- The Grand Trunk Road formerly known as Uttarapath, Sarak-e-Azam, Badshahi Sarak, Sarak-e-Sher Shah is one of Asia's oldest and longest major roads. For at least 2,500 years] it has linked Central Asia to the Indian subcontinent. It runs roughly 2,400 km from Teknaf, Bangladesh on the border with Myanmar[4][5] west to Kabul, Afghanistan, passing through Chittagong and Dhaka in Bangladesh, Kolkata, Allahabad, Delhi, and Amritsar in India, and Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar in Pakistan.
Chandragupta Maurya of the Mauryan Empire in ancient India, built his highway along this ancient route called Uttarapatha in the 3rd century BCE, extending it from the mouth of the Ganges to the north-western frontier of the Empire. Further improvements to this road were made under Ashoka. The old route was re-aligned by Suri to Sonargaon and Rohtas. The Afghan end of the road was rebuilt under Mahmud Shah Durrani. The road was considerably rebuilt in the British period between 1833 and 1860.
The road coincides with current N1, Feni,(Chittagong to Dhaka), N4 & N405 (Dhaka to Sirajganj), N507 (Sirajganj to Natore) and N6 (Natore to Rajshai towards Purnea in India) in Bangladesh; NH 12 (Purnea to Bakkhali ), NH 27 (Purnea to Patna), NH 19 (Kolkata to Agra), NH 44 (Agra to Jalandhar via New Delhi, Sonipat, Panipat, Ambala and Ludhiana) and NH 3 (Jalandhar to Attari, Amritsar in India towards Lahore in Pakistan) via Wagah; N-5 (Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Lalamusa, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Khyber Pass towards Jalalabad in Afghanistan) in Pakistan and AH1 (Torkham-Jalalabad to Kabul) to Gazani in Afghanistan.
Over the centuries, the road acted as one of the major trade routes in the region and facilitated both travel and postal communication. The Grand Trunk Road is still used for transportation in present-day Indian subcontinent, where parts of the road have been widened and included in the national highway system

All different. Some minor similarities
May b some similarities with punjab but rest of Pakistan is quite different.
Different cultures, different food, different libas etc
Not true
Just Punjabis have similarities(not same) not all India Pakistan
Why you are speaking without logic or fact ?
You indian are total cringe
Pakistan has nothing to do with beharis , marthis, Tamils , Bengalis leave us alone

Thank you for your kind words and appreciation.
I enjoy travelling more on GT road than motorway. It is not as good as motorway but it has more facilities, passes through a lot of cities, and travell time is almost the same as well. There is always something new to discover. The scenery is great especially from Rawalpindi to Jhelum.

Good one Sir .....!
Thank you for your kind words and appreciation.
the GT road in Punjab India till delhi has been developed as a 6 lane highway which has overpasses and flyovers at every intersection. from panipat to delhi it is a 8 lane highway now. its a very busy highway in India in todays time probably one of the most busiest in south Asia. great to see the GT road of western punjab as well. this road has connection to culture, traditions of punjab
GT road has its own glory & legacy.
ماشاء اللہ تبارک اللہ
جزاک اللہ اعظم صاحب
Hamare yaha ab GT road ke sath me ab bhout pahele hi toll roads ( expressway) ban gaye hai. GT road Kolkata se Amritsar tak hai. Ab yeh bhout hi bade purane cities ko touch karti hai. Heavy traffic ke karan ab new route devloped ho gai hai. Uttar Pradesh me ab 3 famous expressway( Agra Delhi, lucknow Agra, porvanchal) hai. Ab ek new longest expressway banane ja raha hai ganga expressway ( Varanasi to meerut) 600 km long.
Bhai hmary yahan bhi Motorways bnay hue hn bhai nay yeh sirf dikhany k liye travel kiya hai GT road py
3:24 My school on behind and also my village named Dhaunkal one of the biggest village of punjab you can search it..
Well done 👍
Thank you for your kind words and appreciation.
Maasha Allah!!
recently travelled to gujrat from lahore. the road is really bad and especially the traffic around gujranwala is horrendous. but i have soo many fond memories of GT road.
Lahore to Gujranwala takes 2 hours in peak time
Hum ne GT Road se Lahore ka saffar 2008 main kiya tha still yadain hai Mian G Restaurant and Hotel se khana bhi khaya tha .

Pakistan is very beautiful ❤️
Thank you for your kind words and appreciation.
Assalamualaikum, Butt sb good Vlog, i am also a fan of GT road and travelling on this road for last almost 30 yrs now..., aur yeh motorway aur GT road wali behs taqreeban har dafa hoti hai , so hum abb lhr GT road say jatay hain aur wapis Motorway say aa jatay hain...
Takay rola mukk jaiy...
GT road pay aap lalamusa mein "Nona Halwai" ki barfi zaroor try karain, rd k dono taraf inki shops hain....aur waisay tusi Rahwali di suleman di kulfi v zaroor dikhani siii....
Have safe journey always...
And the most interesting fact you missed about GT road, yeh kabhi bhi dono side say Mukammal bani hoi aap nahi dekhain gay....i think no one in pakistan have ever seen it completely built bothways..
Pata nahi aay ki chakkar aay.....
Takribun 30 sal say me safar kr rha hun meny kbhi bhi isko complete bny nhi dekha koi na koi part construct ho hi rha hota hy 😆
