I think it's best to put straw under the strawberries instead of the plastic film. The plastic holds moisture which might be why some of them are rotting before they ripen. Really enjoy your videos - very relaxing to watch. And your children are wonderful, so well mannered and such good eaters!

We grow strawberries in a big tall pipe with holes it's vertical and the strawberries are hanging they don't touch the earth we don't see much rot maybe make the mound taller so the berries don't touch the ground

I cover my strawberry bed with netting which works well to keep birds out. I use half circles of heavy wire to make a tunnel with the netting. My problem is with slugs.
Growing strawberries is not easy job, take a look how the japanese grow strawberries cover with a big plastic tent is different from growing veggies see and learn more from the japanese way. A good advice is better then gold.

If strawberries get wet, they rot. If it’s been raining and cloudy, the fruit can’t dry off and rot grows quickly.
