- This video took a while to make. But it was a fun process. It's been so long since I've made a normal video. Had some health issues that lead to me having surgery in October. At some point I'll make a video on that, but I wanna wait till I have my last after surgery check up.
It was a fun challenge to write something fantasy, but I think I'll stick with writting crime things.
I later realised how bad the hand holding the bow looked. Lol I don't know how bows work.

I will be redrawing all of the teachers and named characters. The written one will always come first before the video due to how long the videos take to make.
I love it watching people redesign the artwork for this show. Seeing people make inventive designs shows just how little effort the makers of HGS put into their creation. You did great. Also, you’re one of the first re-designers I’ve seen to make a more creepy aesthetic with the show. I would love a show that seems outwardly cutesy but gets progressively darker with time. That’s what the show could have done, yet it chose not to. I’d love to see more of your designs and hear more of your stories in the future. I’m sure they’ll be interesting.
I saw one that looked great, then I found another that looked bad but not terrible, but oh my gosh this "anime" brought out so many levels of artists to make redesigns and boy are some of them absolutely terrible.
This is what the characters should have been considering the mature warning they give the show at the beginning of each episode.
The dark atmosphere you gave the world and characters was much more in depth than anything the writers made, hell the writers couldn't even make anything to make sense.
I was never planning on watching the show myself but once I heard how bad it was I just had to watch it. Like the old saying goes, "It was a train wreck but I couldn't stop looking".

@Oblivion 1 Well, that would be because it's basically a written message saying who it is, and isn't for. Everything about the show screams child-friendly, from the over-explanation of plot, to the cutesy art style, to the bare bones plot. That is all thrown out the window with the content warning, and the more adult themes on LGBT focus, and that's about it. (I'm not saying LGBT can't be shown to kids, but the way it's hamfisted in the show would be bad for them to see)
I've seen more gore in a Batman show, than I have in HGS, so that can't be the reason. I have heard no actual swear words in the show. All I remember is that one poorly handled adult joke.
So, if the show is stylised for kids, and clearly disinteresting to an older audience, but the content warning states it should be the other way round, then who is the show for?

How bad is it that RUclipsrs that don't even have a thousand subs (no offense) can come up with a better, more mature, and deep story than writers that I would assume are professionals.
Yeah the problem is that they probably aren’t professionals. If they are they definitely shouldn’t be.
I absolutely love the redesigns. It really feels like an anime and the stories you come up with for each characters is so engaging and beautiful. Love the dark aspects of each. Though I wanna ask about Rosemary’s story. Mostly about how her brother could be involved

Edit: The characters are from what I can tell, completely different to the ones in the show, because yours are actual characters, with motives, and personality. All of which the main series seems to miss. You are trying to compare a clay vase to a polaroid of a colander. Your twist with her mother was also _far_ better than her twist in the actual series. Tho, I am a massive sucker for grimdark melodrama, and what you have here scratches that itch.

sure it would drive away the majority of the twitter userbase since they mostly like soft things and not triggering stuff like the berserk elements.
but I WOULD PAY GOOD MONEY FOR THIS and have it be animated by a japanese company.
hgs as it is.... it's not marketable... what even is the audience for this? the advertising failed to do that and left me unimpresed...

this is just not what it is though, like honestly the random monster gore and swears were very obviously thrown in because crunchyroll needed it to be pg-13 and felt dissonant and gratuitous to me idk
The designs are great, and backstories for the characters are super interesting and have a lot of depth compared to what I heard about the characters from the show. I love your storytelling, so you could continue this and see where it goes.
I've already done some work, so I could continue it. I suffered through episode 1 and 2 just to see the other characters. But that will come after a different rewrite. ^^

I like your voice and the music in the background give it interesting and mysterious vibe.
I would love to listen to more story with your style. you give every character very good background which explains the the reason why they go to the academy in the first place, all the four characters have goal that make the group dynamic and feel alive human been which gives them good and interesting chemistry with one another.
You build a very good setup for a good story I hope that you writing a story because you have a talent for writing.

@@hatimhamid760 I have a detective/slice of life comic called ''The lives we live''. Then I have a slice of life comic called ''Life in a fearsome world''. I'm currently working on a new one that I have yet to publish anywhere, so updates are slow lol.
I like this redesign. It makes the characters more fleshed out and it fits the mature theme more than just blood and cussing.
My favorite has to be Sage.
You know, Amanda. That redesign is 100 times better than the original source. Tbf, it's not only the design of the show is a train wreck, but also the plot, the narrative, the world building and etc which makes the show is more worst than I thought. BTW, it's nice to see people trying to redesign the characters and some RUclipsrs to their rewrite versions of the story telling of this show which literally sparks my interest a bit. As for the redesign, it's a 10/10.

Ok, this makes me realize just how cartoonish the original was. This and your narration makes for the kind of show that leaves you completly broken by the time the finale comes.
And no one gets a happy ending.

Edit: The main difference between your versions of the characters and the originals is that yours are more of a bunch of assholes :v although some of them have so little screen time and development that it's really not saying much

I'm not planning on watching the show either (I just like character design videos), but your versions sound very interesting, and I'd love to see more of them.
I go around these types of videos and try to gauge what the redesigned HGS would fit best. Here's my thoughts...
This iteration of "High Guardian Spice" would be a video game, not a TV show--a turn-based RPG with a storybook-esque art design.
It would be dark and depressing with subjects like loss and mourning, family issues, the price of enduring dark times, and more. As the story goes on, it would also promise aspects of hope, love, found family, and more as these broken girls learn to trust in each other. They'll have to, for the world they live in is full of fast-growing darkness and could well be on the verge of collapse.
Neat how you kept the slime boy impression up for the whole video. Don’t know if I could’ve done it.
Funny enough there is a crossover fanfic for the show with Naruto and it gives the show an actual story😊

I’m very late but I do have some criticism, very minor nothing too big but this is a problem I’ve had with many designers and the show itself. From my knowledge (correct me if I am wrong) but thyme is supposed to be a black coded character, so I just wish there were more features in the design showing that specifically with the hair that she’s you know black. I am black myself so its kind of disappointing to see people like me not properly getting represented, and before anyone complains no I am not calling the artist racist or even implying it, it’s a mistake that i’m simply critiquing. Besides the thyme thing the rewrite was quite interesting I am quite a sucker for darker themes in stories.
