We now know that Yotha and Warit were boyfriends and the separation left them both unhappy and vulnerable. Santa can cycle through expressions on his face one after the other, and do so convincingly. Love it. I continue to be amazed at the writing and directing. We had that silly moment when Gun comes out in the matching cute pajamas and they look ridiculous together, and somehow I end up with tears welling up in my eyes two minutes later when Yotha says, "No one has ever said anything like that to me," and "No one has ever paid attention to me or noticed how I feel," without feeling the change of tone was forced. I think it has to do with the fact that the actors and writers understand the characters so well. Arm and Gun are like two teenage girls who can't go to the toilet without taking a friend with them, and then come out of a movie in sad hysterics because Old Yeller (that tells you how old I am) died. Another skillful acting job on the part of Book, though. When they are at the university, I can tell from his performance that Arm realizes he is now at the second level and needs to mature and be a leader. Nice job.
