Nice interview. I realize Mr. Casamassa is in the business of martial arts selling his services as a qualified professional and it may be a cultural difference at play that causes me to type this message at all as I found his presentation inviting of some complementary comments.
He stated that martial arts are much better than soccer. I get his point but he should not have to put down other sports to sell martial arts. Also martial arts include fencing, kendo, aikido etc. that arguably do less for self-defense than soccer. Soccer also improves fitness and builds toughness; all of those qualities are useful for survival.
Also Mr. Casamassa states that martial arts are unique in that you can start practicing them at any age. I agree that martial arts can be learned at any age although I have never seen old men or women in a thai boxing or MMA gym. Very high kicks, hard bumps, old school conditioning and the like get a lot harder as years pass. I have seen people in their late middle-age doing very well in dancing though (not breakdancing).
