I Love the RGT scales to far of all the makers out there, cause it covers the three posts and comes with the matching back spacer for a reasonable price.
I ordered a set of those same scales and I was very hesitant to until “Neeves knives” just gave a good review on them. Hopefully Flytainum releases theirs titanium scales soon. That driver looks amazing 👍🏼.
Stas i had about the same experience as you installing my scales. Exactly the same as yours. One thing i thought might be different is that i got the ray aluminum back spacer which looks a little thicker than the one you got. Mine has a little play still but its tolerable. The need to correct the scale thickness and also is seems their pivot hole is slightly off. I’m gonna let them ride til Flytanium drops their TI scales. Great video.
So I just just got a set of these scales along with a backspacer in today and installed them. I didn’t have any of the issues that you observed except for the liners fitting a little loose but that didn’t cause any issues. Everything lined up perfectly blade is centered zero blade play. Sorry about your bad luck but I think you just got a lemon
Thanks for the heads up on the GOAT scales. I love my RGT’s. BTW, on all of my production AD20.5 and 20S’s, the open side of the bearings goes up against the blade. Don’t know if it matters or not but maybe its why your bearing doesn’t spin properly. Peace brother ❤️
Thanks for conforming that. When I put mine together that seemed like the right way to do it and I haven't had any problems. The only thing this knife needs are bronze phosphor washers.
I got the 20.5 Sharksfoot in D2. I also got the same OG aluminum scales, but I kept the factory orange frn backspacer for a bit of color. I also noted a bit of misalignment between the scales that I could not adjust out, as well a touch of blade play (but not so bad that I'm removing the scales at this point). The factory grind on the knife was very odd, seems to be different angles on each side, but it is VERY sharp, and seems to be holding up well.
I have had zero issues with my AUS10 one either. To bad the fit is bad because they do look good. I went with plain old black micarta, but I really like those terotuff ones. I'm a fan of that material.
I had an issue with micarta scales from RGT where mine had up and down play. I ended up just tightening everything down while forcefully holding the scales so that the posts and spacer were lined up correctly and adding some loctite to the pivot. Came back a couple days later and now no play. Don't know if that would help in your situation.
I seen these when they first came out but held off because I already have karbadize making me some copper snake skin scales. They should hopefully be ready this weekend at some point. That’s so frustrating. I’ve purchased a few pm2 and pm3 scales and some of them had side to side play when tightened all the way. Counter sink wasn’t deep enough I assume.
I wish they would have made this knife with washes. Bearings on a knife like this arnt necessary-especially if you are like me and work outside digging holes. Can you replace bearing for washers? I know you said the bearings were a weird size
Hopefully mine come in pretty good ordered the aluminum with back spacer for my 3v version so I will update you on how the fitment is great vid and nice tool just got combat beads torx tool and I love it comes what bits couldn't be happier...
I bought mine on pre order and I love them! They feels great! I also just got a black dlc sharkfoot demko so I guess I'll be ordering more. Sorry you didn't get a good set though. 😕
That's unfortunate. My OD Green "Knuckle Set" fits perfectly. The Customer Service at the Original Goat is very responsive and helpful, too, if you have an issue. I have, also, ordered a set of their Black "Shark's Foot" Pattern, also. And, I pre-ordered a set of their "Smooth" Titanium Scales, too... Note: Often, when Small Businesses start manufacturing products, they often have some bugs to work out... Perhaps, this is what Original Goat is going through... Myself, I absolutely luv my Scale Set. And, I will let everyone know how my next Sets work out; stay tuned... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
I ordered a pair of black scales from these guys and they look and feel horribly cheap. I ordered some skiff bearings for both of my ad20.5s, made the action way smoother
Thanks for this! I got a orange/DLC AD20.5 being delivered Monday.. Already ordered the bearings! Unfortunately, it said - 3 in stock so I guess I'll be waiting a while
GREAT timing, I was just looking at these OG scales a couple hours ago for my new sharksfoot K110 bladed 20.5. I really want a custom color plus backspacer but was hedging about spending 150+ on a brand I didn't know well. One of the reviews on their site mentioned a bit of a rattle and many of them mentioned the pins extending more than stock scales. The coating is cerakote. At least it is for the customs. Your video does a lot more justice to the finish on these naked ones than their website. I bought my 20.5 specifically as a platform to add aftermarket scales and stuff. Think I will hold out a little longer.
Love the knife, but there are a lot of Lemons out there ! Thanks for the Great information. Between the scales and blade steel I can't do it . Want a shark lock .but ?
I bought a set of the OG2s coated, they looked like cheap plastic. Decided to go Micarta instead. I have run into the same problem with scale swaps, sometimes a trip to Ace Hardware for a little thicker washer helps. Believe Neeves did a video on those scales as well and had no issues with them.
The bits may begin getting stuck in the Goodskrew driver. I bought one and I am sending it back to them. The tolerances are too tight and it creates a sucking and I need pliers to get the bit out.
I got 2 of them new ones in the k 110 their alright I like them better but I really aint had them that long. By the way I ordered some of them original goat scales aint got mine yet
Just received the 3v shark foot version and the edge is a Lazer beam real sharp out of box my buddy at work went to open bag of cement with razor blade and I told him let me try new blade it cut thru that so fast that I didn't see it went thru both the paper and plastic on the inside that cement bag's come instantly very sharp out box and nice tall edge grind.
I'm beginning to wish I didn't order them. They were held up they said there was some kind of problem. They said they had to make sure they were good before shipping them out
I just ordered a k110 shark foot in baby shit green lol I want to experience the color in person but I'm fairly certain I'll be picking up a set of scales. Already ordered a set of skiff bearings as well. Are the Lynch clips for this knife worth picking up?
Wow, that sucks that you got such a crap product. Good to know. I modded mine w/ RGT jungle wear fat carbon scales, electric green ano Ti Lynch clip. Everything fit just fine - nice and snug. Looks great with the black blade. Love that GS - I'm waiting for "Poseidon's Kiss" to restock. Been waiting a while...
I notified them and they are sending me a brand new set and they said to keep the old ones for my trouble. That’s excellent customer service and that alone will keep me as a customer. I’ll let y’all know how the new set is

Was just on Goat’s website last night looking at scales and back spacers. Good deal and thanks for the upload
I ordered the plain scales and spacer. No issues. Everything is super tight. Improved the overall feel of the 20.5
I ordered a set of those same scales and I was very hesitant to until “Neeves knives” just gave a good review on them. Hopefully Flytainum releases theirs titanium scales soon. That driver looks amazing 👍🏼.
How did you like them? Any blade play?

They sent me out a brand new set no questions asked
@@Stassa23 How did the new set fit? 🤔

the Skiff Pivot: 6mmCeramic Bearings: 1mm (19 ball) work perfectly
Thanks I’ll have to pick up a set 👌
They work great!!!
Mine are on the way; I cannot wait to try them out on my AD20.5 Folders. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
So glad I watched this, I was just about to buy the frag ones. Thanks for making this video Stassa, you really saved me some money and a headache.

I'm really loving the K110 version. Good balance between toughness and ease of maintenance.

I'll check them out, cheers guys
@@gregsobek722 how do you order from him? Just instagram?
I've heard a few people saw they didn't get a good set of ad20.5 scales from them
I’ve wanted to try these, too!!
Thanks so much Mr Stassa
I’ve been needing a good screw lately. I’m definitely into that mokuti driver. Especially at that price.

Yeah I actually noticed it after the video lolb
That's unfortunate.
The original goat website is sketchy.
Steer clear.
I thought the same thing. Anything in particular I need to be worrying about?
I am holding off for now. Disappointing
i call bullshit have installed 6 sets of these scales with no issue or fit problems
