dear Colin, thank you so much! i just loved everything about this video. have that same set, will use it more self-confidently thanks to you. i am grateful for your enthusiasm, kindness and positivity. i don't know how you can keep it up, but i am forever grateful. in this world, in these times, you shine a light. you're doing great, please, keep it up!
Great inspiration. Can almost feel like I’m the one doing this. I have just swatched my Derwent Graphtint and Mixed Media set. Pretty sure I have this and a Prismacolor Graphite. Good to have this really excellent work to keep in mind for sketching and embellishing my tomorrows for working this medium with places of little color in my memory bank. Very good work. Thank you. P
Beautiful art! Great demo!❤ You made it easy to follow. I've seen these in the store, but I couldn't figure out how to use them. Now I'm inspired! Also, I'm going to get the pencil sharpener.
I agree about the pencil sharpener! Another great video! Your exploration of all the different mediums are so great. Suggestions? Gouache. Such an unusual media. Sherry. Would ❤to put your drawing next to Toby’s in my studio.
@@WoodwardswatercoloursDefinitely not my skill set yet either. To me it seems like a cross between acrylic and watercolor. I have seen watercolorists simply add white gouache to their mixes and then paint. Just need to be careful not to get it into your pans.
I've found that water is best to dilutes watercolor paint colors, if you mix in white gauache, it makes the color cloudy. Using the white gauache to accent areas, e.g. top of a crashing wave, works well.
I bought this set in a blister pack that included a little brush. Thanks for sharing a tutorial on how to use them! I’ll definitely try this. Unfortunately I don’t know where to get the photo.
Lovely drawing. I’d be interested in seeing you do a drawing with colored water-soluble graphite pencils. Derwent and Staedtler are two brands I know of that make those, but I haven't tried them.
@@Woodwardswatercolours Will forward to it, thanks! I'm curious to see if drawing lines remain or if they just melt away in the water. Love your drawing and painting style!
Just came across your video and totally agree with you on this product! I use them mostly for quick sketching when out and about, however I live pretty much on the other side of the world it seems from you. The rain forest in Northern California is unique place to live. I do have the giant redwoods all around me and the most beautiful part of the California coast I think. Small populations. Anyway, have always loved seeing and using in my work places all over and Ireland is one top on my list. Would love to see what you see when out looking for drawing material and would it be ok to use any of it to sketch? I’m not a professional by any means but a grandmother at the time in her life enjoying what my passion has always been;) As I have disabilities and can’t travel distances my reference material is limited do like to ask before using others photos or videos. I haven’t yet checked your channel out yet and you may already have a lot out there of Ireland. Ha! But like I said I’ve just seen this video. Thanks for your time.
Hi Colin, great video. You are naughty as these are something I now need. Love the way the graphite explodes. I have been using Tombow pens which also work with water however can see a better use of the graphite ones.😊
Do you have dedicated brushes for your graphites? I have this set but in the blister pack. I chose that one because it came with the No. 6 brush, iirc. Great review, btw!
Very interesting thank you Colin. I was wondering if you can erase marks made by these pencils with an ordinary pencil eraser if you want to change part of a drawing?
Please feel free to draw any reference images I post in the community section of the channel! Thanks for watching 😊

You're so welcome!
I’ve had these pencils for ages, but I’ve never used them. I will definitely give them a go now. Thanks Colin.
They really are excellent

Great video! Inspiring, too! I didn't know about these water soluble graphites! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the videos. I like learning new techniques with new tools. Can you do some videos with gouache. You and Toby are great together. Thanks
I didn't know there was such a thing, it seems so good. Of course it's your beautiful drawing that shows it so well :)
Ah thank you! They are so good!

Honestly that pencil sharpener is SO good. Really good to hear the demo was helpful
Loved the demonstration! Have you tried the Woodies? their crayons and so fun, also the stebello pencils. I’m hooked on them.
Colin thank you for reminding me that I have that exact set sitting in my drawer waiting to explore.
That’s great. They are so good!
Thank you for showing me how to start using my water soluable pencils. Time to get brave.
You can do it!

Just found your new channel and subscribed. Best of luck and thanks for representing Donegal! 💚💛
Thanks for subbing! Donegal really is such a beautiful place
Hi Colin, I really enjoyed your video today. This is my husbands you tube a/c. I like that you have an organised approach.
Hello, thank you, yes I like to be organised and tidy up after myself! Not the artistic stereotype

Please ..the Shakespeare joke! Wonderful work, thank you.
I really like this! I thought this was the set my friend gifted me, but no. It's the 9000 art set, not water soluble. Darn it.
Ah no!! They’re not too expensive if you want to buy a set
Wonderful 👏...Thanks for sharing from Sabine/ Germany
You’re so welcome Sabine
@sabinegrams6271 you’re the winner please send me your address so I can post the picture to you at woodwardswatercolours@gmail.com

No I just used my normal brushes

I’m unsure, I’ll have to try that
They also do a 14 b in their Matt pencils
MAS GRANDE EL DIBUJO PLEASE...
Nice pencils.
Gotta say - *use a basic pen and crayons* and have fun :)
Personal preference 😉
