- This is the improved, enhanced and revamped version of the first Metal Slug 5 Remake - A ROM Project made to restore Metal Slug 5 to its original state with all the scrapped contents in the game (as the developers rushed the development on the original game, a lot of contents were left unused.) This is the final version of Metal Slug 5 Remake, and I did a genuine no death speedrun without time-out death or any death at all (and on Level-8 instead of Level-4) as the timer is also readjusted as part of the revamping. Huge thanks to Mr.Beacon00 for giving me the game ROM early! A huge shoutout to him and his team who made the game! ( / @mrbeacon00 )
Changes & Improvements
-Stone Turtle now displays the lightning effect when receiving damage
-The timer is readjusted to 90 for the final boss phrase
-Achilles is added to the game as a supporting NPC
-Ptolemaios' boss fight has a wider hitbox
-The graphics are now in full pixels

Man, I wished this game is never rushed.
Would love to see the Flame Shot added into this Remake. I remember in debug mode there's a dummied out stage that has the Flame Shot.

Esos agregados le dan más sentido a la última misión, la tortuga , los añadidos a la torre, el tolemaico si parece un profeta terrorista que va a convocar al diablo. Solo le hubiera agregado al jefe final que cuando ataca con la guadaña la pasar de extremo a extremo de la pantalla y tener que detener su avance como con los trenes de metal Slug 2

¿Cómo hubiera sido Metal Slug 5 con el contenido que faltaba? Sería de infarto. Aunque el tanque a 2 patas contra el jefe final lo hace algo más fácil en cuanto a pelea se refiere a mí parecer. Pudo quitar ese contenido por falta de tiempo o por ser más extendido en última misión (eso último díselo a Metal Slug 3). Y hablando del "jefe final" oficialmente hablando (con todo y guadaña), siento que ese último está algo incompleto, no por la apariencia que está realmente bien hecho, sino por la ausencia de otorgar más habilidades. Eso lo sé, por el simple hecho que en los Metal Slugs anteriores te sueltan power ups en mitad de la pelea. Pudo usar la tormenta de orbs y uno de color más fuerte para dar ese power up al chocar contra el suelo. También pudo aprovechar ese agujero negro como para invocar más subordinados en la última pelea. Y dar un 15% más de resistencia al al jefe final por lo antes mencionado.

Pues todavia esta algo incompleto el juego todavia, la tortuga de piedra tiene ataques muy simples, faciles de esquivar, deberia por lo menos lanzar bolas de fuego asi como el jefe de la primera mision, no lo se taria bien que tomen de base a la tortuga de piedra del metal slug 5 elite de totes amaze

Imagine if there was a game in which some of the bosses were units from MSA, like dragunov or caroline with her mech, it would be interesting

Se me ocurrió una loca idea para un mod. Que la pistola no sea infinita y tenga 100 balas, y cuando se agote solo puedas usar ataques cuerpo a cuerpo.

I wish the content was restored to Arcade and Console such as Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One, although I doubt the restore content will be included in SONY PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, as well as the planned 2.5/3D Mobile Game "Metal Slug: Code J".

So only 2 mid bosses were cut from the game? Besides that the only changes were done in the final mission so I thought more content was eliminated from the released game... which really amounts to not much so all that disappointment and negativity towards the game is not actually justified
No, there was a LOT more in the concept art and design notes, but the only stuff they salvaged in this fan update was those bosses.

Is this version virus-less? I know the one made by AA Studio MS5 Elite's ROM file is entirely infected. Or is this remake version a whole new, made from the ground up, one? Also where do I find the download link for this version? I known Mr.Beacon00 has an old video up about this, with a link, but it could be a older version; this older version also trips "Phishing Attachment IOC's" when run thru VirusTotal, so I am unsure of how to find the correct version.

Me podrías a hacerlo funcionar? Por favor, ya descargue el mame plus y los archivos del canal de Mr. Beacon00, descomprimo el rar y pongo los 3 archivos(neogeo, mslug5 y mslug5nd) en la carpeta roms y ejecutó el mame, reconoce los 3 archivos y se puede jugar la versión normal pero al querer jugar el mslug5nd no inicia por qué dice" Game is missing One or more requiered rom or chd images", ayuda por favor

Metal Slug 5 is only metal slug you can take 4 -5 hit on Slug you're riding. A Vulcan lock as well

I CAN understand the cut contents: time was running out and resources few... BUT I can NOT understand why they exploited so badly the new features they added (rebels with throwing knives, rebels with machine guns, masked enemies, Metal Slug-like enemy tanks, officers... we must strive to notice them! But also the natives, who are present but practically helpless). This game forces us to fight against boring re-skinned enemies when, even without considering the cut contents, there would be so many new features to use better.
