loosey goosey terminal, will Always cause issue cause they will corode and prevent connection chemically, through oxidation. then the fact that the clamp cant get any tighter mechanically. itll never work properly. electrical is very very very finicky. congrats on the fix! thats bad ass!!! that will help with performance issues as well. she should idle and respond better now.
Tbh if you really wanted to avoid this from happening aside from new terminals should have used the day to make a new ground strap for the engine, power wire for the alternator and starter with 4awg wire. Make a huge huge difference car might even run much better. Did that on my car never had any chassis power or starting issues afterwards.
