Boxer kick is my fav! I also call it my “happy jump” btw, i’ve learned it from one of your tutorials, double side swing is next to learn on my list 🤗. grateful for you and your videos! 😍 thanks!
I like to do a mixed routine, I can’t name a favorite. It’s been a long time since I have consistently jumped, I’m getting back into it after years of being lazy!
Lately I’ve been trying criss cross, just a few minutes a day, I’ve had a handful of success, it’s addictive,I have to remember if I do make it over the rope to kind of snap the rope back to shape , hey thanks for the video
Thank you for the moves I actually jog jump through my neighborhood with my weighted and speed ropes and now I have some more moves to incorporate into my workout. Thank you so much! I have been jumping since May. This is my 3rd time loosing weight and this time I notice the difference and this is the best. I am more toned and I definitely look forward to jumping everyday.
Omg I finally found what I needed. I just started this type of cardio and I am lost. I think this is the closest I can get to dancing. I am really bad at dancing and I think this is why I find it very complicated the coordination. I can only do the criss cross and the normal jump. I have a question for people that do jump rope. Is it best to have a day just for this, or is is better to do it every day after the workout?
Jumping rope will definitely help build coordination and connect your mind to your body. Keep going and to answer your Q it really depends on what your goals are. You can use jump rope as your workout by adding in body weight exercises and weighted ropes or you can do it as a cool down and get some light cardio in by practicing tricks. Either way is great for moving your body. :)
I have so many questions. 1. What do you recommend I do for painful shins? 2. Which moves are good for working the lower back to get rid of rolls and back fat? I’ll stop there, but thanks so much if you or anyone is able to help! ❤️ Thanks for the awesome video!
You're very welcome Theresa. I have a video on preventing shin splints. check that out, Tons of tips :) and as far as lower back exercises; bird dog, swimmers, super man are some of my fav. Switch off 30 sec jumping rope and 30 sec of one of those exercise. Or if that's too much 15 sec and workout your way up :)
I’d like to work up to the boxer skip but my coordination isn’t there yet. Just going to do the basics as per your list. I still make mistakes in the basic bounce 😂 but I’m setting aside say 5-10 mins to practice something new
Thats a great Q. If your rope is tangling it is usually your rope if you're using one that's not great for side swings or crosses. I have a video on which handles are good for crosses and which ones are not, they don't rotate well for crosses or side swings and will also tangle.
I just stated to jump rope and I'm so excited!! Thank you so much for this video! Can't wait to try out all of these beginner moves and level up :D Liked and subbed xo
Great video! Im excited to start trying some of these out. I have practiced some of them from your other videos. I think I am going to try the high knee cross overs next! It seems challenging 💪
Yes, it's full body workout and when you use a weighed jump rope it recruit more muscles win the upper body and shoulders. Check out my set here www.gratituderopes.com
I don’t know how I’m the one who ended up out of breath when I was just taking notes while on my bed. 😂 Definitely practicing all of these variations tomorrow. Thanks for the tips!
I really don't do much extra in the way of tricks. I basically focus on just jumping for long periods of time. I use to jump rope while I was in the Air Force. (I'm Finally Retired) I found I could jump rope and not have to do any running in preparation for my P.T. test. Jumping rope really strengthens your quads and calves. Now, at my age (57), I just want to keep my weight down and jumping rope does an excellent job of that. If I could just keep my mouth shut I wouldn't have to jump rope. Oh well. --Now I would like to learn to do a few tricks. I'm up to a 39 minute routine, working my way back to my 45 minute routine which was a 3 minute jump/20 second stretch for 15 sets but without very many tricks. I jump about five days/week. It's a really good workout. I just don't seem to get winded so I need some extra tricks now. --It's always amazing to me how good I feel after I've finished my routine. --Thanks for the instructions. I'm enjoying them. You obviously enjoy yourself. Great job. I'll keep trying to implement some new things just for fun. You definitely get a thumbs up and I subscribed. Blessings to you!
Hi Gene! Nice to meet you and love hearing your story! You sound amazing and great job keeping up with all the jumping. Great way to have fun but working out too. Maybe try a weighted jump rope if you feel like you can handle a little more. :-) Looking forward to hearing more from you! Thank you!

Depends on what you're doing. You definitely want them around your hip area. If you're doing double unders for speed then yes keep them close and elbows at 90degree angle.

How do you stop your rope from tangling when doing the criss-cross, is that purely the ropes fault?
Thats a great Q. If your rope is tangling it is usually your rope if you're using one that's not great for side swings or crosses. I have a video on which handles are good for crosses and which ones are not, they don't rotate well for crosses or side swings and will also tangle.

It's depends on what your goals are. Fitness or tricks. PVS ropes are usually great for almost everything :-)
How polite is the doggo chameo at 5:35
haha they keep me in check. ;-)
I'm using a PVC rope, but it keeps getting tangled when I attempt the 360 turn. Any idea why this might be happening?
Yes, it's probably the handle and not rotating properly.

We all learn at our own pace. Awesome! :)
#6 side straddle... I call those jump rope jacks
Yes, another name for the same trick :)

it will help tone your quads but if you want bigger quads you need to use weights and up your calorie intake ;-)
