I am so sorry that I just noticed your comment. I looked and I'm surprised that I did not not a 5-Thread Stitch video tutorial yet... I'm putting it on my short list ! Thank you for following along with me.
Did you ever make the 5-thread video? I really think it would be useful. Your videos are SO helpful, and you are the reason I got my Ovation out of the box!
I'm so excited that you got your Ovation out of the box! Stay Tuned, I'll add a 5-Thread Tutorial to my LIVE Subscriber Q&A (Wednesdays at 1:00 edt) Thanks for serging along with me
I have had my babylock serger for many years and never realized that it could make a secure stitch in different widths by using the chain stitch. Jen you Rock!!!
Thank you this this I do enjoy your tutotials very much. I have had my baby lock for a few weeks, I successfully threaded and sewed a trouser but suddely the chain stitch keeps breaking. what am I doing wrong?
Thank you for this! I was not aware of the 4 thread safety stitch. I have always avoided the 2 thread overlock because I didn't know what to do with it. Is this a secure enough seam for pants for example?
... Sorry for the delayed response. This stitch is better for seams that are not super stressed. Use the 5-Thread Safety Stitch for fitting garments like pants

I have been tryng to set my Evolution up for a 4 thread safety stitch. Everything looks good I the threading department, however, when I go to sew, the chai stitch doesn't sew! I have followed your tutorial here, even stopping the video to check what I had done. It still won't sew! What am I doing wrong? How can I fix it? Thanks for being here for us!
So sorry I didn't see your comment until now. Check to see if the needles are inserted all the way up...If the needles are not up all the way, they may not catch the looper threads to form the stitch. Thank you for following along with me
Hi, are you able you tell me what I am doing wrong as the lower looper thread keeps breaking and the threads for the overlock stitch is very loose on the underneath side. The chain stitch is ok. Thank you in advance.
You are fantastic. Thank you so much...I found out what I did wrong....Keep up the good work.
