I've been living in the Philippines starting 1983, after I retired from the USAF. I don't miss anything in or about America! As long as my benefits keep coming, I'm staying where I am! I'm happy here.
i feel u bro, why make life more harder than u need to? just be practical. In the PI u will make the most of you life with each day counting for something because you are treated more as a human being and thats because in general people there tend to be more respecful, friendly, and open and thats not a dig to other countries. You have money and friends, thats goes a loong way and thats hard to beat.
I agree with you 💯. I lived and worked in the Philippines for many years. As a Black man, I was most happiest living overseas because I was better received and accepted. Like a heavy weight no longer on my shoulders with regards abject racism, racial profiling, and many problems inherent being Black in America. It’s just different being overseas. I was accepted for being a person, not a skin color.mI just didn’t feel those things in the PI, Thailand, Panama, Honduras, Ecuador, Greece, Sri Lanka, Iceland, Morocco, Mongolia, and in most of the countries I lived in or visited in Africa. Like you, I love my country, however I am not happy that it is slow or unwilling to change. I am a Veteran of 20 years USAF and was stationed at Clark AB towards the end of the Vietnam War. I had since returned to the PI - as a part of my government job - and taught electronics at Poro Point, San Fernando City, La Union and Tinang, Concepcion Tarlac. You have a beautiful family.
I've been there. It's like black men from the U.S. who have been to the Phillipines share a certain kinship, because we know how pleasant the experience is. It's hard to describe in words how good it feels not to feel the unrelenting pressures of racism. I married a woman from the Phillipines and oh my God. They are awesome companions.
Greece and Iceland are countries mostly white populated. You never experienced any racism from the people there? Where you there while being in the AF? Maybe you were treated a little different because they looked at you as representing the US as a whole a country that is still considered no. 1 . No other countries has 11 or 12 aircraft carriers all active duty. So 20 yrs in the Military got you a 50 per cent retirement but did teaching electronics brought you more income?
harsep I was Iceland for a year while in the AF. I did not experience racism. Too cold most of the time to interact with the population. Plus, a curfew was imposed on all Americans there to be inside at 11pm. I was in Greece (Athens, Rhodes, Kavala, and Thassos) when I taught electronics as a part of my government job. I was in those places many times. Greece is more diverse than many think. The Milwaukee Bucks all star player Giannis Antetokounmpo is a Black Greek. His mother, father, and brothers are Greek. He is very popular their and they take pride in him. I have live and visited many countries. I experienced racism more in the United States. Teaching electronics overseas was a part of my government job. It was a 5-year project. When it ended, I became and IT Specialist and a Foreign Service Officer. My military career was in Avionics, Electronics Technical Instructor and Course Development. Between my 20 year military career (which assisted in getting a Federal job with regards my qualifications and the 5-point Veteran preference) and my 22 year Federal career in which I am now retired from, my pension is quite significant. The local high school in my city wanted to hire me to teach electronics and be an assistant Varsity Basketball coach. I declined because I did not retire to start working again. No need to. I am retired. If I were to recommend money making career paths to young people, I would recommend IT (Cisco and Microsoft networks and security) and learning to code in Python and PHP). Also, pursue Foreign Service positions, And, DO NOT work for corporations because they hire and fire on a whim, but to get a Government job. They are more secure, high-paying, have more longevity, and great benefits.
I learned that 15 years ago. I lived in DAVAO when they were still kidnapping and I felt more safe there than in Texas. I also learned Filipino are not racist. The racism comes from the west. So yes if you can't accept and live like the locals such as a simple life able to eat even though a cockroach or ants run across the table while you are eating. Don't complain stay in your country because Philippines is more than getting women to me it's about the respect.
@@gargamel55 nothing I say nothing like other countries. I never seen a brown American hanging from a tree in the Philippines. The only time I heard a racist comment was from a white guy to a black guy with security. They put guns to his head and made him apologize. Actually I was all over the Muslim strongholds and not 1 single time I was discriminated against
There is no such thing as peaceful place in this world then and now. The wisest thing to do is living in a place where people welcome you for who you are and the peace and happiness will follow.
you will love it here in the Philippines. I moved here to the beach life here in the Philippines to relax and enjoy life. I now am a vlogger too, but didn't come here to do it. It is just fun to show how great it is here. Check my channel! Where in the Philippines will you move to ?
I’ve live in Melbourne Australia for 38 years originally from Philippines and the best day of my life is being back living here in CEBU. Philippines is full of life, natures, human interactions and Filipino loves good vibes and happiness
Here in the Philippines, we have subject in school that is called"Values Education" that teaches good moral and right conduct. It is being instilled in our mind at a young age to be respectful and polite, especially to the elders.
Yes I've heard about it, I have a friend who works for the PED. The students get a certificate of good morals on completion,it's a great idea and gives the students something to strive for.
That subject was removed for some time ago. No wonder why kids are now so rude and disrespectful, along with terrible influences like TV shows and internet
My family and I left Chicago last year and my wife & kids are happy we made the move here to the Philippines. We have no plans to go back to the U.S. The friendships we’ve made here are so much more genuine.
My wife is from The Philippines, I've been there one i can't wait to go back, I loved it there, the people, the places you can go, everything. In the United States there is just too much bullshit, people are always stressed too much fighting etc...I definitely want to retire there, moving there I don't know if we can now. This are too fucked up in the states, i wouldn't recommend coming back
you will love it here in the Philippines. I moved here to the beach life here in the Philippines to relax and enjoy life. I now am a vlogger too, but didn't come here to do it. It is just fun to show how great it is here. Check my channel!
On a superficial glance, an alpine meadow seems ideal too. Wait till winter. Way, way more bullshit in the Philippines. Tones of examples of you being a cow that should be milked and sent home to get more when dry. First let me say I loved my time in the Philippines. Thing that suck in the PI. Food safety Air safety Fake medicines fake policemen fake judges and lawyers Fake doctors (the ones in hospitals) fake cement fake rebar All these things are fake sometimes because the government is run on the principal that government servants are for sale to certify anything if they are paid.
Can't wait to move there in two years. You are so right. Always some bullshit here. And you always have to pay bills and expenses all the time because everything is pricey to a point where you struggle to maintain. Money is always number one here and it seems into your relationship and end up breaking what you have. Plus the media is corrupting folks too. It's morally corrupt. This country only has money. You find people here with lots of it but they are the most miserable. Go to places like the Phillipines, they are so happy with having less. Money isn't their number one to survive.
I hear you bro! I once lived in an island called Manhattan. Now in an island in the Philippines. Best decision I ever made. Life and people here are beautiful!
You are right. It's sad though. I want to go there too. I need somewhere like this and plus my girl is over there. I need a change of pace. This man here is lucky. This is where I wanna be in two years. Not here in the US. It's getting nuts here
@@schneider9615 No way. Thank God. I'm in New Jersey. One thing I can say about Jersey. It's very chill there. I give it that. Portland has gotten nuts. The whole Western side of the country as well. This man is lucky to be in the Philippines. Just look at him. You can see the peace and tranquility on his face. Why come back to the US and deal with the BS you have to deal with as a Black man when you can be here and have a woman that loves him and happiness? I would wish this life this man has for anybody. Thank you so much for your concern. We need to have it for each other right now. More than ever
Always happy to see an outsider marrying a Filipina woman and standing by her. This guy is not one of those guys who just come to your country and bang as many women as they can. It's refreshing to see a real man stand up unlike all these Jokers running around thinking their a man just cuz they got money in their pocket. You're real, brotha. I like that.
Hi, my wife and I moved to the Philippines a little over 1 year ago. We found a place out in the country near the Taal Lake and Volcano. We love it here, and have become part of the community. This pandemic has put a brake on our ability to travel to many parts of the PI. But I still love it here. If you are ever in our area, Tagaytay, you are welcome to come for a visit.

When you are ready, just come by our house and we can give you some advise.

I really concur with your video. Having lived in the Philippines back in the day in 1991 at Clark Air Base (Angeles). I always wanted to go back to the Philippines. Now, I am getting to retirement age so really contemplating that move in the future.. Having been blessed and lived in six (6) countries in my life. Philippines, Japan, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the Marshall Islands. A total of about 19 years living overseas in my 57 years of life. Of course the Philippines have been the best country I lived in, Be glad to see more videos as you done in the past, GOD speed., now time to share this informative video.
Seeing how foreigners wanting to migrate and live here in the Philippines for good, somehow boost our pride as Filipinos. I guess 10 years from now we will be over populated coz' pf you guys. It's ok. The more, the merrier....lol... Welcome to the Philippines my dear brothers and sisters from all over the world. Enjoy your stay.
Lol! Don't worry about overpopulation of especially black foriegners. Black men are and have been moving not just to the Philippines, but to Japan, Africa, South America, Brazil. The world is ours.
@@fredner1000 Foreigners like efficiency. Pinas is the land of inconvenience. Money lost to productivity due to traffic (as 1 example) is in the billions of PHP per year. Another small example would be going to some stores, paying with a 1K or a 500Php bill and the vendor saying they don't have change (and make zero effort to get it).. that's not my problem.. ill take my business somewhere else... many more to list. This is my opinion along with other friends who left the Philippines during the late 80s/eariy 90s to finish school, and have returned to take care of business. That said, Philippines is alright...
Nice hearing your thoughts, as a fellow American I feel you on this. I might also recommend you go to the provinces in Luzon as well. Let’s hang out soon, I’d like to exchange life stories and what led us here. Ya ever consider learning Tagalog?

I’ve never experienced any type of racism in the Philippines even none from other expats....here I’ve experienced it several times...everyone I had encountered there were nice and helpful...
Racism here stand on a regional standpoint. If you're from countryside or from Visayas or Mindanao, they will make fun of you, especially from people in Manila.
Province life in the U.S. is boring while in the Philippines... oh my goodness... you got a lot of choices for adventures and you see/meet a lot of people who will treat you like you are one of them. In the U.S., Americans scan you head to foot, then look at your color and if you don't talk the way they talk then they will look down at you.
Especially seeing them hot province girls. Why does poor countries always have the most beautiful women. In Philippines your head be spinning see all them fine ladies.😁

We basically followed the same path, from the city to upstate. Then to the Philippines. But this video is no surprise, you let us know years ago how u felt. I'm looking to retire there brother, see u soon. 👍🏽
As a person of color I feel safer here in Cebu than New York.... I am happy and at peace... Done with America.. Racism, police, negativity... Every place has its issues but it is very different here.
@@TheBlackFilipino I would like to meet you brother... Maybe one day when the quarantine is relaxed. My fiance is from Laguna.. I been here since November of 2017. Totally loving it here too. I'm working on a retirement visa now.
I need to go there and try and find a good wife. The women seem more tranquil and respectful. I'VE seen a lot of retired guys going there and ending up with good relationships and marriages. It seems like most women today in the US want perfection and materialism.

@@Thebossfromdc Hello, well my family is in the agriculture business, rice planting and during the pandemic the agriculture business is booming, however other businesses like rental property apartments or commercial property , so if you can own land there and can do agriculture or commercial rental you'll be good, land is cheap there. Short term is sending imported goods there through cargo or balikbayan boxes and selling there or opening a store there, you can sell can goods, electronics, clothing for pretty much double the price. Hope this helps.
I was living in Cebu and had a call center recently. But neither now. I'm now looking at full-time vlogging. I'm from Atlanta. If I'm in Manila...I have to hit you up. Looking to start back again traveling to Southeast Asia by November. 👣
Philippines and Indonesia makes you feel relaxed. Most importantly, people mind their own business. Unlike in US or anywhere else. It's just hard to want to leave after being in South East Asia.
@@TheBlackFilipino I've seen countless videos warning against attempting any type of business other than online, it's very risky for a foreigner to have a B&M business in the Fils, besides the constant flow of red tape, the risk of violence is very real for an outsider. Even a small water supply service can raise anger and have you shot dead. How about a video on which types of business you think a foreigner can do? I'm sure that when this pandemic is over there will be good opportunities after the firesales.
What’s up brother. That’s why I love my country Philippines, and I’m moving back home for good, hopefully this year after this virus gone. Be safe and your family
I dont live in NYC, I live on the other side of the state (Buffalo) and where I live i can see the Canada and cant go because the borders are closed. Trust me dude! Don't come back here to the states. If I could live the United States, I would be living in the Philippines. I was supposed to visit the Philippines back in March for 6 weeks.
I thought it was Cuba Gooding Jr. in the thumbnail, lol. Nice video! I feel the same way. I've been here for a little over 2 years, and I don't feel like going back to the US anytime soon.
It's about having money - no matter where you are. Money to live well, with less stress, and travel. Every country favors richer people. If you make $60,000 a year in the US you are struggling. $60,000 a year in the Philippines you are not struggling.
it's called being mentally drained everyday in the usa and canada in general, and you living in the philippines you are mentally relaxed all the time, I can guaranty that right? :)
Hollar bro I’m in NY right now but I was born and raised there in the Philippines 🇵🇭. I can totally relate, I’ve also lived in Manila but im staying in the province now where my wife is when I’m there. The province is definitely a more suitable place for people who are looking for a slower chilled pace. I know it’s not perfect there and poverty is very apparent. But I can personally attest that people are much more happier there and they are more appreciative of what they have. The people are so resilient despite of the personal and natural tragedies that does happened more then one would like. The US is the land of opportunity but I do miss just laying down and enjoying looking at the stars ⭐️ at nigh and actually appreciating it. God Bless bro and God speed on your adventures in the Philippines 🇵🇭. MABUHAY PARE 😎
I've been there 3 times and I know what you mean. It's so nice. I never thought I could even consider leaving the United States. If I did, the Philippines would be my first choice.
I will retire in to the Philippines next July. No maybe's, no excuses. I'm there! I love the Phiilippines and it's incredible people. Here in the US right now I feel like a foreigner in my own country. Great video. Great channel. Congratulations!
The only downside i have with Philippines is it so hard to do business. They really need to open foreign investmen more. I don't like having to have business in Singapore or Malaysia traveling back and forth. It would be less work being able to do business freely without so many restrictions on foreigners. Hope that will change.
@@TheBlackFilipino Hopefully it does. Because that would boost the economy. Until now PHP is still behind all others when it comes to attracting foreign investors. Way, way, behind.
@mistaeric Yes, that's true but when a local sees you as competition they would throw a wrench into it and there is nothing you can do about it. They always take the locals side. In the end, it's all about money. Either you pay the bribes or you're history.😁
Ismail Marsh Depending in the business you want to start, probably better to do it in metto areas such as Manila or Cebu where competition is more fair. No dependence on patronage by a politician or even direct competition with a politician’s own business. Best of luck to you!
With all the things you’ve said brother, feels like I like to go home now. Good luck to you and your family. Filipinos are easy to be with and with that smile and positivity you’ll definitely get more love from us. Much love brother..God Bless.
More Power to You Man. I get such a wonderful vibe when I go to the Pi. One day I will be there, and possibly only visiting the USA. Keep it positive and Thanks for the Vids
I saw some comments talking about money. Maybe you guys should do your research before bashing the Philippines. I think I am well off more than 95% of you and I never ever considered myself more than a local. Even stayed with my good friend as a squatter for 1 month. Loved it.. What you don't get is the hospitality in the 30 countries I been to like the Philippines. Most of you only think of flashing money for sex with the local beautiful women or the bakla. Just so you will know if you have sex with a separated woman you will go to prison. So beware and enjoy what the Philippines has to offer.
@@TheBlackFilipino It's not just about cheap sex, the law prohibits divorce, it is possible to have a marriage cancelled by a process called annulment which is very expensive and most Filipinos can't afford. So even if your Fil GF has been separated (still lawfully married) if her ex wants to bring some shit down on you, you're looking at jail time. Be careful with separated Filipinas, even a family member or work jealous work colleague could have you charged with adultery..... yes it's a crime in the Fils.

Dune fan?
I love black music and movies
"...able to eat even though a cockroach or ants run across the table..." hilarious but true! It is not a big deal for us Filipinos.
He’ll I grew up in Louisiana. I had pet roaches.
Very true
Of course there are racist Filipinos.
Every ethnicity has them.

Here in the Philippines, we have subject in school that is called"Values Education" that teaches good moral and right conduct. It is being instilled in our mind at a young age to be respectful and polite, especially to the elders.
That should be taught in every school worldwide.
@@TheBlackFilipino I agree with you! The world needs good values, more than any form of intelligence.

Philippines, a state that is hell for some... and a paradise for many 🥰🥰let's make it even better😄

Good place to retire!
Food safety
Air safety
Fake medicines
fake policemen
fake judges and lawyers
Fake doctors (the ones in hospitals)
fake cement
fake rebar
All these things are fake sometimes because the government is run on the principal that government servants are for sale to certify anything if they are paid.

Nothing unusual here. In the Philippines, they accept you for who you are. In the USA, you're just another black guy. Bravo.
Haha you better play good at basketball as you had surely been invited to Barangay Tournaments hahah
You are right. It's sad though. I want to go there too. I need somewhere like this and plus my girl is over there. I need a change of pace. This man here is lucky. This is where I wanna be in two years. Not here in the US. It's getting nuts here

@@TheBlackFilipino It's not just about cheap sex, the law prohibits divorce, it is possible to have a marriage cancelled by a process called annulment which is very expensive and most Filipinos can't afford. You don’t want to be here in the US right now Jay - it’s a mess.
I know my family and friends tell me all the time.

Great Channel. Just found it. Love your straight talk. I hope to live half the year in South East Asia.
It great to see someone finding happiness in another country, it is a big deal to leave your home country.
this makes me subscribe. cheers man. Take good care always. may you would like to visit here in antipolo someday. you are welcome here.
That's my retirement plan living abroad in the Philippines..
When you said you're living way above your means that means you're living a lot better than you can actually afford, i thnk you meant that you're living way bellow your means, or that you're living very well for what you spend, not quite sure!!!
I watched your video from time to time since 3yrs ago & this afternoon after watching this episode, you made me think about what you said about what's going on here in the States. The people has become more edgy & angry all the time. White people calling 911 for police to come & arrest individual that they don't like because black families were barbecuing at a park. This is just one example of the many Karen's calling 911 to report a colored person or people of color.
I will be retiring next year 2021 & I am preparing to move to the Philippines for good. I am Fil-Am from San Francisco Bay area. Few of my friends have already move there years ago. Now, I am looking forward to it.
Glad to see you always & your wife ❤️
I came back to the US in June, 2020. But then the virus hysteria got worse and they closed PH to all foreigners. Now I keep hoping that they allow me back in. I'd be back there too if I could. It's good that you're there.
