I've been using mismagius ex with cresselia ex. Dawn really likes cresselia in the same way that darkrai combos with dawn. Biggest issue is so many dark type decks are running around now so maybe in this next set it could see some more viability.
2 x cresselia 1 x caterpie, metapod, butterfree 2 x Ralts, Kirlia, Gardevoir 2 x Oak, pokeball, communication 2 x Cape 1 x Cyrus It’s the best stall deck I have tried (better than exeggutor/ butterfree) 80 heal per turn when full team assembled…
@@芸道 if we consider the damage output on most decks can reach 120+ damage per turn your 80 heal per turn wont stop you from getting two-shot. even darkrai hits you for 120 with cresselias weakness to dark. Its not looking good for cresselia
I'm quite glad that the event exclusives (Lapras and Cresselia) are niche and not meta defining. It would be kinda bad for future new players that didn't participate in these events to be locked out of meta staples forever
just wanted to say how thankful i am and how appreciative i am of this channel. i just got into this game and got a ton of help from you. always posting videos as soon as possible which i really admire
1 retreat cost would have been broken. Cresselia is in a nice place of being fresh and fun but not too strong which is what promo cards probably should be
I feel 2 retreat but healing active would have been fine. Healing is not very powerful overall and if it was on the bench that means it would be limited to 20 heal a turn since you couldn’t use gardivoir. If it healed active it would be like shaymin but targeted instead of spread but cost energy to do
It's a game opening tank, the problem is that it's Psychic so most decks can't use it. If it only took colorless this thing would be a great tank with rocky helmet. People comparing it to Venusaur don't even understand the game.
For the first deck: I would drop Cyrus, drop x speed. Add another leaf, and add Dawn. And also maybe drop one (or both) of the slabs for Pokemon communication. I feel like it’s sort of essential to be able to Dawn any energy you have on Mewtwo/Cresellia to the active spot.
Im going to say something I may get hate for. I think for its ability to be impactful, especially as it only self targets, the HP restoring is far too low. It needed to be 30 at minimum to balance around Gardevoir and would have also been worth adding in a self cleanse. 60 HP a turn would of provided decent sustain, would allow it to better counter counter dark decks and stop poison from furth crippling it from its niche. I genuinely believe it's undertuned in this regard.
Honestly im trying to get 2 Magnezone and 2 Darkrai EX so in the event where i get the 2 Magnezone but no Darkrai EX i will use your decklist tbh it a solid build you did a good job
I run -2 cresselia -2 misdreavus (promo version) -2 mismagius -1 gasly -1 haunter (reg version) -1 Gengar EX -1 X speed -2 poke ball -2 communication -1 cape -2 research -1 leaf -1 Cyrus -1 dawn
U could drop the X speed for a 2nd leaf; this deck gets really annoying for the enemy if u get mismagius early or even the promo misdreavus (constant confusion) while you build the Gengar EX and then they can’t use any support. Cresselia is obviously stall and tank.
Maybe with Yanmega? Think that has a chance to be good with the Magnezone deck layout. Might only bet able to fit 1 Cress in it though for the Yanmega build and definitely needs Dawns.
I'm trying out Cresselia Ex with the Gardevoir and Mismagius Ex lines. For consistency, I have 2 oaks, poke balls, mystic slabs and Pokemon communications. You get your pieces consistently, and retreating isn't a problem once Gardevoir is set up. The negative is that you can't bring out pokemon in bench since I don't play Sabrina or Cyrus
It's a slightly less sad lapras but at least lapras has misty. I tried to play it with gardevoir but as you said the healing is not game changing and why would you use a Creselia instead of a Mewtwo
I run double shaymin with executor and Tangela which heals itself so that’s 50 heal each turn. It’s pretty good. I beat the manaphy vaporeon articuno deck with it. May not be great but solid for sure.
Am I crazy or is it significantly harder to find a two star than in any other pack. I have completed full collections so far so I have opened 17500 cards so quite a large sample size. Ive probably only found 2-3 2 stars in this set which is horrible in comparison to the other two sets.
@@MrSpaceWorm Like what counter plays? If they have Mew EX, you're cooked. There's nothing you can do. Also, Darkrai EX/Magnezone is mainly non-EX. They always hide their Darkrai EX behind Druddigons and Magnazones. I don't see how Charizard EX is good right now. It got Pokemon Communication and Dawn, but that's not going to cut it.
I feel like cresselia is just a worse venusaur. Like ya its a basic but it isn't as tanky as venusaur, it doesn't heal as much as venusaur, and you dont have erika.
Still super early for the card. Im not a massive fan at this stage but let me know if you guys have and good builds for it
dusknoir couple, cape helmet and your good, long games but works stalling the hell out of your oponnent, dusknoir can absorb hp beyond his hp pool

2 butterfrees 2 craslia exs and a shamen and a fan rotum. Lots of fun. 😅 cant die an they cant play lol 🤣
If only it heal the active pokemon and not only herself ...
Fr Florges from mythical island is better than this even tho it’s a stage 2
That would mirror Darkrai's effect better, and make it more thematic.
@@statue4569 Literally isn't better but alright. 2025 the era of hyperbole.

I know they were going for inverse Darkrai with a weaker ability because it’s a Promo but at a minimum it should had 1 retreat cost.

tell that to mew ex.

Honestly even if she just had 20 more hp she'd be much better. Rn she's like lapras where she's playable but likely not gonna be meta
Use the cape
i'am trying cresalia with dusknor form the new set and shaymien you might want to try it for fun

Arbok and weezing deck is awesome for this event
I have got 4 cresselia ex's 😊
It's a slightly less sad lapras but at least lapras has misty. I tried to play it with gardevoir but as you said the healing is not game changing and why would you use a Creselia instead of a Mewtwo
I dont think they wanted to indirectly buff mewtwo by making this heal active Pokemon. Thats the head canon im using

Weazing/Arbok wrecks it especially with Cyrus now if you dont get an arbok set up early.
Cressilia Ex = Lapris Ex. good to collect and display on your display boards and albums, but keep them off your competitive play decks 🙂
Im still using EX gyarados and EX starmie with vaporeon. Do you think its still viable?
gyarados actually working pretty well in this meta coz there are less hitmonlees and zebstrikas getting around
Add manaphy in ur deck then it good to go
Where is the dusknoir Cressellia deck? It’s probably better than magnezone from my testing
Cresselia should have more HP tbh

Meh it was weak in the solo challenge and I don't see a way to make it broken
Cresila is better then jinx in a mewtwo deck.
Moltres Charizard is the way to go. No counter play to it
Mew EX?
@@Pun116 I mean sure, there's counter plays. I meant it's pretty good with the EX meta right now

I don’t even have ONE
They really need to make healing more relevant, especially when everything’s one shotting or two shottibg even through your healing.
I feel like cresselia is just a worse venusaur. Like ya its a basic but it isn't as tanky as venusaur, it doesn't heal as much as venusaur, and you dont have erika.
Literally not even used for the same purpose. This is a game opening tank, the complete opposite of Venusaur.
I dont think they design these cards to be good because people can miss thier chance to get a couple.
