    Thanks for this and the one on the JU-06. There's not enough info out there on sound design/creation, and those that usually know how to do this, don't articulate it very well for the average joe, whereas you explained in plain english and in a way that I gained more knowledge on this subject in 20 min watching you, than I have in the last decade combined. Thanks again!

      Robin Spiers Cool! You will enjoy that. :) I have a Deepmind 12 module, so I don’t think a JU-06A would benefit me much. Currently I’m considering a (second hand) JX-03 or a new SE-02.

    I'm not much of a great synth programmer personally but this tutorial is PERFECT for beginners and also to people who have just bought a JP-08 (me). I love this thing man, you can clearly see how you can quickly get to otherworldly sounds fairly quickly with the modulation capabilities. This has gotta be the best synth in its price range. Love it.

      Yes I made it specifically for beginners thank you I love my jp08! Isn't it great? There may be naysayers about the boutiques but to me I forget every time I use it that it's digital!!! The other boutiques are each amazing!

    Thank you Ron C. I was recently thinking of putting my JP-08 onto the 'auction E-graveyard', but... then again... I just watched your excellent video, which reminds me, that despite its incredible 4-voice limitation (a Roland *uninspired* moneygrab as far as I'm concerned), there is still something very special about the JP-08. I've realised too, that if I sold my JP-08, I would surely have seller's remorse. So soon enough, I will just have to take it out of its box, make peace with its limitations, and basically reacquaint myself with it, on friendly synth loving terms, while waving the white flag in the direction of all its many positives. Anyone else feeling the same degree of ambivalence, before eventually realising that there is *still* something great about the JP-08?

      Tremain W Apart from the SE-02 the JP is my favourite boutique. Having owned a Jupiter 8 back in the day (and virtually giving it away in the mid 90’s.....I know, I know) in my studio setup it sounds just as good. More polyphony would be most welcome though!!! 🕶🎶✌🏻

    how do you save patches on a PC and how you open external patches? Cheers

  • @henrikpersson4698
    @henrikpersson4698 2 года назад +1

    Dumb question but can you layer sounds on this thing? Like add a sequence of notes, then another on a different pattern and they’ll play simultaneously, on top of each other?

    • @RonCavagnaro
      @RonCavagnaro  2 года назад +2

      It is not multitimbral like that. That's the term what you're looking for. Boutiques are single synths each so you'd have to buy more than one and get a sequencer for that.

    • @henrikpersson4698
      @henrikpersson4698 2 года назад +1

      @@RonCavagnaro cheers. But having two should work right? They have built in sequencers ... then hook em all up to a mixer and blend

    U made a good and very descriptive vdo. From my little experience I think 'Key follow' add an interesting timbre to sound more than what manual said. They said it just shorten envelop for higher pitch but i play it few times. Its not sound like that but cool feature to experiment , though.

    • @carnmarth334

      After writing your sequence, hold down DUAL and press the number key of the desired destination for the sequence. The manual actually omits this information.

    you can create noise with this thing but useful noise ? play an actual melody during any of that experimental part and you couldnt name that tune with the whole song played

    • @RonCavagnaro
      @RonCavagnaro  3 года назад +1

      Of course I can make a melody with it. I just wanted to show it's crazy side, how it can go into strange places. I hoped that would have been obvious. If you're looking for melody look at my jp08 demos.
