If you want to upgrade your MINIX to u22 just beware that your previous remote control is not compatible with this new box and you need to spend another $50 to $80 for a a2 light or a3 remote control, if I connect my old remote to this box can't get any sound and MINIX doesn't want to fix the problem to sell more remote control 😠😬
Minix used to be my favorite box maker. I had the Z64A and Z64w. Sadly in 2020 they are still charging top dollar but still no Netflix or Amazon in 4k? I'd rather an Nvidia Shield as It would be the same money. Shield also comes with a great remote. Remote on Minix is extra. Good review though.

Great review, as always, but I bring bad news: a few days ago (April 20 2022), after viewing your review, I ordered 2 boxes and for my surprise I found out that the File Browser ( V 4.0) that opens when one clicks on the navigation bar is missing the 'Edit Dialog'. In other words, one can't cut, copy, rename, delete, etc., a file. Minix does not have a fix. This problem, of recent, as shown up in other boxes. Anyway, I am sending the boxes back!

It depends on what factors to consider. Benchmarks, Features, Gaming , 4K video playback. If you are a speed fan then the Ugoos AM6 Plus, For coll new features the MiniX U22-XJ, also is runs the coolest of the three top S922X models. And for Support I believe MiniX takes it.
Hello my friend I have a problem with my x92 in downloading ROM which gives a red line and stands 2% .... 0x10105002 Romcode / initiaize DdR / Read initialize status / usB c.؟
The X92 was released since 2016 -2017 so the hardware is pretty out dated. Flashing new roms or custom roms may get difficult, especially if you are trying to update to newer operating systems. Try to flash the stock firmware, if it works then the issue is with the new rom you are trying to flash. And if the stock rom also fails then the box has gone faulty.

The Nvidia shield are the best TV boxes are the best at everything, the only downside is the Android TV OS and the version of the play store and it's not rooted

The BOX is OK but it's priced way too much on the high side for what it offers. The storage should be at least 64GB if not 128GB for this kind of money. It needs to be somewhere around the 100$ mark to be competitive against Nvidia Shield.

HI Mike I successfully connected the Minix U22-XJ from My PC using the Teamviewer Host app on the box. However you need some setting up to do along with Two Factor authentication scan code with you mobile phone. But is works, from you mobile phone is another story by itself.

The number of cores don't necessary mean it's faster. You can have more cores and slower speeds. In TV boxes the speed of the GPU is directly related the speed and type of CPU you are running, which is also connected to the cooling of the box. More heat means slower performance due to throttling, and overheating means crashing. In my days of fixing PC I was always amazed as to how a PC running dual core CPU moved so much faster than a PC running a quad-core CPU, but the advantage of the quad-core came when multi-tasking the quad-core out-performed the dual core under load. So just to give you an idea of how it works in TV boxes. The higher the CPU clock speed the better, BUT!!! it must not overheat or it's all for nothing. That's why some manufacturers choose to remain at 1.8GHz to manage heat.

However the racing game is nit real racing 3 that's Gear Club, and the Minix remote does not have gaming features it's a simple air-mouse with voice commands features. yes it has a backlit feature. The app will install and work, but the issue is getting the webcam to work on the box. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't depending on the webcam.

What app would you recommend to play FLAC audio files from external Hard drive?
