Need a better CV joint grease technique..

  • CV joint I took apart to check the seal, found that half of the balls are totally dry and didn't have any grease on them

    Always use as much lube as possible during assembly

    Wraps a good idea if it doesn't interfere with movement also it could prevent anything from getting in & Damaging with excessive wear from grit from the road or sand.

    So what I did with a outside inner boot minor leak was use self adhering silicone tape and it’s holding up great! That stuff is awesome!

    What kind of shrink wrap sleeve would you use? Never heard of that

    Gotta grease from both sides. Remove the boot and pack it! Pack the backside and good to go!

      I've been using wheel bearing grease

      ​@@MotorSwapDan although it looks dry down there the bearings are greased and may not ride that far down it should be fine pack it with grease call it good 😁👍

      I'm pretty sure CV grease is NGLI 0 or NGLI 00 (Ithink single 0, 00 is too liquid). It's thinner than #2 wheel bearing grease.
