I am 64 years old..and I still tear up something fierce when I hear Lou sing I wanna know what Love is...God...the memories just flood my mind at a time when my father had died, my wife had left me, I had children that needed me and I was 2500 miles away...I was so lost, drinking, drugs, and was falling into an abyss of depression...and yet here I am today...and I made it through it. Lou IS FOREIGNER to me..the original lead vocals and the one and only of the band. I am a DJ for weddings and HS dances..and I play their music to the new Gen Z kids...and they LOVE IT...Rock On Lou....I will never forget what you did for the music industry, and for Rock in the 70' s and 80's.
Tearing up something fierce is so damn refreshing to hear, and you are absolutely right. Lou was the "the guy" behind the mic and the perfect fit with Foreigner. Lou is an individual who helped change and improve the way songs were written and reset the musical writing bar. You will not see that kind of magic backed by those vocals in the times we live in now. Sadly, these fantastic and iconic songwriters and musicians in general are no longer leading the way. I hope that you are tearing it up at 74 and keep the dream and music of our past, alive. Cheers!
If Mick truly contributed 60%…. he should have put 50% down on that piece of paper. Give Lou an extra 10% and build a trust and friendship for life. That’s how you do it.
@@basher5107mick knew that song would be the golden egg .. and he was right, it’s been used in movies hundreds of times. Its cross genre appeal is unprecedented. But what he did to Lou is unforgivable
Sitting down after the final mix and deciding who gets what was beyond stupid,if you contribute in the song and it seems Lou was writing melodies and lyrics that’s a 50/50 arrangement. That proves to me Lou was a straight shooter and not interested in confrontation and Mick used that to his advantage. It’s Lou’s fault for accepting that arrangement to begin with, that’s what producers and managers are for so you get what’s yours. You got this Lou, you have 100's of 100's of people following you & who are loyal. I stopped listening to Foreigner when you left & I'll never listen again! I love you man.

I had not noticed however till I read your comment and there it was. The wings I can't stop looking at 15 minutes now and I agree with you all the way!
Love Lou!!... Saw him perform last night and YES he's definitely still great and vocals are the BEST... Foreigner is foolish to have not done anything to keep him... Ego and greed... Carry on Lou... We all will always come see YOU!!!❤
Never trust the friend who is patting you on the back, some are doing it to feel where the soft spot is to drive in the knife...Good for you Lou...his loss!!

“Foreigner” is such a great band. There’s so much elitism in rock music that they’re often dismissed as being corporate rock, which is very unfair. Great interview!
That was one of the best songs of all time. I have always been a HUGE Foreigner fan, but that song, that BALLAD of all things, is just incredible. It's stunning to me that Mick Jones would do that to him. Wow. Lou was awesome and MADE that band. To this day, HE and Paul Rogers are in my opinion the best rock singers of all time.
Lou Gramm’s rock vocals stand shoulder to shoulder with the best of the best. Foreigner with Lou was awesome. Lou without foreigner... STILL awesome. 😎👍
Lou should have got up and kicked Mick in the teeth and then said I am sorry what was the split again? Lou was hurt that's all. Ive worked with guys that started out okay, but then it became horrid to even have that person around me let alone tour with
Lou was the hand that fed Mick.... plain and simple. When you have a formula that works, you don't f**k with it. Mick and Foreigner are just a tribute act without Lou. I would love to write a few songs with Lou just to throw it in Mick's face. Midnight Blue was such a great piece of work.
I hope that Mick in his old age and who is in failing health now regrets doing those things that Lou is talking about. Just acknowledging that he done Lou wrong would go a long way in mending their relationship.

100% Lou Gramm, Amazing Talent💜💚💛💙
Lou Gramm's voice was the sound of Foreigner, for sure
Nothing is ever . . .
I agree.
Jones is a jealous jerk. Lou, you’re golden.
Just a typical human being who got too big for his own good, greed kills
Most definitely! The same for Neal Schon and Steve ''The Voice'' Perry!
There is no Foreigner without Lou Gramm. Make no bout about it...Lou is the anointed mortal .
Totally agree! That voice is unforgettable and unmatched.
Halleluja.
yes agreed
No Opera without Poveratti No Theator with out AL Pacino.
Unfortunately this attitude is derived from empoverished experience with Music and Money.
We Know what love is!
Foreigner is nothing without Lou Gramm. They’ve never had the same success without him and obviously never will.
Same as Journey without Steve
Foreigner Is Now Nothing But A Tribute Band ! Period!
Same w/Journey, Styx which come to mind (obviously more)
😂 that's funny
Yes a tribute only!!!!
And a bad one at that .. cabaret tribute
Foreigner now is a karaoke band without LOU GRAMM !!!
No Lou, No Foreigner!
Such an insult. That iconic lead vocal made that song. His singing is truly of a whole other caliber.
He's a great singer. He made the band. His voice is one of a kind. He was Foreigner.

I’m 72 and I fell in love all over again when I watch the Farm Aide video of “I want to know what love is “❤😍
Mick & Lou should have been 50-50 from the start. When money gets in the way it takes the fun out of it.
Agreed, see Lennon-McCartney
I was going to say same thing. If they are working together and putting time in split it 50 50

Lou Was Foreigner. I saw Him about 9 years ago at Jergel's in Warrendale PA. He And His Brother Ben Killed It!
Lou. You are the best. Love your contribution to the LOST BOYS Soundtrack (Lost in the Shadows) what a song!!!!!!
