Hi Andy.Love your videos.I just discovered you looking for a solution to fix my brakes.Hopefully you could give me a solution.
    I have a mitsubishi lancer saloon 2006,2.0 petrol,135 hp.
I haven't drive the car for about 8 months.Actually i haven't even started all this time.
I had a water pump issue last year in november and because i had another car to use i didnt bother to fixed it.
Last month in july, i start working on the mitsubishi replacing the full kit -water pump and timing belt.
Now engine runs great , Also i've bought a new set of brand new wheel wheels and i thought it would be nice to take the calipers down ,clean them and paint them in a nice gold colour as the wheels.
Also for all 4 calipers i fitted new Guide Sleeves
.Once everything was back in place the only thing remaining was to bleed the brakes and then go for a MOT.
After bleeding brakes couple of times (following the right procedure) my brake pedal still goes to the floor when engine is running.I have to mention that the engine almost stalls on idle when i press the brake pedal. i dont have any fluid leaks on the wheels or around the master cilinder .The level fluid in the master cilinder container stays the same. I have checked the one way valve (watching your video)and is working properly.
I had a good pedal after i finish the bleeding but once i start the engine the pedal goes to the floor.
Following your video ( how to test the brake booster from inside the car) i had a test on the brake booster.
Start the car ,let it run for about 2-3 min, stop the engine ,press the pedal 3-4-5 times ,hold it and then start the engine again.Once i start the engine the pedal goes all the way down to the floor....it doesnt sink few cm....it goes goes slowly all the way down to the floor.
Do you think the brake booster is faulty ?Or maybe master cilinder ?OR BOTH?
Thanks in advance and keep up with your videos.

Hi, thanks for all the info. I dont think this is a master cylinder issue. The stalling of the car is a clue. I think there is an internal air leak in the booster. If you push the brake pedal all the way down, engine running, then wedge the pedal in its lowest position. Then remove the vacuum pipe at the manifold end & attach a hand vacuum pump.
You should be able to build up vacuum (it should be a sealed circuit with the pedal in the fully down position.
If vacuum builds then leaches away you definitely have a leak, & it's time for a new booster unfortunately
If it passes this test then come back to me & I'll give you some more direction
      Hope this helps
      Andy
