Been watching all your videos . I do gardening but haven't been well so had time out qnd now re building better than ever Your full of energy can tell you enjoy it your very good are you doing it full time for yourself
We laid new turf without adding a new top soil. I was nervous if the roots take in. After a week the roots established to the point I couldnt lift the turf. Two weeks on and all looks lush.
Good question I put on my trailer and took it away However what I am now starting to do is fully spray off a lawn with weed killer and then just cultivate it all and then just rake off the worst of the turf
@@mackthomas8750 thanks for the reply, did you manage to find somewhere to dispose of the turf? I find it difficult to find somewhere that takes it. Good luck with the rest of your business
@@michaelhare3473 thanks Yes it's very difficult to get rid of turf the only way you can get rid of it is grab lorry or skip or just leave it in a pile for 2 years and then it turns into topsoil. Or spray off with weed killer wait 3-weeks and cultivated back into the ground
I gave the customer 2 options returf or scarify top dress and overseed and level out the lawn with lots of topsoi . It wasn't a small bit bumpy there was big dips in the lawn that were over 1 ft deep It's not about which one is easier or less labour intensive it's about finding the right option for the customer in this case the customers wanted a perfect lawn you going to get much better results from re-turfing then renovating the lawn because of all the preparation work we did to the ground before laying I spent a lot of time talking to the customers finding out what they want from their lawn I discussed all of the options and costs and this was the right option for them
@@mackthomas8750 aeration is the key to a successful lawn. So long as you get paid mate. I did half a pressure washer job today but couldn't restart the engine after refueling.
That's got to be the worst video I've seen about laying turf. The rows of turf look pissed. There are gaps between the individual rolls of turf. Effinell and the worst thing is you didn't lay the turf in a brick type pattern. No wonder you don't want to show a follow up video on how it looks. If I were the customer I'd tell you to re do it but properly.
Thanks for your feedback by the way the turf was harvested about 6 hours before I laid and I lay it staggered joints so it wouldn't dry out any bad rolls of turf I didn't use or I cut the bad bits off I have given the customer a warranty so if they're not happy with the finished product I will rip it up and do it's again free of charge It has been about 3 months now since I leave this lawn the customers are still very happy with the results and the lawn is looking absolutely amazing and both me and the customers are very happy with the new lawn I take great pride in all of my work I don't care about what you think about how I lay turf the end of the day I'm the one offering a warranty not you I'm happy with the results that customers is really happy with the results and the lawn looks great and I did what I said I'd do and I did it to a very high standard Thanks for your feedback have a good week 😀
