This was humiliating to watch. I can see from her responses in the beginning she was trying really hard to show them that she loves the country and it’s people which is why she’s repeated it multiple times! but I noticed that he kept tying to ignore that and insult her with jokes that aren’t even funny. These are jokes that I’ve heard many times from guys in Kosovo and albania it’s when men use them to try to make you laugh but not realize how rude and disrespectful they really are. Women like her who were not born in Albania or Kosovo although they do a lot of research on our country and know what’s going, they don’t think somehting like this would happen to them which is why I feel like she took it really hard and cried because she was on national tv! I feel really bad for her.

Every man should respect women. I'm male too and from Albania and I undertsand if some people hate on Albania or on the Balkans but it doesn't mean everyone is like that. LISTEN, let me make it clear to all of you who didn't get the point of Alyne.
1. Yes it was just a joke. A joke that is rude, disrespectful and sexist. Please don’t laugh when people make sexist, racist jokes. Our laughter is our support. If they tell you you’re making a big deal out of nothing, tell them sexism is a big deal. If they tell you it’s just a joke, say that jokes at other people’s expense are not JOKES, and are not funny.
2. She was not generalizing Albanians. All she said was that the country has an issue with sexism and objectifying women. She DIDN'T say ALL Albanians are sexist. Those two statements are different. She even pointed out in her vlog that other countries have the same problem with sexism. Which is a fact. She said the truth even if the truth hurts.
3. Just to be clear, let me teach you the difference between generalizing vs. not generalizing:
a. My country, the Philippines, has issue of corruption. >NOT GENERALIZING
b. All Filipinos are corrupt. >GENERALIZING
4. Y'all questioning her defending women's rights by speaking up in the show. What she did was so brave and I hope this will spark conversation of women’s rights. Sadly, many of you chose to focus more on her 'generalizing' Albania (which she did not) rather than focus on the more pressing issue which is the prevalence of SEXISM.
4. It is time the world starts treating women with respect and not like e piece of meat. Don't be defensive about it. Sexism really does exist and are prevalent in some countries. Learn to acknowledge it and then do something about it.
P.S. This Ermal Mamaqi is not funny at all. He shouldn't be a TV host if he can't respect his guests or other people for that matter.

alyne kinda over reacted actually. and overgeneralized. let me explain. if you got offended by someone, you dont respond by involving someone else in the discussion. you dont say that the albanians have a problem with sexism if your just addressing one person's behavior. it's like hearing from someone saying your parents have problem raising kids because you turned out to be a bad apple. you are the problem, not your parents. same as this host has a problem, not the culture, the majority or minority of the people. simply addressing the bad behavior of the individual is more effective than involving others who are not really involved.

He barely asked her a question and whenever she tried to interact, he played it out like he hasn't heard anything, as if she didn't even speak. I came because I saw some clips from Alyne’s Instagram. I definitely can’t speak for Albanian humor overall because I do not understand 90% of what was said here. But here is my key takeaway and why Alyne even blows up on a LIVE TV:
1. The host should have done his homework and know his guest’s name. The fact he has to ask her for name and constantly, and intentionally, calling her Alina makes him to look stupid. Imagine him interviewing someone with higher profile like Oprah and constantly mocking her name, she will put this host where he belongs to.
2. You can see from Nas and Alyne’s body gesture and how they forced reaction to the host’s “jokes” they are quite uncomfortable with him throughout the interview. However, he did not study that and keep on pressing them with constant stupid jokes.
3. At 13:18, he was playfully inspecting Nas’ camera and erected one of the tripod stand’s leg to insinuate it looks like a penis. The only people who find this joke funny are 6 years old.
4. This guy made a penis joke, saying it’s allowed to have sex on Albanian TV but then told Alyne she is not allowed to curse in front of TV is irritating. At this point, I’d be surprised if Alyne hasn’t feel annoyed by this man.
5. Lets talk about the blow up. When your guest was already upset and said your joke is offensive and not funny, you, as a host, should take control of the situation to calm the guest down. Instead, he quickly accuses the question lady for coming up with the question (which annoyed the question lady too) and then constantly screaming “(The question) IS FUNNY!” and then told her the question is for Nas instead of her.
6. Who would ask an adult man if he is traveling around to look for girls in front of his girlfriend in front of LIVE TV???
7. Alyne didn’t just blab something out of nowhere and accuses the whole nation just because she is upset by one man’s rude behavior. She has been to the country multiple times and must have talked to many Albanian friends who told her that. If you have multiple locals Albanians telling you Albanians have problem with respecting women, there has to be something to that.
Again, I do not understand Albanian joke and if it is like how fellow Albanian said it is on the comment section, I’ll be very disappointed.

US chose a president that grabs women by their p**y. Albanians didn't. Albanians don't sell their daughters for $500 (like they do in Morocco). What she said is awfully true, it discusses me how women are treated here and especially in Albania, I read your comment and what you said is true and facts and you understood it right. Albanian humor is way much better but the fact that we have a dump host who makes sick jokes and puts every guest that he has in an uncomfortable position its something that buts the whole Albanian nation down, I’m truly sorry for what she had to experience and in the same time I would like to thank her that she brought that topic and said what she said in a show that is watched everywhere where Albanians live and Im hoping that that would give a piece of mind to some people.
elena elena I feel sad for you if you are a woman. Many human right organizations did write on the issue of woman’s right in the Balkan area. Instead of taking this as an opportunity to spark a conversation and hopefully it will force a change, you choose to give excuse by being offended, saying other countries are doing worse and sweep the issue under the rug.

The question was not funny but also that drama scene was a little unnecessary.
If you go to a funny & sarcastic show, you should be humble enough to joke around and not create drama for no reason. Clearly the question was not a serious one, and it DID NOT need a serious answer. What the girl said is unfortunately true, she is speaking facts, but the problem that made this come out is at the host since in every show that he makes, his jokes are basically insulting others and making himself feel superior, mean while low minded people find it funny and cheer him and respect him for what he does but in fact its totally opposite what it should be done. Can that host make a joke and not sexualize it ? Can that host make a joke and not put other people or nationalities down?
