Box sings.... Sweet water, gathering rays ee A's, and so even in the darkness the slightest spark plays. Sweet water displays. Sweet water.... Sweet water... Sweeetwater display ee A's....
@@soundscrazyhaha to me reaper is more like a Toyota Reliable and does whats needed. I’ve had pro tools crash a lot more often then reaper has crashed.
Pretty intense! Back when I met this gentleman (lollapalooza brasil 2019) I believe he was on monitors for BMTH and was very nice to me and my guys. Happy to see him still with them!
Hi Sweetwater, great video! Oh man Jared is a machine, BMTH always sounds insane! A question though,... So waves super rack is used so a waved card is used in the console. But how about live professor, and the x4. Is the X4 analog inserted? Or is it inserted into a madi rig. So the channels are inserted via madi so it can be used with live professor?
Hi Joren, great question! Typically Apollos are analog inserted and not used via MADI. We don’t have this exact information for BMTH’s rig on hand, but feel free to reach out if we can help you get your own setup dialed in! Jason Filloramo, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1281, Jason_Filloramo@sweetwater.com
The X4 is running analog into a Ferrofish, which converts to MADI, from there it runs into a MadiFace XT which is connected to the Mac Studio running Live Professor. From there it’s Optical Fibre Madi into the Madi Card on the console 👍
That's cool he's using UAD for some of it. I've seen a few people now adapt the Apollo interfaces for live sound. It can be hard to find low latency stuff to use live sometimes. You still can't use most of it for monitors. Maybe when GPU audio releases their SDK there will be more low latency plugins using the GPU.
*And again the same thing, how cool and good everything is, but show at least one real light show. All I saw was just a set of light effects and running lights and no connection with the music. Show a SHOW in which light and music have a connection!*
Sad to think that he’s not much of an engineer, but a computer operator. With the whole show running on snapshots, and he doing nothing much more than adjusting groups, he’s not really missing… The computer is. I saw something in front of house recently were they talked about how a I could eventually replace the engineer. Looks like that’s already happened. I must be old school because I find this to be incredibly sad!
But it's still your work to create those snapshots, to made EQ and all that automatization, so you don't have to worry about so much when the band is playing.
I am old school as well, but this guy is working. The decisions are his, he made the snapshots. It’s his show, he is not relying on tech to do his thinking for him. It is arguably not as much fun as doing everything on the fly on a giant analogue console, but it is more effective.
heard the band live in Paris, I don't mind it being over-processed if it sounds that good. It was literally the best show I've heard live. Jared knows what he's doing.

Keep these behind-the-scenes things coming, Sweetwater. Everybody loves a glimpse behind the music curtain!
I prefer the band rig tour videos/behind the scenes videos over the actual performance 😂
BMTH sound and overall production are insanely good, great job!
This guy used to work for Northlane back in the day, awesome to see him working massive gigs now
He is using the Reaper! Not Pro Tools, not Cubase. See? You can be professional with any DAW.
Nobody really cares though who uses what
What an edgy comment. Yeah, people use reaper and win Grammys. But pro tools is like a Ferrari and Reaper is like a home built Frankenstein racecar.
I use FL studio for my guitar pip squeak
whatever works for that

Sweet, Jared! Digging the automation pans and whatnot.. cool idea. Looks like you have your hands full with that rig. Fun stuff
Love that band!!! Thanks for the tour and behind the scenes @Sweetwater and "Bring Me the Horizon!!!!"
Not sure what language he's speaking but he definitely knows what he's talking about!
Nice to see Reaper automation and people puttin that much work into it!
And here I am thinking my Ableton looks crazy sometimes....shout out to all engineers out there!
Seeing a pro running Reaper makes me extremely happy! REAPER GANG RISE UP (I bought Reaper lol)
Like everyone in the live world is running reaper lol
Id' like to see an interview like this one but for the team of the visuals in the screens 🖤.
How the Live profesor communicates with A&H?through Dante? thank you
Love that he uses reaper! Reaper gang rise up!
I love the setup❤
Get some yezza! We love to see it x
how does he do the pan automation on dLive?
What happens when Reaper fails mid show? Do you go back to manual mixing?
How is he automating console??
Is he using reaper stock? Or reaper live the one for $50 that peeps made for live music?

Aha! Looking forward for the summer run to hear the mix again! Goodluck on tour @@jareddaly3436

Good morning ! I need this light for my internship. can you help me with the details of each light. THANKS
Im a simple man. I see Reaper, I hit like
SAME.
4.20, nice
This is the producer from Dethklok
Intro audio is very hot.
Led Zeppelin had pretty much the same setup
This guy’s rig gives me hella anxiety 😂 the fact he’s “not mixing” and relying so heavily on MIDI makes me worry

Waves, UAD and Live Professor??? Weird.
Huh?

Except sonically shows are so much better sounding than even 5 years ago.....
This has been going on for years. Personally think it's best to give the audience the best show
But it's still your work to create those snapshots, to made EQ and all that automatization, so you don't have to worry about so much when the band is playing.
Yep you are old school. This is the future, and you have to adapt. He's not being replaced, just making his job a whole lot easier.

Even Live nowadays: Overprocessed and automated.
and sounding better than ever
