So thankful for these podcasts. I just came out of a cultish church and Im having a hard time finding a small church that is non denominational that is open when I don't work. So we have watched a lot of Unashamed and WFR's stuff. I am so joyful of all the revelations I have discovered such as the Kingdom, going to heaven when you die, this subject about women's roles, wine and the Lords supper, dressing up/down to go to church and the church body of Christ vs the building.

My husband and I were just saying we haven't seen ya'll on tv lately and we missed you. We are from Western New York (not to be confused with NYC). However, I think I was meant to be a southerner as when I hear myself talk in my head I have a southern accent. Your whole family brings joy to my life. Total KJV occurrences: 115
In the NT it is used some 115 times...always a group of baptized believers. They were believers FIRST then they were baptized. Then they met together. Collectively...together.... Key word: together. It is also referred to as a building (I Timothy 3:15) It is BOTH. BTW no offense...the caps are used for emphasis alone.
It makes a great difference to Jesus. If you are a Christian you need a Pastor.

The "he" is God....Jesus Christ the Lord! We are to work together....a "called out assembly" (a Church body). If we never meet then we are not a "Church" because we NEVER assemble! I know that Christians can worship God anywhere...not the point. The "Church" is a B*O*D*Y OF believers

You can go to the google play store and download the Blue Letter Bible for free and it has a section that explains each bible verse, it has helped me alot.
I have the King James Bible, it's difficult. One word change, and a whole passage can lose meaning. So, I try to use a second source as well.

Love this podcast! Listen to every episode. I am looking forward to learning more about all of your views on women and possibly more about marriage. Tomorrow is my second wedding anniversary and studying/listening to others teach on the role of women can be confusing. I never realized how controversial the bible can be within Christians until I started studying to improve myself as a mother and wife. I would also like to learn your views on domestic violence especially in marriage. In all transparency I'm in my second and last marriage. My first marriage ended in divorce due to abuse, I have a daughter from that marriage who does have regular visits with her dad. Then I have a son from my husband. When I left my forst husband many of my christian friends shamed me despite me explaining the situation. My exhusband filed for divorce and I was a single mother for two years. Duribg that season I felt God take care of me more than ever. And now I feel blessed to be in a healthy marriage. I have no regrets, but have found the church to be very critical on divorced people, single mothers, and at times stay at home wives.

I had a hard hard time with speaking in church. I grew up that you did not listen to a woman preacher/speaker unless she was over the children or women. But I have been revealed all of these things that Jesus did to break these women barriers within the church. God has put a calling on mine and my husbands lives and they work together so so well but I have to stand up at times and tell these things myself. I used to say he’s the Aaron to my Moses lol! God has brought me through that and from that I can freely use the wonderful gifts God has given me as well as help support the gifts my husband has. So thank you for speaking on these things! I pray it will help encourage others to start realizing this as well.
I don't know if Phil is able to see any of the comments on here but I would like to tell him that I would give anything to hug his neck. My Daddy died in 2020 and he reminds me of him. We are originally from WV and he talks like me and my Daddy. I've dealt with so much grief since he died but listening to Phil really helps me. His wisdom of the word of God is amazing. The person in your church was absolutely correct. Women are not to be in a role of authority over men in worship services. The Bible is clear on it.
Jase is interpreting the Bible the same way many churches interpret the Bible regarding Same Sex marriage.

Making my way from episode 1 and now to 80. It’s interesting to hear how these guys lived through what we might all call the darkest days of our generation to this point. You may not realize this, but you have become a father figure to those who don't have an earthly father (we've got a Good, Good One waiting for us in Heaven). When I sit and listen to you discuss the Word, your memories, raising your family, it's almost as if your listeners are included. When I listen to your podcast, it's like I am sitting at a dinner table with my big family. It may sound strange, but thank you for being an example, for those that don't have fathers, those that are fathers, and those that will be fathers.

I mean from a Protestant perspective, and I guess for the most part, a Catholic perspective, that interpretation of "you don't need to go to church" to gather and be in Christ's presence and be honoring and worshipping God. However, also from a Catholic perspective, this is no replacement for the Mass. Both things can be true at the same time and this is why I generally tell people "I went to Mass" and not "I went to church." And this is bc the Mass is where you can receive the sacrament of the Eucharist. And this goes into an argument of who has authority and I really don't feel like going into that in this comment.

Amen on that last statement Phil. My husband is the head of our house because he leads with love and we respect the roles that each one of us play in our household. People think that a man being the head of a household comes from fear, but it truly comes from respect and the fulfillment of God given attributes. The same for a woman; God designed us uniquely different, two halves of a whole.
The huge reason that duck dynasty was so important, is that it portrays a healthy family unit that love each other and respect god, for some people this is normal stuff, but for people like me where family and god are not in sight, and i wish to give up, im reminded of what i want, to live comfortably with my family

Talking about a woman and her “role” within the family. I didn’t think this when I was married, then sadly I was divorced and regret it now ‘cause I was raised in the burn you bra days. Lot’s of mistakes and learning during that time. But this is where I stand now. If you treat your man like a king, he’ll treat you like a queen. If I ever get married again, this will be my stance.

Come on! I know a few people that are so scared and depressed about not being able to go to church and yet they forgot about what scripture says about gathering and praying can be anywhere. It’s sad to see fellow believers so afraid of a virus. I don’t know about anyone else but the last time I checked I didn’t have an expiration date stamped on the bottom of my foot. When the good Lord decides its time then it’s time and guess what? If your saved and living for God, You win! No matter what the Government, World health organization or Man says!!! God Bless

Yes so many people dont understand what being a submissive wife really means. A woman can be submissive to her husband without a man being a dictator. Women absolutely have a spiritual place. My husband is the head of our household but there are many times i lift him up and encourage him as much as he is that for me.
Also btw, not sure what you was saying your stand point on speaking in tongues is..but the Holy ghost/speaking in tongues is a beautiful, powerful and real gift! If you havnt experienced it, i pray you do! Love watching yall!
the gifts of tongues was an apostle gift. spiritual gifts are given to edify the church, not for individual enjoyment.
Im sorry but thats not true. For one Gods word says the gift of the Holy Ghost is for ALL those afar off. Its a deep personal connection that you absolutely can experience through prayer if you desire it and seek it. Its not something to fake or mock. It is a very real beautiful gift
Speaking in tongues was a gift given to those speaking to the multitudes. Those people came from different nations and therefore spoke different languages. This was the purpose, for unbelievers to hear the good word. All this happened during the infancy of the Church. Paul tells us in I Corinthians 13: 8-10 that upon completeness, it will cease.

I got married at a fairly young age. The marriage didn't work out and we divorced after 3 kids. After about 6 years I got saved and baptized. Started going to a church and became a member. I then really wanted to go into ministry and be a preacher. The preacher told me to read 1st Timothy and he told me since I had been divorced and married my 2nd wife that I could not be a preacher. I was devastated! Would love to hear your thoughts on this topic. God Bless and I love your podcast.

1 Timothy 2: 11 Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve; 14 and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. 15 Yet she will be saved through childbearing-if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control.
Verses 14 & 15 give the reasons behind the command.
The passage in I Corinthians 14 deals with the worship service (I Corinthians 14:23) and thus does not apply in a private family setting. However, the passage in I Timothy contains general principles of Christian conduct. Thus, the command "Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence" (I Timothy 2:11-12) still applies. "Silence" is not absolute silence, but the portrayal of a quiet attitude. It doesn't forbid the asking of questions because even in the situation of worship where women are not to speak, they are encouraged to ask questions at home (I Corinthians 14:35). Men and women are equal in God's eyes as Christians, however there is an order to be followed. It is a position of authority. That position was given to men. "For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression" (I Timothy 2:13-14). It is not proper for a wife to take on a position not given to her by God, nor is it proper for a husband to place his wife in a position not authorized by God. "Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ. Now I praise you, brethren, that you remember me in all things and keep the traditions just as I delivered them to you. But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God" (I Corinthians 11:1-3). We do not have the right to change this ordering, even on a temporary basis.
Jase, I'm sorry my friend, but you used very twisted logic by saying that a man and wife are one for the reason of elimination of something you don't like. Husband and wife ARE one "Marriage unit" however there are gender specific commands in the New Testament. If everything that applies to a woman also applies to a man, then 1 Timothy 2:11-15 would mean that a man cannot teach or exercise authority over another man and that the man would be saved through childbearing. Come on, it just doesn't work.
Elder's wives are not Elders. It is a gender specific office. Titus 1:5 This is why I left you in Crete, so that you might put what remained into order, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you- 6 if anyone is above reproach, the husband of one wife, and his children are believers and not open to the charge of debauchery or insubordination. 7 For an overseer, as God’s steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, 8 but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. 9 He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.
Just listed were qualifications of an elder. A woman cannot be the husband of a man.
1 Timothy 3:11 Lists the qualification of the wife of a deacon -Their wives likewise must be dignified, not slanderers, but sober-minded, faithful in all things. Gain, gender specific.
There are no offices of Mrs. elder or Mrs. deacon.
Remember Jesus said how we make errors in Matthew 22:29 But Jesus answered them, “You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God.
If something is taught that is not in the scriptures, we are not to follow their teaching.
Romans 16:17 I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. 18 For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naïve.
There is only one source of truth. If doctrine is taught, but cannot be found in the scriptures, then it is false.
"Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth" (John 17:17). It is this truth that every Christian is to understand. "Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is" (Ephesians 5:17).

Coming from an old timer the church building is just a building. It is a mere gathering place in which to sing praises unto our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! The Bride of Christ/ The Congregation is what matters to God! Not the church building, in the end it is all going to burn with fervent heat anyway. Now with that said, we do gain strength by being around our Christian brothers and sisters! So not to say that the gatherings are not important because they can be vital! If someone is going through a ruff time and needs fellowship it can be necessary to them! God stated where two or three are gathered together in His Name there he will be also! Please everyone who reads this it is the body/ congregation that is vital to God not the building! In The Holy Name of Jesus Christ my He bless each and everyone of you always! Respectfully submitted

@@elenagovoni458 yes iv heard that before also,,and Phil also said that he didn't like how they would add in those beeps like as if something bad was Said and it wasn't the producers also wanted to control what phil thought about gay people,,,there was a couple other things that came up that the family was against, ,I'm not sure what they were but , ,they probably wanted a brake from all of it,,I would guess

Jase, My father her in the north in the spring would catch suckers. He would clean them and can them. He would use it for fish on crackers, he would take and drain the juices off the caned fish and dice onion and celery mix in some mayo and a little pickles and some pickle juice. And fish patties and the fish patties taste just like salmon patties

I understand what you all are saying about not needing a building but I believe certain people are trying to stop God’s people from moving without saying don’t preach anymore. We’re one body and each has a function. Where is the function if we sit and do nothing? Communion is in doing the Lords will and preaching the gospel.
Here's a question. Were men ever invited to Ladies Bible Class? What I recall was women had some issues that men couldn't understand. Besides, back then the men were at work supporting their families. I'm thankful for strong Christian Women who raise Christian children, like Ms. Kay.
Too many in these buildings today are more concerned with their man-made rules than worshiping our Lord and Savior. I've seen people boast about belonging to a certain building/ denomination like its social club they belong too. Jesus is nowhere involved . I've left a few 'buildings' because of this. Guarantee I've learned more from family bible studies at home than I ever did in a "building". I really appreciate these podcast. I looked forward to them. Thanks and God bless !!

@Hookset2490 Being a Evangelist I not only read the Bible but I live by it and pray to God daily to help me understand it. One of the worst things you can do is take the Scriptures out of context which leads to legalism which is a tool of the devil. I’ve never seen or heard of any of the Robertsons being boastful of their works.
@@ultimatewarrior6743 Then why did Phil bring it up at all. If you are to keep it secret, you don't make sure to mention it in a pod cast to thousands to draw attention to it. I grew up with the Bible too, but you are right about one thing. Many people do take Bible texts out of context. They do so to make it fit their own conveniences.
Hookset2490 I believe legalism and splitting hairs over Bible verses will drive people away from the church. If your having a hard time with the Robertsons just do yourself a favor and pray for them. None of us are 100% in the eyes of the Lord and never will be.
Our church had a virtual prayer service on Zoom and it was hacked twice with porn and cussing. Please pray for our church. Evil is trying to stop our worship

I wish you could send me some crayfish, I had a friend from down your way that taught up here in Alaska and shared several crayfish dishes she’s passed away and I haven’t had them for years . Now your talking about it it makes my mouth water ? What would it take for you to share some with this elderly lady?
