    Great shots and grade. I’m very interested in the full set. I have the old Sirui 50mm, I love it but it’s heavy and I’m very interested in these with neutral flare. After more time I hope you are still enjoying them and would recommend :)

      IBIS was actually turned off on a lot of this. I was testing a properly weighted down rig to see if I can get away without IBIS, for a more organic handheld look. Take away the extreme wind experienced here and it’s all good. Very little unpleasing micro jitter

    • @foufou81

      @@RoweFilms 3:21 it's not the IBIS ? I mean, i love it, I use it on my S5II and it's great. But you can see the signature image deformation and bouncing.

    Although it makes shooting a nightmare, I absolutely love being out in wild conditions like this. The Saturn lenses are stacking up very well and I'm hoping Sirui come out with something over 100mm in this range. I'll test the 50mm soon!

    I enjoy your videos. I’m beginning to explore “film making” after a long corporate career. I‘ve made training videos for work and know enough of FCP to be dangerous. When shooting both spherical and anamorphic how do you maintain visual continuity between clips in FCP? I know how to desqueeze and transform. Thanks!

    • @RoweFilms
      @RoweFilms  Год назад +1

      Thanks bud! The flares on these are really nice actually. They shift with the colour of the light source so a cooler source will shift the flares white, with a hint of blue. There's also nice secondary flares too so not just the single solid streak. They've certainly improved a lot. Haven't tested the 75mm or 50mm in low light yet so that's the next job.

    nice work, mate! keep us tuned on the 50mm also! ps - are you shooting handheld?

    • @RoweFilms
      @RoweFilms  Год назад +2

      Cheers chap will do. Yes handheld. A lot of this is also with IBIS switched off. I always prefer a non-IBIS handheld look, more organic, so I was testing the rig I’ve built weighted down for a project I’m shooting in the coming weeks. The main issue was the wind. It was hard enough standing up let alone keep a camera steady 🤣. So take away that wind and the rig is just about weighty enough to turn IBIS off, even at 75mm 👍🏻

    loved these shots, the scene and the color grading done - how do you think you can have greater stabilization for future shots? i find some of the clips were not shaky, but moving alot

    • @RoweFilms
      @RoweFilms  10 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks! I was trying out a handheld look for an up coming project, seeing how the rig handled things. Completely Handheld in very strong winds, and I also turned ibis off as I generally don’t like an ibis stabilised look. I wanted to see if the rig was weighty enough for it to be switched off, so that’s why it feels hectic and very handheld. It was intentional.

  • @rajaderrick
    @rajaderrick Год назад +2

    Looks really good! Do you need to use diopters for this focal length?

    • @RoweFilms
      @RoweFilms  Год назад +1

      Thanks! Minimum focus isn't too bad but as to be expected for a 75mm anamorphic. Depends how tight you want to get. You can manage a MCU no problem, but if you want a tighter close up then yes you may still need to stick a diopter on. They're certainly not needed as much as on the 35mm.

      @@Samskihero Sorry man got confused just had to check which ones you mean. Thought you were referring to the Mars series for m43. I've used those ones before, but not Venus. These definitely have more character than the Mars lenses for sure, but vs Venus I can't really say as I've not tried them. I'd imagine the aesthetic is similar overall

    • @RoweFilms
      @RoweFilms  Год назад +2

      The lens is definitely plenty sharp and contrasty enough. Too much so for me in fact, which is why I use Dehancer Pro to soften my images a bit and create that filmic aesthetic

  • @KnifeGuy_
    @KnifeGuy_ Год назад

    I know this is probably a stupid question, but would the 1.3x 75mm or 50mm from Sirui look comparable to this 1.6x footage? If you did all the same treatments to it.

    • @RoweFilms
      @RoweFilms  Год назад +2

      The anamorphic characteristics of a 1.3x squeeze factor are obviously more subtle, so not quite. They still produce nice images, just not quite so 'anamorphic' looking. If you look on my channel, I shot 'THE STAGE' on the GH6 with Sirui 1.3x lenses, so you can see what they look like if you check that one out.
