In anthropology we had a similar situation in the 80s about objectivity and how anthropologists' representations of others can be used in negative way. Since then we've tried to emphasize the mult-vocal nature of ethnography and scholarship as a way of combating ethnocentrism. That's probably why I'm drawn to people like Howard Zinn, Edward Said, and Noam Chomsky who emphasize this diverse approach in their writing. Also I think historical relativism is needed in history to better understand context and process to avoid the mistakes of our past and avoid presentism Great video as always!
