Interesting that they went for the separation in the torso which helps the articulation over the continuous rubber suit which obviously favours film accuracy...
In the film the armour looks the same. If you want to pretend there is no joint, just hinge it down and its almost unnoticeable. People were saying they wanted joints all over the iron spider and now we get a torso joint and people are complaining here too, its a lose lose for them.
Outstanding review! I really like the suit design! I think the details of the face and hair is amazing! I think Hot Toys should make all weapons diecast!
Great review as always. I dont agree they nailed the headsculpt but it is definitely still awesome. I would say about 85% likeness. Also as you know, not a fan of the sculpted plastic hair. Wouldve looked way better with rooted hair. Matter of fact there is already a rooted version out there and its 100x better. Surprisingly tho articulation ended up being better than anyone thought. Well done hot toys!
Thanks Igor, well you know my stance on rooted hair. It can be made to look dope, but I don't have the time to futz with it and I'd do it a disservice so I'm happy they made it easy on me this time around haha

And except for that deadpool, you think everything else is stunning. And you might and fair play to you, but as a viewer who cannot afford EVERYTHING, I like to watch reviews and listen to what you guys say about a product. I was on the fence with Ewans Obi Wan, and like 9/10 thought the head sculpt could have been better and was a little disappointed. And you are allowed to love it, and I don't think you are lying, cause you seem very sincere, and maybe I'm too negative, but I have to pick and choose and I only buy what I think is the best. It was just an observation.
@@mams1701 I am a massive fan of The King. It is such a shame he has dethroned himself. His reviews were always very honest and when he didn't like something, he said it. I miss reviewers like him. Honest ones. He didn't need to be first, cause he was first, you know what I mean. I don't thing people watched him cause he got something quick, people watched him cause he was honest.

They don't have to be afraid to offend anyone. I sorta like Keyboard Warriors, but I like the woman better, cause she doesn't just think everything is great. That Aquaman sculpt is not 100%. It is not a disaster, but there is a lot of room for improvement. I know we all have different opinions, but when I pay 300 USD for a figure, I want the HS to be damn near perfect. That is just me. I want reviewers who admit it when something is not perfect. I demand a lot form Hot Toys and I demand a lot from Hot Toys reviewers. Justin is one of the best right now. He is consistent, he is meticulous but he could learn a trick or two from The King.
Another nice looking review. To be honest it feels a little lacking in content without showing more of the articulating range of these figures. For these figures to look this realistic and being able to articulate is a hallmark of hot toys.
Hey, thanks man. If you haven't already check out my livestream for why I don't cover articulation in more detail but the gist of it is this: I pay extra to get these things early, and as I'm sure you know stretching suits to their limit and extending joints on camera can lead to permanently damaged figures. It's happened to me twice in the early days and I can't afford to take that risk. I don't articulate them as much as would be required for the videos. It's a trade off, if everyone wants the content early it costs me more so I have to be more careful, if I get them for regular retail price and a replacement was readily available then I'd be more happy to do it. If I break a brand new figure like this or the 1/4 joker (200 released in the first batch) during my review and haven't gotten all the clips I need it would delay the videos. If something is cool or noteworthy or even overly restricted I'll tell you, in my opinion that's good enough. A majority of people buy these for the screen accuracy and the articulation comes second, do people really not buy something they love the look of, that will complete a team because the leg cant go up 90 degrees? That's just the way I do it, hope that helps ☺️ So TLDR I pay extra and don't want to break/damage them for entertainment/information purposes/

So I didn't mean to bend the joints to the extreme but rather demonstrate a suggested range of motion that would minimize the risk of damaging the body or suit. You guys can try some simple articulation off camera (I suggest slightly heating the joints area) before recording. I really appreciate the responses to all of our questions. Keep up the good work my friend!
I've pre-ordered the whole Justice League Hot Toys and can't wait. Aqua Man is my favourite as I've only just seen the Aqua Man movie and it so rocked.
Not that much of a DC fan outside of more direct ties to Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman but the Aquaman suit looks awesome. The face could have more likeness but it's not bad and the hair sculpt looks great. I prefer sculpted hair, personally. Most collections I see are not really posing them with a lot of accessories so I am fine with the small amount this figure comes with. I haven't seen too many people even pose the exclusive Wonder Woman with her black Cloak but I do and really like it.
Man, it's one hell of a figure. If you told me 5 years ago I'd be buying an Aquaman figure I would have told you you're dreaming, but the character has come a long way!

Sculpted hair only sacrifices a wee bit of articulation. Nothing too much to lose. This Aquaman is a gorgeous piece.
