Saymyname has been know under that nickname at least from 2015. Earlier he played as vns_yellow, but for example Bact was Bacgioifro and ACCM played as vietnam_human.
In the El Dorado game, I'm surprised saymyname didn't make a couple of chukonu to fend off the ram push. They shred rams, and even a couple behind the castle would be a huge impact. He was making crossbows so he even had the eco & upgrades for them already.
Great playing Saymyname but ACCM definitely deserved that win. Especially with the tips to Bact this guy is going to be a giantslayer in the tournament.
I think there should be some changes to the random Seeds of El Dorado !! Once the TC was barely touching the Gold/Stone Middlesection, Once the TC is touching the Water, its kinda Random and so the Map Generation CAN defenitly cause one player to loose... and I know thats AoE2 standard, and the reason why we play more then one game, but with up to 6 different maps, one player can become unlucky on his Home map, and this will make him loose critical games
I've got a question for any of you good players : I don't understand why even pro players don't always totally wall in their base. I mean half of the games I see (that you post T90 which means they are between pro players) are lost because of raid. The thing is, I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure walling is something easy to do in this game and it would make them way more secure. Thanks for the replies :)
I wouldnt say I'm that good. But from my experience properly walling in your base is actually quite difficult if you are trying to micro units at the same time. Mostly I think its once you get to castle age, houses and palisades are not enough to keep units out and the stone is usually better spent on castles so keeping your base sealed at that point is mute. As well, I think people fall into the brain trap of assuming your own raids will distract them from raiding you. Cheers
@@icecoldchilipreppers Yeah I agree with you that it adds a difficulty in terms of micro and it probably is hard to overcome, but I'm still not totally convinced when it comes to pros. I agry with you that in imp it's complicated, I strill thought that in castle age it's easier to defent than attack. And I'm assuming you have the same army as the opponent and it's just a question of position so I assume you don't have the time to destroy a house to go in. I didn't think thought that spending some stone on walls is that expansive but I'm not at the point where I calculate everything haha I agry both can raid, but I still think that raiding while destroying a house or without is completely different. Thanks for the answer !
You can ram down a stonewall down in about 15 Seconds or even faster, which makes the rest of your wall obsolete...walls dont have much line of sight so its just wasted stone and wasted makro
Is there usually water around the edge on El Dorado? I've definitely seen older games that didn't have it, and that had sand around the TC instead of that marsh terrain. Just curious about the change.
The AOE2 community losing its shit over a toggleable feature available to one unit per player per game, which will almost never be used above beginner levels of play, is something to behold.
Jordan Quiles I don't know if you saw one of SOTL's latest videos where he talks about auto scouting. In that video there's a meme that shows how, gradually, the devs may make the AI play for you. Obviously that's exaggerated but what they may do is turn the game into a Dota with multiple units (in the sense that there's no macro and just pure fighting micro. The fact that new players are more likely to use it is the major problem as thei're supposed to learn, to improve. We had enough of new players using only Huns so they don't need houses and then getting housed every single game when they tried to switch. But in reality no one's losing their shit, pretty much no one says anything about it beyond the fact it's useless (in avg to pro games) and not needed at all
as someone who does not play aoe2 a lot, I would like to ask if it would not be more beneficial to try and dodge shots with the units in the front line during archers battles like the ones in the last match? what I tend to do in another RTS is that I run evasive manoeuvres with the units in the front line while firing with the ones in the back so is there something that makes this less viable in aoe2?
in castle age with the ballistics upgrade it is nearly impossible to dodge archer shots. But you could use a ram (high pierce armor) in front to soak the archer fire.
Brigman Rivers Seriously man. Either disable it altogether or operate on an approval system that filters away all the spam and hilarious memes. I think viewer commentary can be a good thing thing if it’s moderated properly as it is in most sports.
Yeah that chat got me annoyed, usually twitch chat is "spammy" but this was something else. Two hours of nonstop retardation. In the end I wanted ACCM to win because I don't wanna see this dead meme ever again. Honestly I hope T90 will enable subscriber only chat and moderate it because this level of cancer makes everyone involved look bad. Memes can be funny but this was just spam. Especially sad considering how good the games themselves are but all people can seem to comment is "hurr Tristan, hurr Dave, hurr who is yellow". If you're the kinda person who spams this please off yourself :)
I covered that part of my screen so I wouldn't be distracted by the idiotic chat. Isn't it possible for mods to filter certain words? Whatever... twitch will be twitch.
Can you remove the twitch chat from your you tube overlay? For the most part, there is nothing of note in the stream and it’s hugely distracting. Feel like that screen space could be used for information, not mom memes.....
Water is OP. Period. Ok, you want your ships to be able to attack 15 miles inland? then let my sword swing attack 15 miles out into water. It is one of the reasons I don't totally endorse AOE. Same thing with StarCraft - too many inconsistencies - why can't the most advanced civ heal themselves in any way? Dumb.
@@genericyoutubeaccount579 Ummm, referring to StarCraft, not AOE in that statement. Protoss (most advanced civ) can't heal their own units, and they don't have monks in case you weren't aware. Want me to break down some of the dumb stuff in AOE? Ok. Arrows DON'T break stone walls. SWORDS don't break stone walls. Archers aren't going to break a siege weapon, unless they, maybe, are using some form of fire attack. Look at history, most sieges (even Stalingrad) were won or lost based on starving out or causing disease in the besieged fortification - not by breaking down the walls. Units would be in formation, protecting critical units. The siege would NEVER be in front of the attacking forces, unless those forces have been defeated. Why can ships shoot an inconceivable distance into shore? Why can monks convert military units from a distance? Really? Some priest standing on a hilltop 2 miles away preaching is going to make my best military units change sides? Is that enough examples?
@@bdoeden64 Hitting a house with a sword causes it to catch fire. Then hitting it with a hammer somehow puts the fire out. 10 Elephants fit in a boat but 11 archers don't.
