    Alright, some very valuable lessons were learned this day. Seraphon are paper if you don't balance your activations wisely. I have learned all these lessons myself. It seems like an army you want to charge in, but honestly, you want to wait and be patient on round 1 if you go first. Then stagger your charges. If your kroxigor had charged into the scythes with first activation, they would have blown up the unit, instead they got merced.

    • @gailonebell2154
      @gailonebell2154 2 месяца назад +4

      Seraphon really suffer from not being able to change activation order at all. Counter charge is a trap for them (unless it's a tar pit of saurus warriors). I have had to learn this lesson a couple times, counter charging a carnosaur in and just having it die. In this game the counter could have been ok but the lancers strike first. So both seraphon units got hit hard before either could hit back, rather than being hit in one spot and hitting back in the other. Big swing on that 3+ fight first.

      This has been my experience with them this edition. Our models look tough, but 4+ save and no wards mean everything is fragile.

      I forget those end of turn formation abilities half the time. Not a fan of having all these extra abilities to remember. In this case a lot of that damage might have been mitigated by sylvaneths end of turn healing though.

    • @philipbowles5397
      @philipbowles5397 2 месяца назад

      @@Strade8 It's not visible only if it physically can't be seen from the shooting/spellcasting etc. unit's position (this is one downside of not using the official trees - with things like Kurnoth units you aren't physically hiding them out of sight behind trees, but if Durthu or a Treelord were in the report that can be hidden behind a tree. With these stand-ins, things will always be visible). Most often sight-blocking terrain will be a large building of some kind.
      Modern GW rulesets in general use true line of sight and avoid rules that 'turn things invisible' as it can cause confusion and/or arguments (for instance the latest edition of Kill Team reduced the situations in which something is not visible when it can physically be seen by an opposing unit). In AoS (and 40k) 'blocks line of sight' isn't a terrain trait, but a physical trait of the model's dimensions and positioning - so a Wyldwood can block line of sight if something literally can't be seen through it, but that's not because it's a Wyldwood per se.

      In turn 3 the Seraphon's Aggradon Lancers fought first. In Aos combat activations alternate, so it was the Sylvaneth choice of what unit to fight with next, and they go back and forth that way, choosing the order in which to activate any eligible units.

      You should look at a br with his Idoneth Deepkin or Lumineth. Genuinely some of the best armies I've ever seen. The channel also had a recent channel goal to have a BoC army commission painted as you suggested, and after its first appearance on the table GW announced its end. You can see the hesitation.
