking what daw. ....but can you do that inside of daws? like, save your hardware patches that your using to create music within the daw so when you open said project it changes all your synths/machines to match.
Most synths that take any kind of MIDI and CC message can take messages to Program Change, which will tell it what bank and patch to use. Means you dont have to touch it, just play :)
Judea Rattet okay well neither of those answers were helpful or conducive to your question, but they use Ableton Live, and mention it a few times throughout the video. Now; I haven't the faintest clue on how they route all that midi. But Ableton Live is a great start to all that, since you can literally control everything from lighting to patch changes through automation
I hear you. Im sure you can do it with any major DAW. Ive been using Ableton for almost 10+yrs, recently Ive upgraded my studio to mostly Analog Kit, I just think it would be a great APP Idea, many people would get it. Ya know, press 1 button and everything that is running Midi into a project is collected and stored / next time you open 'said' project, all is as it was so you dont have to fiddle around and remember each pacht etc etc. If you know what Im saying you Know this would be a game changer. I also have an Idea for a Global Library-Sample auditioner - cross platform - for every daw running on your system (simple elegant sollutions that everyone wants) ...no I dont mean a sample editor/or librarian...something like Abletons Library but that works Globaly on your desktop for all things ITB. Anyway, thanks for your reply, peace.
what is he putting that mono tribe through!? it doesn’t usually have effects at all. i love that they couldn’t replace the little phatty with some soft synth.
Because they don't like Magnets and Nocturnal, they want more tracks like January. Caracal still delivers loads of awesome songs, like Hourglass and Holding On.
hey guys, does anyone know what sort of hardware/software Howard uses that changes settings of all the instruments around him with a click of a button from his MPK261? and could it be just patch settings from this "software" or the actually patch from the different synths?
Disclosure are honestly top guys, regular live streams explaining how they make their music and full set up tours and all, really helpful and interesting
Nothing bad can be said about this video.Nice guys, they know their tools, very good explaining and they actually seem to play a lot more live than i thought.
+beatz04 when i looked at the thumbs downs, I thought the same. I can't imagine anything negative about this!
mad respect for the two
who gives a fuck?
its a joke
yep but who cares essencially it's just for them, really they could be instrument-lipsyncing no one would know.
I know the pedal Howard! It's an Endangered Audio Research ad4096 Analog Delay ;)
+Greg The Avocets Wow, fair play man!
You keep giving me hope for humanity with great comments like this!
thanks!!
this video just furthers my respect for these guys

Karniboy yeah, but the problem is to get all this it is expensive as fuck^^ but it's still possible to do good shit with djing
So cool
1:17 gives me chills
Saw their show in Lisbon, very impressive
I've been a fan since day one and I have all of their music. These are two of the brightest and best in music today! Would love to see them live one day. Thanks for the post.
They are amazing live!
Disclousure is definitely one of those cases of what you can actually do with electronic music and live performances if you play instruments too
You should definitely listen more to less commercial music. Playing live with instruments is somewhat common.
***** not in the electronic music industry. atleast not for live performances.
Like I said, man. Check underground music, I've seen a lot of techno and house dj's who use a laptop, some synthesizers and a drum machine to make music.
LoLchilled09 I mean the main electronic scene. I'm very aware people can use laptops and synths to perform
Coxo Chary generally all edm artist have some sort of instrument background, of course some not but every show ive been too is in this kinda idea an direction from virtual riot to odesza. Now some are way better like these lads.
This One I Stole From College...#DOPE
+King Pleazure Sorry college! lol
+King Pleazure the one he stole from my college lmao. Was in media the other day and our teacher shows us this 'old vid' and they are in it acting. I cracked up hahaa
Not dope.
That makes them thieves.
@@akasickform P sure their professors don't mind seeing where they ended up...
That juno 6 square bass👌🏽
@13:37 just like AC/DC with their amps. Amazing full circle moment for music.
Guy is a really nice guy.

SO BEAUTIFUL.
When music theory intersects with House... man I love these guys.
Legends!
this is inspiring asf. one of the most fun and streamline setups i’ve seen.
thanks people for showing!
these guys are incredibly talented
POMO IN THE BEGINNING YAAAY
For those who were wondering , the music we heard briefly in the background is So Fine by Pomo , the DJ who made the first part in Lyon.
Mad respect for their live setup! I didn't realise how much of their music was made live and not from backing tracks.
such a good behind the artists look
just how much respect i have for these guys
Mad respect for these dudes

their very first dj set with scream is allright too, they dropped a couple of their unreleased stuff like Janet Jackson remix
Just saw these guys with this set-up at Belsonic in Belfast - awesome set and show. Brilliant live show!
Talent.
This was an awesome breakdown! Fascinating!!! Thanks Red Bull!
One of their grandads lives in dorking. I know them
One of the most interesting acts I've seen play live!
I really really really wish they told us how everything is routed with all those lap tops running the same thing. that is something I have been dreaming about doing but haven't dove into trying it yet. these guys kick fucking ass

Damn. That's an amazing live set up. I still have never seen them live. Now it's on my bucket list.
just noticed they're playing pomo in the background as the video switches from guy to howard. sweet song
Mystery Season he was the open act of the tour 🙏
Oh God this is SOO helpful ! Thank you honestly so much !
2020 still love this video
Awh, loved this. Thanks. Love Disclosure since day one
So glad I watched that
This is awesome. Really cool seeing what these guys are using during a live performance.
+RobbinsEntertainment To see these guys be able to play electronic music as though they are a band defeats all these people thinking all electronic music is played by laptops and not doing anything to (of course the material here is run through laptops but they're doing so much more than normal DJs).

Agree 100%
*"EVERYTHINGS broken"* Guy's the best
the guys are great, not only their tunes are killer, they also have great personalities
Love how they don't hype up their shows in the slightest... "stupid ending things, in a really over dramatic style"
Wow these guys are the real deal.
*Sensacional!! Músicas alucinantes e psicodélicas!! House Music de Primeira!!*
Their music is so good

more of these videos!!
0:19 put "the bottom now we're" where he pauses and points at the drums
LOVE THIS! Sheer talent.
Such rad dudes... great set up and music
Refreshingly interesting and I’m not a musician but enjoy your music a lot...nice one
i love this video. the take away for me is that i need to get better with the gear that i have. They really have simple equipment but they know it so well that they're able to make a big sound. Get good with what you have...and collaborate!
This is an excellent video. Eye opening and gives me more respect for them.
They are so iconic!! They don’t really make em like this anymore. The mainstream djs of today could never!!!
Amazing 🤩🤩
these guys r so talented, that remix of never be like you is so fucking money
thank you for this video.
Great guys, great show and big talent. Thanks for the video.
"I have no idea how to get another one but i would like to if anyone knows just write in" Howard Lawrence 2016
wow much respect for them!!!
amazing, so much cool gear
Looks like a nice sounding live show...
genial!!!!
Mind was blown with the Ableton failover !
Those live setups are crazy but necessary. I have not had the privilege to attend but one day I will.
Lloyd said he wants that Sabian crash cymbal back now that you're rich and famous and can afford proper analogue synths. For those who don't know, Lloyd was Guy's Music Tech teacher at College. I was the department technician.
i love how Pomo is playing in the background
Really impressive thats dope guys
wicked video .anyone know the steps for having the ableton run on both pcs simultaneously. are they using ableton link ? Cheers FD
can anyone describe the sound he plays on the malletkat?

Also worth noting that you can easily set the bpm for each scene, so it’s not a problem to have songs at different tempos in the same set
Shows you how much work goes into a track and how much talent these guys have but didn't show in caracal. Settle 100x better than caracal.
+Louis Bou agreed
loads of work went into caracal? they're both amazing albums just quite different
no, no and no. i extremely respect disclosure exactly for not playing it safe, not repeating settle and making something completely different with different points pulling the album as whole, leaving another remarkable standpoint in their career.
A3roTV amen
A3roTV yeh same but the quality wasn't there, don't get me wrong there was some quality tracks on caracal but it shows where the quality is when they play more settle tracks in their live sets.
the 2nd guy (the one with the keyboards) reminds me of daniel radcliffe
it is him i thougth
Howard forgot to mention the TCHelicon voicelive touch at the 8:20 mark.
Love it
anyone know more about their computer backup setup?
Radial SW8 switching racks. If it detects a dropout of more then a few ms it will switch the audio pairs over immediately. Pretty nifty shit.
Gabriel Valente Ferrão r
waaaaaaaah I love you!!!!
0:33 my fav part. :D
What’s the name of thing at 7:34
Sooo epic
Anyone know how to recreate the type of noise he makes just after 2:20?
Does anyone know how they process the sound from all the external gear? What sort of an audio interface do they use?
Can anyone tell me the Software he's using to change All Patches in his set to match the song? Was just thinking how it would be nice to have software that could save all my gears patches in a bundle-folder etc while Im working in the studio.

Why are people hating on Caracal?!
Cause it's different than settle
Because they don't like Magnets and Nocturnal, they want more tracks like January.
Caracal still delivers loads of awesome songs, like Hourglass and Holding On.
pretty cool
Found the music playing in the background!!!!!
What’s the song from the very beginning of the video?
Is so fascinating how music works isnt it?
What was the name of the song in the intro?
pomo-so fine
hey guys, does anyone know what sort of hardware/software Howard uses that changes settings of all the instruments around him with a click of a button from his MPK261? and could it be just patch settings from this "software" or the actually patch from the different synths?
+RJ Pineda MainStage :)
@7:18 OMG THAT JUNO
14:30 they look so cute rising haha
Can anybody ID the reebok top Guy is wearing?
it's Reebok
